Shaw -- Leo Thomas Shaw, 80, passed away on May 20, 1999 in Albuquerque. He was born in Synder, OK and married Margie Nichols in Texico, NM on April 13, 1966. He was a retired auto salesman. He and Margie moved to Albuquerque from Clovis, NM 30 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Margie Shaw; children, Larry T. Shaw, Kayla Rader and Larry Scroggins, all of Albuquerque, Anita Calkins of High Rolls, NM, Cynthia McDonald of West Jordan, UT, Regina Neimeyer of Wichita Falls, TX and Ramona Nelson of Enid, OK; and a sister, Frances Hartsorn of Pasadena, CA. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, Shannon Redfield, Cherice Nicholson, Amber Rader, Dusty Rader, Cody Rader, Kenny McDonald, Kala McDonald, Hannah McDonald, Susanne Lawrence, Sara MacMurdie, Leona Harris; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, May 24, 1999 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, followed by services at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Vernon Lierly and Brother Curtis Brown, officiating. Interment will be in Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Pallbearers will be Steve Gonzales, Russ Thorston, Forrest Rader, Dale Keyser, Joe Looney and Jack Chambers. Yazzie -- Sierrah Lanae Yazzie, infant daughter of Floyd Lee Yazzie and Marie Antoniette Blea, of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999. She is also survived by her sisters, Shantel Mariah Yazzie and Sabrina Monique Yazzie; maternal grandparents, David and Annette Candelaria; paternal grandparents, Harris and Cindy Yazzie, all of Albuquerque; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be held Monday, 2:000 p.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, with Father Vidal Martinez officiating. Pallbearers will be David Candelaria and Harris Yazzie. Casper -- Flossie Casper, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Thursday, May 20, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Casper of Albuquerque; sons, Thomas D. Casper of Durango, CO, Mark Casper of Kirkland, NM and Dean Casper of Boulder, CO; mother, Rosa Romero of Elk Grove, CA; and sister, Louise Valdez of Elk Grove, CA. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Earl -- Charles Jay Earl, age 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 32 years, died peacefully with his family by his side on May 19, 1999. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Langford Earl; daughter, Lezlee Murphy, her husband, David, and their children, Matthew, Kirsten, and Sarah; son, Charles Kevin Earl, his wife, Susan, and their son, Charles Hunter; daughter, Cydney Aranda, her husband, John, and their children, Andrew and William. He is also survived by brothers, Ken and Gary Earl; and sisters, Jean Keddington and LaRae Johnson. Jay was born in Ogden, Utah on June 25, 1923. He spent the early years of his life in Utah. In 1967, he moved his family to Albuquerque, working as an engineer for Ampex until his retirement. His love of the outdoors included fishing trips to Alaska, camping trips with his friends, and gardening. The last years of his life were spent doing for his family. He was a giving, loving man and a void will be left in the lives of all he touched. Jay will never be forgotten. Services will be held on Monday, May 24, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4109 Eubank NE. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and doctors in the Kaseman Hospice Unit. Their kindness and caring allowed us to spend peaceful time with our husband and father at the end of his life. Flores -- Antonia C. Flores, age 91, passed away May 20, in Albuquerque following an illness. Antonia was born September 10, 1907 in Puerto De Lunas, NM to the home of Santiago and Vicenta Olona Chavez. She was reared and attended schools in Puerto De Luna. Antonia loved gardening and working on the family farm with her husband and family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all her family. A lifelong resident of Puerto De Luna, Antonia was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Honorato Flores in 1987; a son, Cipriano Flores in 1991; two daughters, Rita F. Sanchez in 1992 and an infant daughter, Eva Flores. Survivors include one son, Manuel Flores and wife, Mary of Santa Rosa; three daughters, Juanita Flores and Predicanda Flores of the family home in Puerto De Luna and Tina Garcia and husband, Lee of Vaughn; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Flores of Clovis and a son-in-law, Lorenzo Sanchez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving is her sister, Rosa C. Griego of Fort Sumner; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. from the Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, a second rosary will be held on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Refuge Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. also from Our Lady of Refuge Church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. Serving as pallbearers are Jim Griego, Lee Garcia, Lorenzo Sanchez, Luis Flores, Raymond Griego, Manny Flores, Peter Andrew Flores, Joseph Flores and Jude Flores. Hartley -- Ruth E. Hartley, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999. She is survived by her husband, James A. Hartley, marriage of 50 years; son, Douglas A. Hartley and Cynde L. Gates and children, Catherine and Chelsey; grandchild, Allison Hartley; and brother, Ray Ronald Rudolph and wife, Edith of Maryland. Ruth was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. Mrs. Hartley was a long standing volunteer for the New Mexico Natural History and Science Museum and previously The Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Memorial services will be held Sunday, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A reception will follow as Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Rd. NE. Hatchell -- Neal Franklin Hatchell, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Monday, May 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Edna E. Hatchell of 61 of the family home; two sons, Kirk Hatchell and wife, Beth of Albuquerque and Jim N. Hatchell of Albuquerque; and grandchild, Zeke Hatchell. He was a member of Mountain Side Church of Christ and child of God. Mr. Hatchell was an Army Veteran of WWII. Neal was also a member of VFW. Mr. Hatchell founded Hatchell Brothers Construction Company into a highly successful company of 47 years to present. He was a mentor and supporter of many fledgling businessmen and companies in Albuquerque. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Alan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Jim Edgcomb, Mike Hatchell, Trevor Hatchell, Jack Wyse, Matthew Morris, and Jeff Hatchell. Horton -- 1952-1999 Marion E. Horton, 46, a resident of Mid Valley Air Park in Los Chavez, passed away on May 17, 1999. Marion worked as a Human Relations Coordinator for the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard F. Horton; her son, John Scheuch, Jr. of Las Cruces; a stepson, David Horton of Carlsbad; and a stepdaughter, Claudine Horton of Indiana, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by two brothers, Ed Latham of Virginia, and Mike Simms of Maryland; and her sister, Deborah Nice of Maryland. Memorial services for Marion will be held on Sunday, May 23, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel. Mendoza -- Theresa H. Mendoza, 64, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 19, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Frank; one son, Michael Grijalva of Moriarty; one daughter, Marie Padilla and husband, Ronny of Peralta; two grandchildren, Melissa and Krystal Padilla; four stepchildren; and she was a loving"Grandma" to another nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The rosary will be recited on Monday, May 24, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 833 Arizona SE. Church services will be held on Wednesday, May 26th at Holy Ghost Church at 10:30 a.m. with burial following at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Myers -- Franklin Gearold Myers, age 90, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nadine Myers of the family home; daughter, Betty Lou Gatto, and husband, Donald of Albuquerque; son, Bob Myers and wife, Sherry of Tehachapi, CA; grandsons, Brady Womack and wife, Claire Goldstein, and Wayne Myers and wife, Leslie Petersen; granddaughters, Brenda Beck and husband, Philip, and Laura Wagner and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Myers, Jayson Grover, Jacquelynn Grover, Shawna Grover, Jonathan Beck, Kingston Wagner and Mariah Wagner; and by his nephews, Gene Flowers and wife, Sandy and Buddy Flowers and wife, Cynthia, all of Rio Rancho. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his sisters, Jewel Myers and Etolia Flowers. His family came West from Winslow, IN in 1923 and settled in Albuquerque in 1927. Mr. Myers retired from Sandia National Laboratories after working there for 15 years. Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating.
