Chegwyn -- Robert Edward"Bob" Chegwyn, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Vivian D. Chegwyn of Albuquerque; stepson, Robert Bell of Albuquerque; sister, Betty Lange; and nephew, Jeff Lange, both of St. Paul, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Chegwyn; brother and sister-in-law, John and Levina Chegwyn. Mr. Chegwyn had been an amateur Ham Radio operator since 1966. After moving to Albuquerque, he became a Ham Emergency radio operator. Mr. Chegwyn joined the Masonic Order in November 1945. In 1976, he was Master of the East Gate Lodge in St. Paul, MN. Later, he joined the Hazel Park Lodge and he also belonged to the York Rite, #312 both in St. Paul, MN. He was part of the Provost Unit of the Osman Shriners, also in St. Paul. When Mr. Chegwyn moved to New Mexico, he maintained an active role in the York Rite in Los Alamos. Services will be held Monday, May 1, 2000, 12:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Marsha Moore and Rev. Carmen Conner officiating. There will also be a Masonic farewell. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, April 30, 2000, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osman Women's Auxillary for the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, c/o Anne Kellerman, 260 West View Dr. #301, West St. Paul, MN, 55118.

Coffman -- Esther Mae Coffman, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Saturday, April 29, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Anne Bell and husband, G. Eric of Albuquerque, Linda Jean Stephens of Santa Fe, N.M., and Judy Lee Hauger and husband, Michael of Albuquerque; son, John Alexander Coffman and wife, Terri of Edgewood, N.M.; grandchildren, Stephanie Spray, John Spray, Jennifer Stephens, Casey Coffman, Kimberly Coffman, and Alex Hauger; great-grandchild, Elijah Spray; sister, Doris Flowers and husband, Herman of Albuquerque; and long-time friend, Diana Fein. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, N.M. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Garrett -- Mrs. Winifred Alice Garrett, 82, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 28, 2000. Mrs. Garrett is the beloved wife of 57 years to Mr. Gerald Garrett. She is also survived by one son, Gary Garrett of Los Alamos, N.M. and a brother, Lewis Kidney and wife, Lucille. Private disposition has taken place. Gilbert -- Dome A. Gilbert, 83, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000. She is survived by her sisters, Emma Armijo and Rose Dearholt of Albuquerque; brothers, Mayo Armijo and his wife, Corinne of Las Vegas, NM, and Solomon Armijo Jr. and his wife, Beverly of Yucaipa, CA; brother-in-law, Lewis A. Winston and Ozzie Molinar; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Dome was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Gilbert; and her parents, Solomon and Candelaria Armijo Ms. Gilbert earned her degree in Education from the University of New Mexico, where she majored in English. She taught in Magdalena, NM, was the Guadalupe County School Supervisor in Santa Rosa, NM, and served as an instructor of education at New Mexico Highlands University and a supervising teacher at Douglas Elementary. She spent many hours supporting the cause and leading the efforts of the League of Women Voters of which she was a charter member; she was also a charter member of the Association of University Women (AAUW) in Las Vegas. Ms. Gilbert was also an active member of the Arts Council, Library Association, Las Vegas Hospitality Auxiliary, and the St. Anthony's Hospital Auxiliary. She led the effort to support many local activities, but the one she was the most proud of was the Mardi Gras event which raised much needed money for the St. Anthony's Hospital in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carlos Gilbert Elementary School, 300 Griffin Street, Santa Fe, NM, 87501. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 1, 2000, 9:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Las Vegas, NM, with Father George Salazar celebrant. Private disposition will take place in the Magdelena Cemetery, Magdelena, NM. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Hansen -- Anne Elizabeth Lathrop Hansen passed away in her home in Albuquerque on Wednesday, April 26, 2000. Anne is survived by her four children and their families, Mark Hansen of Santa Barbara, CA, his daughter, Kathleen Dunn of Alexandria, VA, David Hansen and wife, Elaine of Chicago, IL, Leith Black and husband, Randy of Niceville, FL, their daughter, Alexandra, and Roderick Hansen and wife, Lydia of Albuquerque, their children, Ariana, and Andrew; sister, Frances Sweeney and husband, Edwin of Santa Fe (with whom Anne took several trips abroad in recent years); niece, Shawn Hollendonner and her family of Santa Fe; and nephew, Steven Sweeney and his family of Reno, NV. All agree that Anne's was a wondrous life, complete with adventure, discovery, and the poetry of family love."I listened, motionless and still--- And, as I climbed upon the hill --- The music in my heart I bore--- Long after it was heard no more." Hooper -- Donald B. Hooper, born April 10, 1936, died Tuesday, February 15, 2000. Don grew up in Columbus, OH. He received his doctorate degree from Ohio State University. He taught at JU in Jacksonville, FL and retired in Albuquerque, NM. Don retired as a Major in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Masonry and DeMolay in Ohio and Jacksonville. Don is survived by his mother, Gertrude Hooper; daughters, Michelle Bell and her husband and Christine Turpen and her husband; and grandchildren, Jared, Dalton, Nicole, and Austin. Jones -- Eleanor Jones, 76, a former resident of Albuquerque, passed away on April 6, 2000 in Colorado Springs. She is survived by two sons, Jim and Michael Jones; a daughter, Jean Ann Koch; and two grandchildren, all of Albuquerque; and a sister, Patricia Nagel of Utah. Martinez -- Lazaro Santos Martinez, 19, died on April 26, 2000 in Albuquerque. He was a Catholic and took his first communion at Annunciation Church in Albuquerque. He was a very loving brother and son, and will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his father, Jesus Martinez of Albuquerque; his mother, Lenore Armijo of Albuquerque; brothers, Diego Martinez and companion, Jennifer Montano of Albuquerque and Rudy Hernandez and wife, Jamie of Lubbock, TX; sisters, Malena McLaren and companion, Kevin Hobart of Denton, TX and Stacey Karpp of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandmothers, Bea Armijo of Albuquerque and Alejandra Rios of Mexico; nieces and nephews, Xazziel, Breonah and Alexis; and a very special friend and mentor, Melvin Nunez. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care, with Fr. Antonio Mondragon of Prince of Peace Catholic Community as Celebrant. Mccallum -- Grace McCallum, 88, passed away Sunday, April 23, at Manzano del Sol, Albuquerque, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. She is survived by Robert McCallum, her husband of 57 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Bruce Landesman of Salt Lake City, UT; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Virginia McCallum of Ames, Iowa; four grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Landesman (Salt Lake City) and Kendall and Ethan McCallum (Ames); and several nieces and nephews. Born Grace Roberta Glenn in Seward, Nebraska, she spent most of her school years in San Bernardino California, attending San Bernardino Junior College and receiving her BA from the Santa Barbara Teachers College. She worked as a registered dietitian in New York, Philadelphia, and Cleveland, and received her MS in Institutional Management from Columbia Teachers College. She was a Dining Hall Director at Stanford University when she married Robert McCallum in 1943 and moved to the Marine Corps Base at Cherry Point, North Carolina. The family lived in Pasadena, California and at Fort Hood, Texas before moving to Albuquerque in 1953. Grace resumed her professional career as dietitian for the Santa Fe Railroad Hospital and then as Director of the New Mexico Dairy Council. She served in many capacities, volunteer and professional, including chairing the New Mexico Press Women and receiving the New Mexico Home Economist of the Year award in 1970. A Memorial service will be held at Manzano del Sol, 5201 Roma NE, on Monday, May 1, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Manzano del Sol.
