Krannawitter -- Pauline Roney Krannawitter, 93, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born August 9, 1907 on a farm near St. Mary, KY, the daughter of Edward and Dola (Thomas) Roney. Pauline was a former Sister of Charity in Cincinnati before she married Col. Richard Krannawitter on October 10, 1953. He passed away January 26, 1991. She is survived by her sisters, Sister Lucia Anne Roney, S.C., and Sister Marie Vincentia Roney, S.C., both of Albuquerque and Sister Josephine Marie Roney, S.S.S., of Pueblo, CO; brothers, S. Thomas Roney and wife, Mary, of Burlington, VT, Brother Cyprian Luke, F.S.C (Charles), of Santa Fe, John I. Roney and wife, Josephine, of New Freedom, PA, Paul J. Roney, of Albuquerque, and Jesse R. Hagy and wife, Barbara, of Westbrooke, CT; numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited by Brother C. Luke at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2001, in Palm Chapel, Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper NW, with Father Joel Garner, O. Praem as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pauline's memory to Servants of the Paracletes, Jemez Springs, NM 87025; Brothers of the Good Shepherd, in Albuquerque; Holy Rosary Catholic Community in Albuquerque; or Immaculate Conception Church. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of her arrangements.

Engle -- Lola Engle, born February 19, 1910, passed away at her home on February 12, 2001 after a long struggle with cancer. Formerly of Billings MT, Lola moved to Albuquerque in 1998 to be close to family. Survivors include one son, Jerry Lund and wife, Terry of Bates City, MO; two step-sons, Robert Engle and his wife, Gaye of Poulson, MT and Ronald Engle and wife, Barbara of Minnetrista, MN; brother, Charles and wife, Geri of Carmichael, CA; sister, Beulah Davis and husband, Keith of Wadena, MN, six grandchildren, including, Cyndi Carter and husband, Mike of Albuquerque, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ross Engle, brother, Kenneth and sister, Dorothy. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Unity Church, 9800 Candelaria N.E. French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. N.E.

Stemp -- Walter D. Stemp, 90, passed away on February 9, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Joan Montag and husband, Richard of Albuquerque; two grandchildren; Michael Montag and wife, Marcy of El Cajon, CA, and Reine Moure and husband, Joseph of Pasadena, CA; great-grandchildren, Gail and Leslie Montag; extended family, J. Thomas Montag and wife, Diane and daughter, Kimberly. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Stemp in 1992. Schum -- Paula Schum. The William Schum family want to express their sincere appreciation to their many friends for the generous outpouring of love and support extended them during their recent bereavement. Dimas -- Raymond Dimas, age 79, passed away on February 11, 2001 at a Lake Charles Hospital in Creole, LA. A native of Albuquerque, he moved to Cameron in 1947. He was a member and a Lay Minister of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was former Post Commander of VFW Post #10019, and was a 4th degree and former Grand Knight J.P. Boudoin Council #3014 Knights of Columbus. He was a member of American Legion Post #176. He was former President of Cameron Parish School Board, former Director of Civil Defence, and a member of the Farm Bureau and Lions club. He served in the US Army during WWII at Normandy Beach and the Second Indian Head Division. He retired from La. Menhadan and Zapata Protein. He was a recipient of the Bishops Medal. Mr. Dimas is survived by his mother, Annie Dimas of Albuquerque; wife, Margie Nunez Dimas of Creole; five sons, Jean Dimas, David Dimas and Gary Dimas all of Creole, LA. Jerome Dimas of Orange, TX and Joey Dimas of Iowa, LA; two daughters, Theresa Townsend of LaMarque, TX and Christy Fitzhenry of Sealy, TX; four brothers, Ross Dimas and Ben Dimas Jr. of Albuquerque, Alfred Dimas of Lakewood, CA, and Jimmie Dimas of Belen; three sisters, Dora Sanchez and Melba Olona of Albuquerque, Peggy Sanchez of Belen; 20 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 13, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole, LA.

Groenewold -- Philip M. Groenewold, 74, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 14 years, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2001. He was born March 22, 1926 in Valley Stream, New York. Philip was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas parish in Rio Rancho, and an active member in the Meadowlark Senior Center, both Pinochle and Civil War. Having retired in 1984, he enjoyed life to the fullest in all he did. He was very proud to have served in the US Army for two years during WW II. Philip is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne of Rio Rancho; son, Roy of Rio Rancho; daughter, Susan Neville and husband, John; and grandson, Christopher of Rio Rancho, and grandson, Douglas Neville of Clermont, FL; sister, Dorothy Schneider and husband, Charles; two brothers, Reverend Robert, S.J. and Reverend Thomas Groenewold, all of Long Island, NY. He lived and died with the thought of being the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he could possibly be. He will be remembered as a smiling gentleman about whom people said,"To know him is to like him." Visitation will be Tuesday, February 13, 2001 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (family will be present from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7::00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Rio Rancho, celebrants will be The Rev. Robert Groenewold, S.J. and The Rev. Thomas Groenewold. Entombment will follow in the Patriots Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School will be appreciated. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.

Olguin -- Jimmie "Santiago" Olguin went home to the Lord on February 11, 2001. Jimmie was born and raised in Los Jarales and Belen, New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque in 1954. Jimmie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Clorie; son, Alfred and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Debra Manriquez and husband, Ector; son, Jimmy Olguin; daughter, Sandra Sanchez and husband, George; son, Johnny Olguin; and daughter, Loretta Ortiz and husband, Richard; brother, Ernest Olguin and wife, Bernice; and sister, Mary Garcia and husband, Gilbert; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his loving family. A Rosary will be held this evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edwins Church with Monsignor Salas officiating. Final Viewing will be held from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St Edwins, with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Ector Manriquez, Adam Olguin, Michael Manriquez, Richard Ortiz, George Sanchez, and Stephanie Olguin. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Anthony Olguin, Charles Garcia and Sammy Olguin. Funeral Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave., SW. 243-5222.
