Chavez -- Fermin Reynoldo Chavez, 60, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2001. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Rosemary Chavez; six wonderful children, Angela, Anna Mae, Fermin Jr., Walter I., Steven and Andrew Chavez. A Public Viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. A Rosary at 2:00 p.m. and a Catholic Service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2001 at Romero Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the San Clemente Catholic Cemetery.

Griego -- Don Salomon U. Griego, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at the age of 93. He was born in Las Nutrias, NM on February 22,1908. He married Eluticia Cordova of La Joya, NM on January 4, 1930. He was a rancher and farmer in Las Nutrias his entire life. Don Salomon served as precinct chairman for the Democratic Party of Socorro County for approximately 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan de Dios and Sofia Griego of Las Nutrias; four brothers, Pantaleon, Epitacio, Eloy, Manuel; one sister, Carolina Chavez of Las Nutrias; and one grandson, Roy Griego of Albuquerque. Don Salomon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Eluticia; six sons, Miguel, Salomon Jr. and Jose, all of Las Nutrias, Juan D. and wife, Carmel of Albuquerque, Pablo and wife, Helen of Abeytas, NM, George and wife, Gloria of Belen; one daughter, Annabelle Benavidez and husband, Andres of Albuquerque; 23 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Tanny Jaramillo and husband, Andres of CA; and one brother-in-law, Ernesto Chavez of Las Nutrias. Salomon is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Thursday, 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary following in his honor at 6:00 p.m. at the San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias, NM. A Catholic burial will be held on Friday, 2:00 p.m. at the San Isidro Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Las Nutrias Cementery. Jaramillo -- David W. Jaramillo, USAF Ret., 45, passed away in Denver, Colorado May 27, 2001. He was a native New Mexican, living in Jemez and Albuquerque. David retired from the Air Force after serving 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Jaramillo; children, David Jaramillo, Anthony Jaramillo, Loretta Jaramillo, Jason Jaramillo, Ashleigh Jaramillo, Andrew Jaramillo, and Kevin Jaramillo; parents, Melecio and Bessie Jaramillo; mothers-in-law, Nancy and husband, Ron, and Sandy Edwards; sisters, Rosemary Chavez and husband, Frank, Ida Merhege and husband, John, Lisa Russo, and Paula Leyba. Special uncle, Lambert Jaramillo; special aunts, Connie Jaramillo, Helen Jaramillo, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe) Catholic Church in Canon, NM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2001. Baca -- Rudy Baca, 66, passed away May 26, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Rosarito Baca; and sister, Erma Denham. Salazar -- Margaret "Grandma Margaret" Salazar, 88, peacefully passed on from this earth to her heavenly home on Friday, May 25, 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Margaret owned and operated Tiny Tots Cottage for 40 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and the casinos. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Salazar; her parents, Stanislado and Barbarita Garcia; one sister, Lupe Chavez; and one brother, Salomon Garcia. Margaret is survived by her four children, Danny Salazar and wife, Bernice; Margaret Duenas and husband, Vernon; Barbara Aragon and husband, Eddie; and Adela Griego and husband, David; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eva Glidewell and husband, Marvin. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, 5:30pm followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Belen Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Belen with interment in the Parish Cemetery. Gutierrez -- Josephine M. Gutierrez, age 87, passed away May 21, 2001 at Los Alamitos Hospital in Los Alamitos, CA. Josephine was born April 18, 1914 in Colonias, NM to the home of Juan Pablo and Andrea Urban Gutierrez. She worked at Medley's Cafe in Santa Rosa for several years. She moved to Albuquerque in 1958 where she worked at Kirtland Air Force Base as cafeteria manager for five years. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Albuquerque and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Long Beach, CA. Josephine loved to crochet, sew, knit, bake and play bingo. She was a loving sister and aunt and will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Theresa Duran and Antonia Warlick; two nephews, Bobby Ray Gutierrez and Marshall Bass. Survivors include two brothers, Jose F. Gutierrez and wife, Josephine of Albuquerque, Horacio Gutierrez of Santa Rosa; three sisters, Dolores Salazar and husband, Donald of Albuquerque, Otilia Wisniewski and husband, Frank of El Paso, TX and Pita Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV; 16 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces and nephews. Rosary Services will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Chavez Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Father Stephen Schultz officiating.
