Zachry -- Violette Moore Zachry, 91, died Saturday, July 21, 2001. She is survived by her 12 nieces and nephews. Violette is preceded in death by her husband W. Ray Zachry, of 42 years. Violette was born June 18, 1910 in Doster, Kansas, the fifth child born to Andrew Jackson and Mary Virginia Moore and the only girl in the family of seven brothers. She attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas and Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. She received a Bachelor's Degree of Music Education at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 1936. She attended graduate school in music at Northwestern University the summers of 1938 and 1939. She taught music in the public school systems of Sedgwick (1936-1938) and Herington (1938 & 1942), Kansas and Dubuque, Iowa (1934-1944). Her talents as a visual artist and as a writer and recorder of history and family memories she discovered late in life. After her husband's death in 1987, and at the age of seventy-nine, she began painting with water colors and oils. In 1992, at the age of eighty-two, she began writing The Most Difficult One, an autobiography, which she finished in 1997. Services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2001, 1:30 p.m, at First Presbyterian Church, Dr. Paul Davenport, officiating and assisted by Reverend Myron White . Brake -- Betty McKim Brake, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, of complications from heart disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Brake, Jr. and her parents, Frank and Anna McKim. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Brake of Chicago, IL, and Susan Brake of Albuquerque; son, William Brake and wife, Lynda of Corrales, NM; sister, Lee Brown and husband, Richmond of Central Lake, MI and grandchildren, Terrance and Teressa Brake and Jonathan and Joshua Kern. Betty was born in Gallup, NM and was valedictorian of Gallup High School. She received an AS degree from Stephens College in Columbia, MO and a BS degree in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. Betty was one of the first female members of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories, where she worked from 1955 until 1985. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Cdebaca -- Mr. Arsenio CdeBaca, 75, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 19, 2001 with his beloved family by his side. Mr. CdeBaca is survived by his cherished wife of more than 49 years, Carmen; four sons, Larry CdeBaca and wife, Amy, Anthony CdeBaca and wife, Melody, Michael CdeBaca and wife Ingrid and Gene CdeBaca and partner, David; four grandchildren, Jeff, Anthony, Taylor and Ashley; four step-grandchildren, Elyse, Kate, Betsey and Nick; great-grandson, Dakota; step-great-grandson, Omar; brother, Leroy CdeBaca and wife Anne; sister, Marie CdeBaca; brother-in-law, Max O.Trujillo; sister-in-law, Patsy Roybal; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born and raised in Las Vegas, NM, Mr. CdeBaca was preceded in death by his father, Arsenio V. CdeBaca; and mother, Lucy Guerin CdeBaca. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. After completing active duty, he was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and the National Guard. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1958 where he was a member of the Engineering Cooperative Education program working at White Sands Missile Range, and received his degree in Electronic Engineering. Following graduation he continued to work for White Sands Missile Range, and his family made Las Cruces their home. In 1961, he took a position with New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM where he was an instructor for the School of Technical Electronics. The following year he moved his family to Albuquerque to work for Kirtland Special Weapons Center, where he retired in 1981. During retirement, he enjoyed golfing with his lifelong friends and traveling with his wife. He was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque and a member of American Legion Post #13. Memorial rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, 12:30 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Cordova -- Myra C. Cordova was born Myra Caroline White on January 30, 1922 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Henry Martyn White and Ethelyn Guinn White. She died on July 20, 2001 at the age of 79. She is survived by her loving son, William G. Newsome of San Rafael California, his wife, Nancy, and their young son, Samuel Leland Newsome, who was the light of Myra's life. She is also survived by her brother, William F. White of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and his family, as well as by her stepson, Clarence James Flaming of Victorville, California. She was preceded in death by former husband, Gene T. Newsome of Oklahoma, and beloved husbands, Clarence W. Flaming and Celso J. Cordova, both of Albuquerque, as well as by her younger son, Robert Mark Flaming, her older sister, Florence White, older brother Jared B. White and infant sister, Mary Charlotte White. Myra graduated with a degree in social work from Oklahoma University. As a single mother, she worked as a grocery clerk for Safeway in Kingfisher. After moving to Albuquerque in 1946, she worked with her new husband, Clarence, as proprietors of the Green Haven Motor Court on North Fourth Street, and later, the Little House Cafe on Central Avenue. Primarily a homemaker in the years that followed, she did postgraduate studies at the University of New Mexico, acquiring a teaching certificate in 1960. Myra taught in the Albuquerque Public School System for over 20 years, first in elementary education and later as a reading specialist. She retired from Truman Middle School in 1982. Myra was a member of the American Business Women's Association, the Albuquerque Association of Educational Retirees, and a former member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary educational sorority. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, where she was a devoted and involved practitioner of her faith. She was most recently active in the congregation of Rio Grande Presbyterian Church. A caring, creative, dynamic individual who lived the values she taught so well, Myra will be missed by those who loved her. Friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30 at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Boulevard, NE. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31 at Sunset Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 924-C Menaul Boulevard NE. Crandall -- Challis Cody Crandall, 24, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died, Wednesday, July 18, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Erica Crandall; daughter, Ashley Crandall; son, Cody Crandall; parents, Chet and Jeanette Crandall of Albuquerque; sisters, Chantelle and Candi and husband, Leo; grandparents, Fred and Gloria Crandall of Albuquerque and Doug and Carol Pilling of Wyoming; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was a terrific husband and a wonderful father to his children. Challis was a proud owner of a Concrete business of Albuquerque. Services will be held Monday, 11:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1100 Montano Rd. NW with Bishop Jeffrey Payne of the Volcano Cliffs Ward officiating. Dodd -- Charles D. Dodd died July 12, 2001. He was born March 13, 1932 in Springer, NM. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Dodd; sons, Doug Dodd, Scott Dodd, Eddie Dodd & Todd Miller and wife Jenifer; daughters, Carrol Graham, Lynn Waln, and Husband Steven; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was an air traffic controller at DFW, Viet Nam, Guam, and Albuquerque for 35 years. He taught Air Traffic control in OKC for five years after retirement. He and his wife enjoyed full time RV travel for the past two years. He was a 32nd degree mason and life time member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. Charlie, loved life and will be missed by his family and friends. Cremation was July 16, 2001 in Montrose, CO, after a motorcycle accident. Burial and graveside service will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetary on August 3, 2001 at 3:00 p.m.

Fairman -- Frances P. Fairman, 76, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, July 19, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela M. Fairman and Martha A. Grant, both of Albuquerque; sons, Dale Fairman and wife, Robin of Marysville, WA, Brian P. Fairman of New Castle, CO and David S. Fairman of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Jessica M. Heil and husband, Mike of Las Cruces and Christina A. Grant; grandson, Nicholas I. Grant, both of Albuquerque; brother, Sisto Baca and wife, Laura of Tome; and sister, Priscilla Trujillo and husband, Joe of Denver, CO. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Luis C. and Martinita (Marques) Baca. She worked for the Bernalillo County Clerk for 15 years. Frances was a member of the Democratic Women and was very active in politics in the local and state level. She was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place and a memorial rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m., at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 933 Arizona SE. Ferguson -- John Benjamin Ferguson, 57, a resident of Albuquerque, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 15, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Ferguson. He is survived by his mother, Wanda Ferguson; a brother, Tom Ferguson; and a sister, Patricia Heydt, all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are nephews, Rick, Mike, Steve, and Nick Meleski; nieces, Corin Wood and Melanie Trujillo; great-nephews, Daniel, Andrew, and Jared Trujillo; great-nieces, Christee and Miranda Meleski and Aspen Meleski. John was born April 24, 1944, in Roswell, NM, and graduated from Roswell High School in 1962. After graduating in mathematics from New Mexico State University in 1966, he began working with computers for Boeing Company and Martin Marietta Corporation, and worked on NASA's Apollo and Viking Projects for space exploration of the Moon and Mars. In 1976, he returned to New Mexico, working at Los Alamos and Albuquerque in nuclear energy research for Dept. of Energy contractors until retiring in 1991. During and after these years, he was active in amateur music societies, playing both Celtic and Bluegrass music with various groups in Albuquerque. No formal service is planned. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Roswell. All friends of the family and especially John's music associates are invited to a celebration of John's life on Sunday, July 29, 2001 1:30 p.m. at 1129 Forest Road NW (off Rio Grande north of Alameda).

Godlewski -- Beverly Godlewski, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died Thursday, July 19, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Terri Kroemer and husband, Rich of Des Moines, IA and Kashia Godlewski of Denver, CO; son, Tommy Godlewski and wife, Angela Valdez-Godlewski; granddaughter, Kelli Harrison and husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, Keith, Vincent and Corey Harrison, all of Albuquerque; and sister, Maxine Butler and husband, Lonnie of Cortland, NY. Mrs. Godlewski enjoyed crafts and was a baseball fan. She participated in bowling tournaments. Hansen -- Judith A. Hansen, 66, died on Thursday, July 19, 2001. She was preceded in death by a son, Ted Hansen.
