Matteucci -- Teresa Matteucci, 98, a resident of Albuquerque for 76 years, died Friday, August 9, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Matteucci; sons, Pete Matteucci and wife, Clara, Fred Matteucci and Richard Matteucci, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Matteucci was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1984. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Medley -- Joseph D."Joe" Medley,"Joe Boy", 69, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002. He is survived by his ex-wife and bestfriend, Muriel N. Medley of Albuquerque; daughters, Muriel Emily Apodaca and husband, Phil of Albuquerque, Beverly Sue Schutte and husband, Don of Tucumcari, and Carla Lee Bosellie of Albuquerque; brother, Roy"Sonny" Wells; and six grandchildren. Mr. Medley served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and attended UNM. He was a city judge and Justice of the Peace in Mountainair. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Estancia. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 12, 2002, 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.

Michaluk -- Margie Lorene Michaluk, 82, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in Albuquerque on July 31, 2002. Margie was born to John W. Ransom and Lillie M. Ransom on October 27, 1919. Margie celebrated life everyday, and was a bright spot in many people's lives. She was married to William Michaluk who passed on before her November 5, 2001. In their retirement years they enjoyed bowling and fishing. Margie was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by John D. Townsend her son of Arizona; and her brother, John W. Ransom Jr. of Albuquerque. Margie is survived by her daughter, Jayne Guerra of Oregon; two granddaughters, Arianna M. Guerra of Oregon and Shelly Bilyeu of California; a grandson, David Townsend of California; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Guerra-Lange, Jacob Townsend, Morgan Bilyeu and Ashley Bilyeu; her niece, Janice Parras of Los Lunas was her friend and helper in the last years of her life. She had several nieces and nephews. Services will be held August 12, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Av. SE with Chaplin Ronald Cok officiating. Interment will follow at 2: 00 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery with Chaplin Ruben Carlson officiating. Casket bearers will be John C. Ransom, Michael Ransom, Dave Townsend, Scott Bilyeu, Aaron Hahn and Ken Parras. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the V.A.M.C. Cancer Support Group Voluntary Services 1501 San Pedro SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is handling her arrangements.

Montoya -- Benny A. Montoya, 89, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Thursday, August 8, 2002. He is survived by his son, Joe Bernard Montoya and wife, Mercie of Orlando, FL; daughters, Bernice Archuleta and husband, Mel of El Rito, NM and Marcie Espinoza and husband, Bill of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Don Montoya and wife, Irene of Albuquerque; daughter Linda of Alabama; son, Rey Montoya and wife, Terri of Las Vegas, NV; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Louie Montoya; and sister, Clara Jaramillo and husband, Sam and companion, Maria Socorro Fernandez, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Montoya was preceded in death by his wife, Odilia Montoya; son, Donaciano Montoya; grandson, Grant Montoya; granddaughters, Natile Pacifico and Darlene Baca; and great-granddaughter, Yvonne Baca. He was born in Estancia and raised in Madrid. Mr. Montoya worked as a coal miner in Madrid, a janitor at the Kimo Theater and as a farmer, and as a roofer before working for the state. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 9502 N. 4th Street, Alameda. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Alfonso Montoya, Stephen Edmiston, Andres Montoya, Phillip Montoya, Mauricio Rodriguez and Ricky Jojola. Munzer -- Grayce Catherine Munzer. In memory of Grayce Catherine Munzer, January 29 1922 - August 5 2002. Born in Philadelphia PA to parents, James T. Meridith and Catherine Brown-Meridith, Grayce is survived by her daughter, Michelle Denise Munzer-Hooker. Married to Paul Anthony Munzer in 1949, they later moved to Albuquerque where she worked as a nurse. Grayce was a woman of elegance and refinement and she will be sincerely missed by all those who knew her. Memorial Services will be held at Gate of Heaven 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE on August 12, 2002 at 2:00 pm.

Owen -- Jack Bryan Owen, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2002. Jack moved to Albuquerque from El Paso, TX in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen; his son, Bill and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Clarissa and Sam, all of Albuquerque; brother, Dan and his wife, Iris of Tucson, AZ; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Jack was born in Dallas, TX and grew up in Hayden, AZ. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a machinist for the El Paso Natural Gas Company from 1947-1981. Before retiring, he spent several years working on a liquefied natural gas project in Algeria and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Jack was devoted to his family and friends. He served his community as an active member of Manhattan Presbyterian Church, a coach of El Paso youth league sports, and over 50 years of membership in Masonic and Shrine organizations. He loved music, the outdoors and sports. He played trumpet in the Shrine Band and sang in the church and senior center chorus groups. An avid golfer, he played several times a week after retirement. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 12, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 8700 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 8804 Washington NE, Ste. C, Albuquerque, NM 87113.

Ray -- Kurt F. Ray, 51, a former longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at his home in Lufkin, TX. He is survived by his wife, Pam Ray of Lufkin, TX; sons, Bryan Ray of 29 Palms, CA, USMC and Brandon Ray of Lufkin, TX; parents, Charles and Mercedes Ray of Albuquerque; brothers, Karl Ray and wife, Kathy of Las Cruces and Keith Ray and wife, Paula of Albuquerque; sisters, Klaudia Scott of Farmington and Kristine Sandford and husband, Peter of Los Alamos; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 12, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Frank Prieto, Celebrant. Schmidt -- Jane Schmidt, daughter of the late Crawford and Annie Harvie of El Paso, TX died July 22, 2002 at Sandia Hospice from complications of osteoporosis. Jane was born in 1919 in El Paso, TX the youngest of six children. In 1939, Jane married her best friend, Edward F. Schmidt. Ed died one month before their 50th wedding anniversary. During his career with Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company, Ed and Jane lived in Albuquerque, Gallup, Clayton and Silver City, NM. While in Silver City, Jane worked for the U.S. Forest Service advancing to the position of Auditing and Procurement for the Gila National Forest. Returning to Albuquerque in 1965 Jane worked at Kirtland AFB for Base Engineers until 1975. Ed retired from Mountain Bell the same year. Jane loved reading, Canasta, crossword puzzles, cryptoquips, politics, and her computer."Mom" lived for her daughters, Carol Overturf and husband, Gary of Albuquerque and Patricia Salars and husband, Dan of Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia."Grandma Jane" was adored by her five granddaughters and their husbands, Daphne and Matt Phillips, Jennifer and Kent Aspen, Anne and Mike Gurnee, Cyndi and Doug Alioth and Cathy and James Rylands."GG" delighted in visits and phone calls from her great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Gabrielle Phillips of Corpus Christi, TX, Joshua, Grace and Adeline Aspen of Cobden, IL, Nathaniel and Rebecca Gurnee of Portland, OR, Reed and Cade Alioth of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Madison, McKenna, Chip, Mabry and MacLayne Rylands of Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia. Jane is also survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Harvie of Brewster, MA; lifelong friend, Carol Stanke of Santa Fe, NM; special nieces, Mary Ann Meagher of San Francisco, California and Chris Lord of Brewster, MA; and friend, Mila Pohl of Albuquerque. Cremation has occurred and a Memorial Service was held at Vista Del Rio on July 24, 2002. Special thanks for all the love and support given by Dr. James Tyron, the staff and residents at Vista del Rio and the staff at Sandia Hospice.

Scott -- Mary E. Scott (Scottie),age 76 and a resident of Albuquerque for more than 30 years, died August 7, 2002 at Lovelace Hospital of complications from heart and lung disease. She was born in Waycross, GA, served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Ohio State University and went on to attain a Master's Degree at Arizona State. After teaching school in Ohio and Arizona, she changed careers and became a Real Estate Appraiser for HUD-FHA and later as a partner in Albuquerque Appraisal Associates. She is survived by her sister Marjory Blount of Forest Park, GA; brother Paul Scott of Poway, CA; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend Margaret Buchholzer. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. If you would like to remember Mary please adopt or help support a furry friend at Animal Humane Association or PACA/AAR."And though we can't see what's on deaths other side we know that our Father will richly provide all that he promised to those who believe and his kingdom is waiting for us to receive." Suiter -- Hazel Lou Suiter, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002. She is survived by her son, Steven Suiter; granddaughter, Catherine Suiter; and daughter-in-law, Judy Suiter, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Dorothy White of Bellflower, CA, and Betty Trezona of Spearfish, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Pearl Holderness of Van Nuys, CA, and Mildred Anderson of Pelham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Suiter, in 1992; and son, Gary Suiter in 1982. Hazel was born in Cheyenne, WY on November 8, 1919. She tirelessly volunteered for numerous organizations in Albuquerque over the years, including the VA Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and MADD. She enjoyed tennis and square-dancing immensely and all the friendships associated with those activities. A Memorial Service will be held at First Church of Religious Science, 3320 San Pedro NE, Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108 or the charity of your choice.
