Fleming -- Violet M. Fleming, a resident of Albuquerque for 44 years, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2002, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Her husband, John S. Fleming, preceded Violet in death. She was born March 12, 1914 in Pennsylvania. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Kosel and husband, Edward, of Albuquerque; sons, John"Jack" and wife, Josephine of Santa Fe, Richard and wife, Patty of Albuquerque; sister, Lois Hawk of Blakeslee, PA. Mrs. Fleming was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Methodist Church and the Sonata Club. In addition to being an excellent cook, Mrs. Fleming was known for taking special care of her husband, children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Vista Care Sandia Hospice in appreciation for the excellent care provided to her. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2002, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, with Funeral Service on Thursday, December 5, 2002, at 9:00 a.m. in the Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors Chapel, 3113 Carlisle NE. Gallegos -- IN MEMORIAM MICHAEL WAYNE GALLEGOS Michael Wayne Gallegos, 50, died Wednesday in Portland, Oregon. Born on January 4, 1952, in Pueblo, Colorado, he had been a resident of Vancouver since 1986. Mr. Gallegos was a jeweler, goldsmith and 1979 graduate of The Paris School of Jewelry. He was the proprietor of Michael's Fine Jewelry in Vancouver. He studied Martial Arts and held a black belt in Kenpo, for which he was titled Yadansha. He was also schooled in Judo, Kajukkenbo, Wingchun Gungfu and was working on certification in Kosho. Mr. Gallegos is survived by his wife Maureen, at home in Vancouver and two children; Amanda Knox of Austin, Texas and Devan Gallegos of Seattle, Washington. He has two sisters in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Janie Wolf and Cristine King, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and an extended family throughout New Mexico, Arizona and Arkansas. He will be loved and missed by all. A Mass in his remembrance will be said Sunday, 11:00 a.m. on December 8, 2002 at the St. Mary's Church in Ojo Caliente, N.M. Followed by a memorial service at his Aunt Lupe Sena's home.

Green -- Janis Green, 56, beloved wife, Mother, and NaNa, passed away peacefully November 30, 2002 following a courageous ten year battle with Scleroderma. Jan was born February 8, 1946 in Fonde, Kentucky to Bratcher and Lavada Wilder. In 1963 she married Gary in Michigan and together they raised three beautiful daughters. In 1980 they moved to Los Alamos where they resided until Gary's retirement. In 1998 they moved to Logan, NM to enjoy retirement in their house on the lake. NaNa was especially proud of her grandchildren, spending many good times teaching them about Jesus' love and the importance of being a family. She made an incredible difference in the lives of everyone who knew and loved her. Although Jan's illness slowly took over her body, it did not diminish her spirit. Her quiet strength was an inspiration to all. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and smile. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lavada Wilder; and a brother, Troy Edward. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Gary of Logan, NM; and three daughters, Dawn Gurule and husband, Michael, Jill Staveley and husband, Brian, and Kimberly Green and Dennis Martinez. Also surviving her are seven beautiful grandchildren, Jessica, Alyssa, and Natalee Gurule, Jordan and Danielle Staveley, and Vanessa and Kayla Martinez. In addition, Jan is survived by her father, Bratcher Wilder, and siblings; Onalee Henderson, Coy Wilder, Pauline Mays, Norma McCoy, Shirley Edds, and Thomas Wilder. The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 and Thursday, December 5, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln.,Rio Rancho. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with a Visitation one hour prior to the Service at the First Baptist Church in Logan, NM. Interment will follow in the Logan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Gurule, Brian Staveley, Edwin Bruhn, Delton Judd, James Carson, and Duel Paris. Hice -- Karen J. Hice, 47, passed away December 3, 2002 after a prolonged illness. She is survived by her children, David and Brittany Hice of Albuquerque; mother and stepfather, Maxine Hill and George Solomon of Williamsport, PA; and one brother, John Hill and wife of Cape Coral, FL; plus aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ingram -- Hattie L. Ingram, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Dowling and husband Jim of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Amy Dowling Rourke and husband, Jason of Albuquerque; grandsons, Andrew Dowling and Peter Dowling, both of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Hannah Rourke, Melissa Rourke, Zachary Rourke, and Vanessa Rourke, all of Albuquerque; brother, Robert Nelson, of Ellis, KS; brother-in-law, Harold Ingram and wife, Jeanie of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ingram was born in Ellis, KS to Axel and Hannah Nelson. She married Herb Ingram July 7, 1940 on the family's homestead. He preceded her in death September 13, 2000, after 60 years of marriage. They managed theatres in Kansas for many years. In 1958, during the Oil Boom, the family moved to Farmington and then to Albuquerque in 1966. She had been a bookkeeper in Farmington and Albuquerque, having worked for Zales, AAA of New Mexico and Van Atta Labs. She was a great fan of all sports, especially baseball. Mrs. Ingram was a very loving and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Lince -- Major Robert L. Lince, USAF, Retired, died at his home in Albuquerque, November 22, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Carole Lince; daughters, Laurie L. Chancellor and Bonnie L. Byrd of San Diego, CA and Sandra L. Going of Greenwood, SC; and five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kirtland AFB Chapel on Friday, December 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, will full military honors of his cremated remains will be held at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA. Robert loved his friends and took great enjoyment in maintaining his stamp collection. Lynn -- Ellen Lynn, resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at the age of 85. Her husband, Lloyd Lynn, preceded Ellen in death. She was born March 26, 1917, in Ohio. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Pierce and husband, Alan, of Albuquerque; son, Dennis of Peralta, sister, Althea Lynn of Springfield, OH, and brothers, Jack Styer of Deland, FL, and Kenneth Styer of Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Lynn was a member of the Fellowship Christian Reform Church for more than 15 years. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2002, from 5-8pm at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, with a graveside service on Friday, December 6, 2002, at 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Park. Following will be a memorial service at Fellowship Christian Reform Church, 4800 Indian School Road. Machin -- Edwin Dale Machin, a resident of Albuquerque for 52 years, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 2, 2002. He died of complications due to his lung disease at the hospital. Ed was born on May 30, 1928 in Columbus, OH. He met his beloved wife, Rose Marie Machin of 53 years while he was in the service, stationed in St. Louis, MO. After going to school in Chicago, IL, the couple moved to Albuquerque. Ed was employed by Sandia National Laboratories for 36 years. He worked as a member of the technical staff, a job he loved to do. During his retirement, Ed was actively involved in the New Mexico Wildlife Federation. He served as president for one year in the Albuquerque Wildlife Federation and two years with the New Mexico Wildlife Federation. Ed had a passion to preserve and protect our New Mexico Wildlife. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman. He looked forward to the yearly trips to hunt with his son, grandson, son-in-law, and friends. Ed is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Machin of Albuquerque; his daughter, Patricia Perovich and husband, Joey Perovich; grandson, Damon Deveaux; granddaughters, Alicia Deveaux and Elena Perovich of Taos. His son, Glenn Machin and wife, Terri Machin; grandson, Jude Machin and wife, Amber of Lubbock, TX; granddaughter, Michelle Machin; grandson, Christopher Machin of Albuquerque; his daughter, Nancy Caldwell and husband, Kevin Caldwell; granddaughter, Kylee Caldwell and grandson, Casey Caldwell of Albuquerque. Ed was a loving and compassionate husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed, but the lessons he taught his family will endure forever. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. on December 7, 2002 at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks N. of Paseo del Norte) with Pastor Jeff Lust, officiating. Martin -- Donald J. Martin passed away on December 1, 2002, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eunice (Freddie) Martin; son, Steven Martin; daughter, Laurie McKeough and husband, Sean; daughter, Heidi Martin; son, Terry Sciarrotta and wife, Patty of California; four grandchildren, Matt Berg and wife, Anna; Maura McKeough; Benjamin Martin and Mitchell Martin; and one great-grandchild, Kierstin Berg. A Veteran of three wars, he entered the US Army in 1943 and was on active duty for 33 years. He retired on September 1, 1976 as Commander of the Albuquerque Field Office, 901st Military Intelligence Detachment, US Army Intelligence Agency, which provided dedicated intelligence support to the Defense Nuclear Agency. Throughout his military career he served 132 months oversees and served in significantly important intelligence assignments in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the United States. In his 33 years of military service, he was awarded numerous medals including the Legion of Merit, the nation's second highest award for exceptional meritorious service. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services. Friends are invited to a gathering at the family home in celebration and remembrance of his life, on Sunday, December 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Martinez -- Toribio (Grandpa Rodie) Martinez, 73, a lifelong resident of Cuba, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2002. Toribio was born January 23, 1929 in Cuba, New Mexico. He was a kind, gentle man. He had been a cattle rancher all his life, retiring after 65 years. Toribio enjoyed hunting, was an excellent marksman, loved the outdoors. He was a"true cowboy". Toribio was a Senior Companion for seven years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Martinez in 1984. Toribio is survived by his loving wife, Ramelia of the family home; four children, Patricia Martinez of Albuquerque, Emily Montoya and husband Leroy of Cuba, NM, Anthony Martinez of Cuba, NM, and Amy Martinez of Albuquerque; two sisters, Josephita Herrera and Liva Lucero; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2002 from 5 PM to 7 PM with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM with Fr. John Boland as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in Cuba, NM. Pallbearers will be Aparcio Herrera, Bernie Martinez, Tom Raymond, Pancho Chavez, Waldo Gutierrez, and Thomas Lujan.
