BLATCHFORD -- Elmer Neil "Popi" Blatchford, 83, was born February 17, 1920. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and passed away peacefully due to a stroke in the presence of the Lord, family and friends on Sunday, November 2, 2003. Elmer was retired from Southern Union Gas Company, presently known as PNM. He was a member of the Albuquerque Senior Centers where he socialized and danced several times a week. He was an avid dancer and had a zest for life. He was a gentle and loving soul who was admired and loved by his family and many friends. He was always there for his family and was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. His loving nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Continola Blatchford; parents, Robert Samuel and Natividad Blatchford; brother, Donald Blatchford; and stepson, Gilbert T. Cotinola. He is survived by his daughter, Roxie Lee Blatchford-Sanchez and husband, Harry; stepdaughter, Pauline Silva; grandsons, Dustin Cano, Damon Cano and companion, Chuck Burton; great grandson, Jacob Neil Cano; step grandchildren, Pamela Silva, Patrick Silva and wife, Tanya, Joseph Silva, Lavern, Amadeo "Deo" and Angelo Cotinola, numerous step-great-grandchildren, and several step-great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lois Brown; brothers, Leslie Blatchford and Dana Blatchford and wife, Rosa; sister-in-law Cathy Cotinola; numerous nieces and nephews; his special companion and dance partner, Veronica Valdez; and numerous friends from the Senior Centers. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, followed by a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday morning Funeral Communion Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, with Fr. Edward Rivera as Celebrant. Place of rest will be in the Rose Garden of Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be Harry Sanchez, Leandro Candelaria, Damon Cano, Dustin Cano, Patrick Silva and Kenneth Blatchford. DROEGE -- Raymond J. Droege, age 94, passed away November 2, 2003. Raymond was born in August 1, 1909 in Meppen, Illinois. He was preceded in death by Herman and Elizabeth Droege (Mom and Pop); brothers, Lawrence, Herman Jr., and Kenneth; sisters, Verena and Mary Herman. He is survived by three brothers, John, Hubert, and Anthony, who all reside in Illinois; two sisters, Lorraine Bimslager of Golden Eagle, Illinois and Rosalie Purvis and husband, Don of Albuquerque. Raymond's New Mexico family includes niece, Susie Purvis; and great-nephews, Trevor and Gavin. He also has a nephew, Pat Purvis and family of Denver; along with numerous nieces and nephews throughout the Midwest. Raymond was a World War II Veteran having served in the South Pacific. He visited New Mexico for the first time when he was 70, and he fell in love with the Southwest. He moved to Albuquerque and called it his "home" for 24 years. He was a strong member of his church community and enjoyed many hobbies, which included gardening, reading, baseball, and clipping coupons. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. ERISMAN -- Berthella C. Erisman, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1928, died Sunday, November 2, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Sam I. Erisman of Albuquerque; son, Terry J. FLEMINS -- Lucille S. Flemins passed away on October 20, 2003 in Mountainair, NM, at the age of 84. She was retired from the Mountainair Public School System after 34 years. She is survived by her son, Gerald and wife, Darla of Albuquerque; and two daughters, Lynne Hemminway and husband, Bill of Socorro, NM and Myra Britton and husband, Dave of El Paso, TX; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.; cousins, nieces, and an aunt. She was active in P.E.O., the Coronado Club and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D.; brother, Clerence Shaw; granddaughter, Brenda Jolene; and son-in-law, James McNeil. Cremation has taken place and the family has had private services.

FORD -- Jane Naglich Ford passed away peacefully on November 4, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, born January 4, 1928 in the North Valley, the youngest child of Mary and Joseph Naglich. Survivors include her husband, M.B. Pete Ford; two daughters, Janice Larson and husband, Noel of Larkspur, CO and Debbie Garber and husband, Dennis; one son, Kenneth; three grandsons, Brian, Adrian and Colt; and two granddaughters, Brianna and Courtney. She devoted her life to being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Her friends and family will miss her greatly. The family wishes to express their thanks to Presbyterian Hospice Care. HUNT -- Helen Hunt, 76, of South Country Club Circle, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Landsun Homes. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, November 2, 2003, 3:00 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church with Pastor Brad Bennett officiating. Interment followed at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2003 at Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Helen Hunt was born in Grants, New Mexico on Tuesday, November 16, 1926. She graduated from Grants High School as the class Valedictorian. On December 3, 1944 she married Jack Hunt. They moved to Carlsbad in 1950. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Carlsbad Sportsmen's Club as well as being an avid bridge player. She also helped with Meals on Wheels at Landsun but basically she was just a mom. Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Betty; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Jack Hunt of the family home; two sons, Bart Hunt and wife, Cheri of Kansas City, Kansas, Reed Hunt and wife, Connie of Cloudcroft, New Mexico; one sister, Betty Hoss and husband, Virgil of Bakersfield, California; and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers. The family requests contributions be made in Helen's name to Landsun Homes, 2002 Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico 88220.

MAXWELL -- Elva "Doris" Maxwell, 90, a resident of Albuquerque for 44 years, passed away, Sunday, November 2, 2003. She is survived by children/step-children: Don Maxwell of Lincoln, NE, Bill "Randy" Maxwell of Lecompton, KS, Merrilee Felix and husband Gary Felix of Moriarty, Sharon Aragon and husband, Gary of Moriarty, and Darlene Maxwell and husband, Morys "Peaches" Hines of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren/step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren/step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Zimmerman. Doris was an English teacher at Albuquerque High School and Kennedy Junior High School. After retiring from the school system in 1976, she worked for the Albuquerque Journal Newspaper in which she developed curricula to use the newspaper in the classroom as an educational tool. Doris volunteered numerous hours to the local senior citizens centers, KNME television station, the Erna Ferguson Public Library, Popejoy Hall at the University of New Mexico, and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at First Church of Religious Science, 3320 San Pedro NE, with Rev. H. Patrick Pollard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the All Faiths Receiving Home, 1709 Moon St. NE, 87112 or Casa Angelica, 5629 Isleta Blvd. SW, 87105.
