GARCIA, JERRY TIMOTHY Age 83, passed away July 15, 2013, at his home in Albuquerque with his wife and family at his side. Jerry was a Master Barber for over fifty years. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born January 25, 1930, in Canon (Gilman), NM to Jose A and Lucia Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Salomon, Anselmo, and Joe, Sisters: Tina and Emilia. He is survived by a brother, George and sisters Louisa Lucero and Tina Garcia, and by his loving wife of over fifty seven years Lydia, son Edward and grandson Simon of Jackson Hole, WY, son Ernest & wife Emily and grandson Michael of Evert, WA, granddaughter Amanda & husband Stanly Githaiga and great granddaughter Lilianna of Nashville, TN, son Timothy P Garcia & wife Karla, grandson Daniel and granddaughter Olivia of Albuquerque, daughter Victoria & husband Terry Rusco of San Diego, CA, daughter Monica & husband Eddie Armijo granddaughter Samantha grandsons Andrew and Nathaniel of Rio Rancho, daughter Jerrie RoseAnn Garcia of Rome, Italy. Jerry was born and raised on a working ranch and graduated from Bernalillo High School in 1948. Jerry moved to Los Angeles at nineteen to pursue a barber's license. He worked at the LA Times as a Print Shop Operator at night and went to barber college during the days. In 1953 he returned to NM with his barber's license in hand. June 30, 1956 at San Felipe Church in old town Albuquerque Jerry married his wife Lydia Serrano. Geronimo was a successful business owner and shared with others, he was kind. He was a faithful Roman Catholic who gave of his time freely as a volunteer for the church. Jerry was a very hard worker, loyal son, brother, husband and father, but most of all Jerry loved his family. He had many loving friends and loving family. He will be missed by all those who knew him. A Visitation will take place at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE., on July 18, 2013 at 6:30 PM followed by a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on July 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Risen Savior Catholic Community Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque with Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE Albuquerque NM. MONCAYO, MANUEL SEFERINO 46 of Edgewood, died Thursday June 6th from his 5 year battle with cancer. Born, March 14, 1967 in Alamogordo, NM. Survived by his wife of 24 years, Erica Moncayo and three children. Daughters, Johnese Moncayo, Rebekah Moncayo and son Seferino Moncayo. His parents Johnnie and Dolores Moncayo and In-laws Simon and Marta Delgado, Siblings: Cindy Moncayo, John and Deb Moncayo, Richard and Tina Fouch, Matthew and Sandra Moncayo, Virginia Moncayo, Mark and Vanessa Moncayo, Rhonda Moncayo. In-laws: Kenny Chavez, Cynthia Romero, Ron Chavez, Robert and Yolanda Herrera, David and Elena Velasco, Preciliano Narvaiz as well as many nephews and nieces including great-nephews and great-nieces. Manuel was a graduate of Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, NM class of 1986. Later in his adult life he moved his family and settled in Edgewood, NM. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and trained many who admired his hard work. Manuel served his hometown Church Crossroads Bible Fellowship for the past 10 years, coached and mentored youth baseball and football teams in Moriarty, NM. He was also a loyal Washington Redskins fan. Manuel had a great passion for the great outdoors, he loved to hunt, and he raised cattle as well as other livestock and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of ranching with his family and friends. He was a true cowboy. Jim was born on October 28, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Rockford, Illinois, where he attended St. Peter's Grade School and St. Thomas High School. Jim received a BA and MA from the University of Notre Dame. He married Marilyn Cacciatore in 1962 and moved to Albuquerque in 1965, where he taught in public and private schools, including the University of Albuquerque and Sandia Girls' School (Sandia Prep.) before becoming a realtor. He received a liver transplant in 1993 and became a passionate advocate for organ donation. Jim was devoted to his family, Jim O'Leary (Gina Simon) of Albuquerque and Charlie O'Leary (Lily) of Santa Fe; and his grandson, Shamus O'Leary. Jim is also survived by his brother George O'Leary (Kay) of Rockford, IL; sister Trish O'Leary (Howard Treet) of Orange, CT; and Marilyn's sibling Helen Reilly and John Cacciatore (Nancy Kozikowski) of Albuquerque, and Charles Cacciatore (Teresa Leon Varela) of San Rafael, CA. DOKOUZIAN, SIMON MICHAEL Age 18, passed away in Chandler, AZ on March 12, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A native of Albuquerque, NM, Simon attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Rio Rancho, NM. As an avid participant of outdoor activities, he enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing and skiing with his family and enjoyed the indoor activity of video games Simon is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Janet and by his older brother, Zachary; along with his grandparents, Bob and Kathy Lento of New Jersey and Marguerite O'Brien of Florida and Jack Dokouzian of Ohio as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a 9:30 AM Rosary and a 10:00 AM Memorial Mass at St. Steven's Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248 on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. GOFF, RUTH DEESE Ruth was born on September 26, 1914 in Nappanee, Indiana to Simon and Annora Schmucker. Ruth passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. Ruth's family moved to the Bellville, Texas area in 1918. She graduated from Texas Women's University in 1939 with a degree in Home Economics and completed her master's degree in 1949. Ruth married Del Deese in 1950. Daughter Susan was born in 1953. Though Ruth moved to New Mexico in 1954, she always considered herself a Texan, fondly remembering when Texans were Democrats and not Republicans. Nancy was born in Hobbs, NM in 1956. Ruth taught in Farmington, Kirtland, Cliff, and Alamogordo, NM where she was principal at Oregon Elementary School. Ruth retired in 1978 and moved to Las Cruces in 1985 and then to Albuquerque in 1990. Ruth was actively involved in retired teacher organizations serving as President of New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees. She also served on the board of the New Mexico Retiree Health Care Authority. She was always active in her church, especially with United Methodist Women. Ruth married Harold R. Goff in 1998; moving to Brookdale Valencia Senor Living in 2002. She received outstanding care by Brookdale Assisted Living staff since June 2010 and by Hospice de la Luz staff since November 2011, notably Dr. Ortega, Rosemary, and Lucas. Her parents, siblings, husbands, and daughter Nancy Tarazoff predeceased her. Ruth is survived by daughter Susan Deese-Roberts and son-in-law Charles 'Chuck' Roberts of Albuquerque; son-in-law Ron Tarazoff and grandson Anthony (Emma) Tarazoff of Las Cruces; stepchildren Russell (Linda) Goff of Albuquerque; Lloyd Goff (Debbie Livingston) of Aurora, CO; and Nancy Goff of Denver, CO.
