HISTIA, MIGUELITA JOJOLA Age 90, dearly loved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Miguelita was born on March 28, 1924 in Isleta Pueblo, NM, where she was a tribal member. Mrs. Histia is preceded in death by her first husband Myron F. Hunt and her second husband Andres A. Histia. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Hunt, Myron Hunt and wife, Phyllis, Rosalee Lucero, Lynn Conner and husband Norman; grandchildren, Andrea B. Abeita and husband, Neil Sherer, Jamie Stickney and husband, Tom and step-grandchildren, Stephen Norman and wife, Samantha; step-great-grandchildren, Georgina and Harrison Norman; and sister, Rosenda Lucero. Miguelita served as a corporal in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during WWII. She fulfilled many roles including: dental technician, seamstress, farmer, homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She built her own home, which still stands over fifty years later. Miguelita and her husband Andres enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Europe. She was much loved by all her family and friends. The family would like to especially thank the staff at St. John's Rehabilitation Center for loving her and becoming part of our family. HAMPTON, JANE SISTEK Age 77, of Albuquerque, died on Sunday, February 8, 2015 after a long battle with leukemia. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Fred; and three sons, Ted (Patricia) of Billings, MT, Tim (Katie) of Henderson, NV and Tom (Ty) of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Patricia, Theodore and Victoria Hampton of Billings, MT and Ashley Thornton of Westwood, CA; siblings, Jean Burns of Beaver Falls, PA, Joyce (Doug) Drake of Pittsford, NY; twelve nieces and nephews; sister-in law, Barbara Sistek of Sonora, CA; and many friends. Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Dick of Long Boat Key, FL; her brother, Bill of Dundee, NY; and her brother-in-law, Joe Burns of Beaver Falls, PA. Jane was born on April 12, 1937 in Lakemont, NY to the late Clara (Tuma) and Frank Sistek. She graduated from Dundee Central School and Alfred Tech in upstate New York and worked as an executive secretary for various companies before retiring to become a full time mom and housewife. Jane and husband Fred moved to Albuquerque in 1996 from Upper Saddle River, NJ. While living there for nearly 25 years, Jane was an active member of the Saddle River Reformed Church, Friends of the Library and was one of the founding members of the Upper Saddle River Historical Society. In the 1970s, 80's and early 90's, Jane and Fred traveled extensively in the United States and Canada, and over the years visited all 50 states. She particularly loved our National Parks. After moving to Albuquerque, they both became involved in many volunteer organizations. She was an active member of The Encore Club of ABQ, the Telephone Pioneer Museum of NM and the Friends of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Jane was an avid reader, loved to entertain, garden and play cards and games. She will be remembered for her smile and laughter. Jane was cremated. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015, 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside. RODRIGUEZ, DALE Age 73, beloved and devoted husband, father, and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Life, Sunday, February 8, 2015, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Albuquerque, NM; and a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esperanza and Stella Rodriguez; and sister, Elva Pacheco. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, JoAnn Rodriguez; his daughters, Lori Rodriguez and Kathleen Rodriguez (fiance Matthew Rasmussen); sister, Rose Quintero; brothers, Alonzo Rodriguez, Nick Paul Rodriguez; and many other loving relatives and friends. Dale will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. WAGNER, REGINA (GINA) age 50, a resident of Corrales, NM passed away suddenly Thursday, February 5, 2015. Gina is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Anthony; children, Justin, Roman, Damian, Christian, and Ashley; her mother, Fran Tenorio-Becker and husband, Richard; her father, Richard Herrera; sister, Carla Herrera and Martin Schindler; niece, Lena Schindler; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gus and Arlene Wagner; brothers-in-law, Jim Wagner, and Bobby Wagner, and their families, sister-in-law, Gina Wagner, and her family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her special auntie, Kay Tenorio. MEYER, BARBARA CLEAVELAND ALLEN Barbara Cleaveland Allen Meyer passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Carlsbad, NM. She was born December 2, 1915 to Edgar and Verna Allen in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Rockford College in 1938 and from Mount Holyoke College in 1940 with a Master's degree in zoology. Meyer subsequently worked at the Columbia University-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. She married Norman Meyer in 1941 and settled in New Jersey after WWII. Except for periods of time when the family lived in Mexico and Peru, Mrs. Meyer worked as a biology teacher, secretary, librarian and laboratory assistant at Rutgers University and the UNM School of Medicine. She retired in 1980. However, she saw her principal occupation as a homemaker. She was always active in church activities. After retiring, Mrs. Meyer helped establish a library at Mountainside Church in Cedar Crest, NM and was a docent at the New Mexico Natural History Museum in Albuquerque as well as at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park in Carlsbad, where her special love was the Reptile House. She served as deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad. She traveled extensively in foreign countries and loved classical music, science and the outdoors. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman and her sisters: Lois Jane Truesdell and Elizabeth Butler. Survivors include her children: Elizabeth "Libby" Hooper and husband, Philip of Glen Haven, CO, Allen Meyer and wife, Kathleen of Boulder CO, Robert "Tito" Meyer and wife, Laura of Las Cruces, NM, Barbara Duffin and husband, Tom of Carlsbad, NM, Norman Meyer and wife, Millie of Albuquerque, NM as well as 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. SEXTON, KENNETH D. MAJ. (USAF) RET. Age 77, passed away at his home February 6, 2015 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with Parkinson's which he fought for five years. Ken was a decorated veteran serving in both the Korean and Vietnam wars early in his military career. He was commissioned in the Air Force in 1962 and stationed at Shaw AFB where he flew in the B-66 Squadron. He was a navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer in the B-52 in Vietnam. Stationed in Amarillo, Homestead, Grand Forks, and Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio where he retired in 1979 and after went into private industry for another twenty years. Ken earned his electrical engineering degree at AFIT WPAFB; Dayton, Ohio. He married his loving wife Trina Cruz in 1963. They had two daughter's of which he was very proud. Traveling and playing golf for many years was his passion after retirement. Ken was a simple, unassuming, and giving man. Everything he did was done with precision and skill living his life with honor and dignity until the very end. He is survived by his wife, Trina, of 52 years; and his daughters, Tinley (Michel) and Debra (Tom). Visitation will take place at the FRENCH-Lomas Chapel on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A private funeral will follow.
