Fate -- Donald R. Fate, a retired oil industry executive and long time resident of New Mexico, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2002, at the age of 76. Born March 13, 1925 and raised in Bellaire, Michigan, he graduated with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1944. He served his country as an Ensign in the United States Navy in the final days of World War II. On September 9, 1947 he arrived in Saudi Arabia to begin what would be an illustrious 40 year career with the Arabian American Oil Company, Aramco, the largest oil production company in the world. Working his way through a progression of key jobs in the company's oil operations, Mr. Fate became a Vice President of Aramco in 1968, Senior Vice President of oil operations in 1979 as well as President and CEO of Tapline, an Aramco subsidiary, and the largest trans-national pipeline company in the Middle East. Not long after his arrival in Arabia, Don met Marge Williams, a young secretary from Loving, New Mexico. Their wedding in Geneva, Switzerland, on April 19, 1950 was the beginning of 52 years of marriage and a family of three daughters and seven grandchildren. An avid baseball and basketball player in his early years and an expert tennis player and golfer later on, Don generously volunteered as a referee for countless hundreds of basketball and baseball games during his life in Arabia. Additionally he was an accomplished Duplicate Bridge player and active organizer of tournaments in both Arabia and Bellaire, Michigan. In May of 1986, he retired to live in Albuquerque, spending his summers in his childhood hometown of Bellaire in the upper Michigan peninsula. Mr. Fate is survived by his wife, Marge; three daughters, Sydney Fate Barger and husband, Timothy, of Vista, CA, Stephanie Fate-Dixon and husband, Frank of Olivenhain, CA and Victoria Fate Gorrell and husband, Gregory, of Kennett Square, PA; and his sister, Karin Bargar and husband, Jim, of Bellaire, MI and their three children. Although he will be deeply missed, he will always be remembered by all that knew and loved him as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and an honest man with a gentle heart. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE at 2:00 p.m. Private disposition will take place in Bellaire, MI at a later date. Wherritt -- Rear Admiral Holman Rutherford Wherritt, USPH (Ret) passed away Thursday, February 14, 2002. Rosary will be recited, Monday, February 18, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Deacon Alex Trujillo reciting of John XXIII Catholic Community. A mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in John XXIII Catholic Community officiated by Father Donald Starkey on Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. A short Catholic Service will be conducted at the crypt. Claffey -- Donald Joseph Claffey, 67, passed away on February 14, 2002 after a stay in the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. He is survived by a loving wife, Dora; daughter Cindee; a beautiful granddaughter, Selena and fiancE9 Kirby Odegard, and Kirby's son Mike; great-grandchildren, Cruz and Andrew, all of Albuquerque. Don was retired from the US Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. Graveside services with military honors, will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at 11:00am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Crowie -- William H. Crowie, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Gail Downey and husband, Thomas L. of Albuquerque; grandson, Brian Downey and wife, Julie of Las Vegas, NV, and granddaughter, Erin Downey of Alameda, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Crowie, in 1985. Mr. Crowie was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1932 and received his Master's degree from The University of Buffalo. He taught Business Law and Bookkeeping for the Niagara Falls Schools and then became an administrator of the Business Department. He retired in December 1969 and moved to Lantana, FL where he resided until moving to Albuquerque. He was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Monday, February 18, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE Ave, in the Chapel with Rev. Marty Singleterry, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Brian Downey, Archie Grine, Ryan Peil, Randall Partin, Donald Small and Mark Stein. Neiswander -- Roberta Idell, age 88, passed away on February 13, 2002. Roberta was a long-time resident, having moved to Albuquerque in 1957 with Sinclair Oil as an executive secretary. Roberta is survived by her sone Donald W. Dreibelbis of Denver, Colorado; her daughter Diane I. and her husband Richard A. Saunderson of Albuquerque, NM; her stepson Joe B. and his wife Patricia Neiswander of Albuquerque, NM. Kenneth C. Neiswander, her husband, preceded her. This lady of optimism and spirit will truly be missed by all who knew her. The family thanks the staff of Laurel View Healthcare for their thoughtful and attentive care during Roberta's stay. Interment will take place at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Albuquerque. Evans -- Minnie R. Evans, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died Thursday, February 14, 2002. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nicki Evans of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Sarah McMahon and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Michelle Ghormley and husband, Chad of Dallas, TX and Joanna Evans of Salt Lake City, UT; grandson, Timothy Evans of Albuquerque; great-granddaughters, Ashley Coogler of Albuquerque and Catherine Ghormley of Dallas, TX; and great-grandson, T.J. Coogler of Albuquerque. Mrs. Evans was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menual NE, with Rev. Charles E. Price officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum. Clark -- Esther H. Clark, 81, went to be with her Lord on February 13, 2002. She was a member of Faith Chapel for over 43 years, a member of T.O.P.S. for 35 years, and was a 4-H leader of the Barcelona 4-H Club for 25 years. Esther was a beloved wife of 51 years to Donald Clark. She was the beloved mother of Patricia Laven and Raymond Whilser and wife,, Jackie; beloved grandmother to Loring Laven, US Army enlisted, Rebekah Turner of Seattle, Dona, Larry, and William Whisler all of Illinois; beloved great grandmother of 14 great grandchildren, and also survived by many other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Faith Chapel, 1726 Girard NE on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mable Dawe and Pastor Tom Salmon officiating. Davis -- Jean Kennard, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Stoutenborough & husband, Rich of Kirkwood, MO; her son, Donald K. Davis & wife, JoAnn of Albuquerque, and her son, James H. Davis of Santa Fe. Her seven grandchildren are Claudine Fairchild & husband, Patrick, Jeremy Bentley & wife, Jessica, Graham Davis & wife, Lauri, Anne Davis, Ruth Davis, Raquel Davis and Carmen Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hutchins Davis on September 24, 1983. Jean was born June 6, 1922 in Salt Lake City, UT, the daughter of James R. Kennard and Rebecca Adams Miner. She graduated from the University of Utah in 1945 with a BSN. Jean served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from 1945 until 1947. On January 31, 1947 she married Frank Hutchins Davis. Jean worked as a school nurse for Albuquerque Public Schools from 1960 to 1982. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Retired Officers' Wives Club and a Past President of the New Mexico Nurses Association. Services will be at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE on Saturday, February 16, 2002. Visitation with the family will began at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 noon. Private interment of cremains will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Caudill -- Garron Caudill, age 35, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 8, 2002. A longtime New Mexico resident, Garron will be missed by his friends and housemates, Donald Birdsall and Raymond ťChulieť Fernandez; his devoted ResCare staff, Grace Smith, Amy Lenhard, Maria Howard, Melanie Madrid, Dorrine Ortiz, Antwainette Lucero, Debra Ortiz, Kim Schattschneider, Debora Johanson, Heidi Bergstrasser, Marsha Rupe, Lynn Kenney and John Foreman; his guardian, Kathy Abeyta; his therapists; case manager; friends at Adelante; and family in Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ottalie Caudill. He formerly resided at Los Lunas Hospital and Training School and ARCA. Garron enjoyed old-time country music, the outdoors, New Mexico cuisine and his favorite game shows. His character, humor and spirit will forever fill our hearts with inspiration. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and hospice staff with Lovelace Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 14, 2002, at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
