Obituary for Crowie

William H. Crowie, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Gail Downey and husband, Thomas L. of Albuquerque; grandson, Brian Downey and wife, Julie of Las Vegas, NV, and granddaughter, Erin Downey of Alameda, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Crowie, in 1985. Mr. Crowie was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1932 and received his Master's degree from The University of Buffalo. He taught Business Law and Bookkeeping for the Niagara Falls Schools and then became an administrator of the Business Department. He retired in December 1969 and moved to Lantana, FL where he resided until moving to Albuquerque. He was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Monday, February 18, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE Ave, in the Chapel with Rev. Marty Singleterry, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Brian Downey, Archie Grine, Ryan Peil, Randall Partin, Donald Small and Mark Stein. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc. of NM, 525 San Pedro NE, #101, 87108. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
