SIEFERT -- John Douglas Siefert, a Las Vegas, New Mexico resident, died of a heart attack at Alta-Vista Regional Hospital, Friday, December 26, 2008. He was 66. John was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Tom A. and Ida C. Siefert on July 7, 1942. They named him John Douglas out of respect for a great WWII general. John was a resident of New Mexico all his life and graduated in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a member of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. He liked to drive big 18 wheel trucks and he grew up farming and ranching in New Mexico. He enjoyed exploring, camping, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom A. Seifert; mother, Ida C. Seifert; and brother, William S. Seifert. He is survived by one brother, Tom R. Seifert of Arboles, Colorado. A Graveside Service is planned at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM at Edith and Menaul on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. December 31, 2008.

THURMAN -- Glen Woodrow Thurman, DDS, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Jayne McDonald and husband, Randy; son, Fred Thurman and wife, Elsie; grandchildren, Griffin and Piper McDonald, Brady Thurman, Hunter Thurman and wife, Emily; and great-grandson, Mckinley Thurman. Glen was born on a farm in rural Nebraska, attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and lived in his home state until he joined the Navy and served during World War II in San Diego. After the war, a Navy buddy convinced Glen to come with him to New Mexico, where he met his wife, Sarah Jane Thurman. Glen made his home in Albuquerque, raised his family and had a successful dental practice for forty years. He was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he and Sarah were active for many years. Services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Chapel. TILLS -- Kathryn June Tills, 95, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, December 28, 2008. She is survived by her son, Jack Tills and wife Halli of Sandia Park; grandchildren, Lara Freidline and husband Mark of Oxford, OH and Matt Tills and wife Laura of Madison, WI; great-grandchildren, Samuel and August Tills and Jacob and Nina Freidline. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tills in 1982. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 12121 N. Hwy 14 in Cedar Crest. Interment will be at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park. TOWNSEND -- Phyllis L. Townsend, age 94, a long time resident of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2008. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Singkanati; two grandchildren Erika Lin Prado and husband Onelio, Thomas Prasit Singkanati and wife Melinda; four great-grandchildren Teryk Singkanati, Serena Prado, Jonathan Prado and Armando Prado. ADAMS -- Robert L. "Bob" Adams, 95, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on December 23, 2008. He was born May 22, 1913, in Bernardston, MA. He grew up in Hopkinton, MA, graduating from high school there in 1930. Active in little theatre groups in Framingham and New Bedford, MA, and in Dayton, OH. Mr. Adams also belonged to a professional theatre group in Portland, ME. He worked in radio broadcasting for 25 years in Worcester, MA, Chicago, IL, and Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Adams was engaged in the sales and program advertising for KHFM and the Santa Fe Opera in the 1970s. He traveled New Mexico and Texas as a sales representative until his retirement in 1976. Then, Mr. Adams turned to writing short stories and novels. He received awards from the Southwest Writers' Workshop in Albuquerque, the Society of Southwestern Authors in Tucson, AZ and the national writers' publication, the Writers Digest. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife Lorris B. Adams, of Albuquerque, NM; and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Adams, and a daughter, Carole Vanderford. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE with Fr. Jack Russell and Deacon Sam Stearns presiding. ALVINO -- Josephine Ann Fratini Alvino, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947 passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008 after a long illness. Josephine was born in Corona, Queens, NY on Monday, February 6, 1922 to Urbano and Palmina Muleri Fratini, who were both immigrants from Mondavio, Italy. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Daniel John Alvino, in 1985, and her sisters, Mary Garofalo Binetti in 1986 and Louise Dietrick in 2006. She is survived by her four daughters and family, Rosemary and Donald Ditmore of Sierra Vista, AZ, Giovanna Alvino and Tonino Di Giacomantonio of Columbia, SC, Terry Caskey and Jim Doane of Scottsdale, AZ, Virginia and Norm Ehler of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Lee Bossard and Chase Caskey, Antonio Di Giacomantonio, Grace and Daniel Ehler. Josephine enjoyed giving her time to help others. She was one of the founding members of the Italian Women's Charity Club, a Girl Scout leader for ten years, and a longtime member of the Gamma Delta chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International service organization. She also volunteered for the Bernalillo County Republican Party and New Mexico Right to Life. The family would graciously like to thank all of Josephine's many caregivers for the care and friendship she received from her Hospice team and Aspen Care Home which will always be cherished as they let this chapter of her life be handled with grace and dignity. BAKER -- J. Norman Baker, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Thursday, December 25, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Baker; sons, J. Allan Baker and wife Julie of Dona Ana, NM and Stuart Baker and wife Diane of Los Alamos, NM; daughter, Linda Perez and husband, Joe of College Station, TX; seven grandchildren, Luke, Seth, Zach, Greg, Corey, James, and Jenna; sister, L. Virginia Mashburn of Independence, MO. Norman served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Sandia National Labs after 30 years of service. He has been a longstanding member of Sombra Del Monte Christian Church. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sombra Del Monte Christian Church, 2525 Vermont NE. CAMPBELL -- Charlene Janet Mann Campbell, 73, a lifelong resident of Corrales, NM, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at home. She is survived by her children; Sean Charles Campbell, Shannan K. Usiak and husband Wayne, Robert Cortney Campbell, Colin Mann Campbell and wife Elizabeth; her precious grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Campbell, Holly and Kyle Usiak, and Tyler and Aubry Campbell; her sisters, Ruby Martin, Eva Timmons, June Longenbaugh, Katherine Huxel, and Dorothy Boykin. Many caring nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors and her special cat, Donnie, also survive her. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Mann Jr.; mother, Beulah Mann; sister Betty Howard; and brother James Mann. She was devoted to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be deeply missed by many. She loved being outdoors taking care of her farm, cows, and beautiful roses. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, with Dale Coffing, officiating. Ennichement will follow at the Centennial Urn Garden at Sunset Memorial Park. COOPER -- William A. Morales Cooper Known as Billy Cooper born February 5, 1955 deceased December 14, 2008 in Hollywood, CA. Billy lived for many years in, and had close ties to Albuquerque. He leaves behind his son, Ryan Cooper; his sister, Nancy Morales-Benitez; and his nephew, Michael Jones-Morales. Billy also leaves behind uncountable friends, and you know who you are. Any of us who had the chance to appreciate his vivacity, could not help but be influenced by his enthusiasm. Sometimes profoundly. He was truly the original "one of a kind" and his passing leaves a permanent fracture in our lives.
