HUMPHREYS -- Randall Mark Humphreys unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, after a recurrence of kidney cancer. Randy was born in 1950, and grew up amid the oil fields of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. He was voted 'Best Groomed' at Lovington High School in 1969 and our handsome Randy went on to attend Eastern New Mexico University. There, he established many relationships that would last a lifetime among his fraternity brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha and he met Darla Schlientz, who he would marry in 1973. In 1978, Randy moved to Lubbock, TX where he earned his Master's Degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University and all things Red Raider became one of the great joys of his life. As a Certified Public Accountant, Randy moved to San Antonio, TX in 1981 to work for the accounting firm giant, KPMG Peat Marwick. He loved living in San Antonio where he had family near, made good friends and discovered Port Aransas, TX, the site of many family vacations and happy memories. In 1987, Randy moved to Albuquerque and worked for the other accounting firm giant, Arthur Andersen. Professionally, Randy was most proud to have established his own accounting practice in 1998. Personally, Randy didn't care to be the life of the party but if you did engage him in conversation, you met a thoughtful and intelligent man who could catch you off-guard with his razor sharp sense of humor. Randy leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Darla; his beloved children, Lindsay and her husband, Blake, Allison and her husband, Daniel, and Mark; dearly loved grandchildren, Bryson, Jerran, Kaylah and Lenna who always brought a smile to his face; his parents, Allen and Jean Humphreys; his grandmother, Quova Humphreys; his brother, Ron; and many extended family members. Adored by all dogs who ever met him, Randy also leaves behind a treasured cocker spaniel. Services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel. A Texan at heart, Randy will be buried in Andrews, TX. Please visit our online guestbook for Randy at RememberTheirStory.com French 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
