FERRO -- Jean Margaurete Ferro, 80, of Albuquerque, passed away on July 11, 2009. She is survived by her son; David E. Ferro of Tallahassee, Florida and daughter; Linda S. Ferro of Oceanside, California, longtime friend and companion; Roland Soto and the entire Soto family and her precocious Scottish Terrier, Pookie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Ferro, Jr. in 1990, her parents, Thomas R. Cadle in 1969, her mother; Mary D. Cadle in 1991, a brother; SSgt. Clifford E. Cadle, USAAF in 1943, and her dear friend; Della Mainetti Perea in 2009. She was born on August 30, 1928 in Wyandotte, Michigan and grew up in Albuquerque where she was a graduate of Albuquerque High School. She was recognized as the Honor Queen, Bethel No. 2, Order of Job's Daughters. Jean married Charles J. Ferro, Jr. on February 6, 1947 and was a homemaker. She also owned and managed Evergreen Mobile Home Park. Jean was an active member of Woodman of the World Lodge 430 in Belen. She loved to travel, garden, and fish, while enjoying crafts and photography as well. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Jean on Friday, July 17, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. PADILLA -- Bennie M. Padilla, 89, returned to his Lord, Friday, July 10, 2009. He was born to Lotario and Rosa Padilla of Albuquerque. Bennie worked for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 42 years of service. During this time, he owned and operated the Armijo Grocery, and Gas Station, was a car salesman and worked on the family ranch. He was very strong, warm, and a very hard worker. Bennie loved his family, which were his number one priority. Survivors include his three daughters and one son, Soila Brewer, Cecilia Moraga, Lucille Ortiz, and Bennie Padilla, Jr. all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Deborah Moraga, Yvette Padilla, Pete Candelaria and wife, Laurie, Michael Moraga, and wife, Naomi, Roxanne Garner and husband, Clay, Rhonda Padilla, Jason Ortiz, Lia Padilla, Josh Ortiz; nine great-grandchildren, Damian Padilla, Timothy Moraga, Alyssa Moraga, Kacey, Savannah, Jordyn Garner, Desiree Padilla, and Daniel Nieto; three great-great-grandchildren, Ian Candelaria, Destiny and Marcus Padilla. Bennie was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Padilla; his mother, Rosa Montoya; and one sister, Josephine Padilla. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, where friends may attend for visitation one hour prior. HALL -- Juanita "Nita" Hall, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2009. Nita loved Jesus, her family and friends with a selfless love. LOVATO -- Fred (Lico) Lovato, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2009. Mr. Lovato was married to the love of his life, Ofracia. They were married for 57 years when she was called away to heaven where she has been waiting for Fred to join her. Mr. Lovato is survived by his children, Katherine Nienow and husband, David, Lillian Retallack and husband, Roger, John Lovato, Linda Sanchez and husband, Denny, Roberta Woods and husband, RJ, and Fred Lovato III; a brother, Leonard Lovato; grandchildren, Judi Nienow, Jeremy Nienow, Lillian Hughes, Rudy Lovato, Daniel Lovato, Mercie Pisa, Charles Retallack, Antoinette Rivera, Cita Montoya, Denny Sanchez, Monica Sanchez, Clarence Woods, Rachel Woods, Vanessa Lovato, River Wind Lovato; twenty two great-grandchildren and his faithful dog, Teena Maree. Mr. Lovato proudly served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was stationed on the USS Tennessee. Mr. Lovato touched the lives of so many and had always happily helped many in need of his skills and kind words. His honesty and integrity were above reproach. Mr. Lovato taught his children and grandchildren to be independent and strong and they learned by his example, wisdom and guidance. The love he showed us all can never be replaced and will be with us always. Through our faith we are comforted to know that he is with his wife, Ofracia, his son, Rudy and his baby daughter, Ignacita. Mr. Lovato is also preceded to heaven by his parents and a brother. Mr. Lovato will be missed beyond words but he will always be in our hearts. This is his legacy of which he was very proud. Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 2009, in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Lupe Lopez, reciter. Final visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with a Communion Service to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Deacon Pablo Le Febre, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nienow, Rudy Lovato, Daniel Lovato, Tyler Hughes, Charles Retallack, Denny Sanchez, Clarence Woods and River Wind Lovato. NICHOLS -- Harry Ross Nichols died on Monday, June 22, 2009. He was 85 years old. Harry was born on August 23, 1923 to Winfield & Herdella Nichols in East Jordan, Michigan. Harry is survived by his wife, Anne Justine Neuberg-Nichols, his two daughters, Patricia Marinelli and Lynn Soltero, and by his two granddaughters, Geriann Coultas and Rebecca Smith. Harry and Anne's only son, Win Charles Nichols, died the previous year from cerebral palsy with advanced scoliosis. Harry accomplished much in his life. After being enlisted in the Air Force for well over 30 years, he retired as an (E-8) Senior Master Sergeant in 1973. He later became a large part of the Masonic Lodge and opened his own small engine repair business, Nichols Saw Shop. Harry was a wonderful and well respected husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. No Services are scheduled at this time.
