VALENTI -- Aloisia Valenti, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979 passed away on February 8, 2010 after a short battle with cancer in her home surrounded by her family. Aloisia, also known as Louise, was born in Munich, Germany on November 5, 1930 to Luise Fischer and Josef Prinstner. She came to The United States of America in 1952. She is survived by her spouse, Carmine of 51 years; children, Rose Camp of Albuquerque, NM, Dominick Valenti, wife Sandra of Madera, CA, and Gina FitsEmons, husband Macy of Edgewood, NM; grandchildren, Joia Brooks, Alex Cook, Stephen Camp, Sandy Cook, Joseph FitsEmons and Mikey FitsEmons; great-grandchildren Gaige Brooks and Jaylynn Henneborn; sister, Renate Ammermuller and her children Richard Ammermuller, wife Kathleen of Peekskill, NY, Anita Baker, husband Curt of Albuquerque, NM; plus sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country. Louise was known for her love of family, animals and collecting broaches. She loved to find a good bargain at goodwill for fun. She was a homemaker and loved having her children and family around her. She was known for her loud lively spirit, she had a way of making each person feel special. Louise and her sister Renate were inseparable, they saw each other everyday. She was known as Omi to her Grandchildren. We love you Mom, Omi, Sister, Tante and Hun. Your spirit lives on in us. ANAYA -- Amadita "Amy" G. Anaya, 74, passed away at her home in Tajique, NM on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Amy was born in Tajique on December 17, 1935 to Frank and Emilia (Sanchez) Garcia. She was a lifelong resident of Tajique. Amy married her loving husband of 54 years, Herman Anaya, on October 22, 1955. She was a member of the San Antonio Catholic Church in Tajique. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emilia Garcia; daughter, Baby Jeanette Anaya; brothers, Epimeo Garcia, Richardo Garcia, and Elijio Garcia; great-granddaughter, Ruby Barela; and niece, Annabel Lesperance. She is survived by her husband Herman Moises Anaya Sr. of Tajique; sons; Herman K. Anaya Jr. of Tajique, Martin R. Anaya and his wife Helen of Tajique, Larry Anaya and his wife Senaida of Estancia; daughters, Jeanette D. Barela of Tajique, Lorraine R. Perea of Tajique, and Polly A. ARELLANES -- Manuelita Eloise Arellanes passed away February 7, 2010, at the family home in Albuquerque, NM. She was 93 and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry V. Arellanes; and her son, Ted F. Arellanes. Survivors include her daughter Hendra L. Marciani of Edgewood, Kentucky and Naples, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Ginny Arellanes of Albuquerque; siblings Matilda Gurule and Arthur Trujillo of Espanola; three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal caregiver Rebeca Gellardo. Born in Espanola, Eloise began her teaching career a few years before receiving her degree at St. Josephs Teachers College in 1950. She then taught for the Albuquerque Public Schools. In 1955 she was hired by the U.S. Government to go to Quito, Ecuador, to help update the Equadorians' teaching methods. After six months, the family returned to Albuquerque and she resumed teaching for A. P. S., retiring in July 1979. Eloise enjoyed stitchery, ceramics, folk art and had a passion for genealogy. She traced her and her husbands families to the mid 1600's. Some of her possessions and genealogy research will be donated to the Museum of Spanish Colonial Arts in Santa Fe, NM and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque. She will be remembered as an outstanding teacher; a doting grandmother; and a confident woman ahead of her time. Eloise will be cremated. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Riverside Family Funeral Home in Espanola. Mass, at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010, at the Sacred Heart Church in Espanola. BACA -- Norbert H. Baca, 72, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died on February 7, 2010. Norbert is survived by his wife, Lupe of 44 years; son, Dominic and wife, Yvonne of Albuquerque; daughter, Marisa and husband, James of Denver; grandchildren, Adam, Antoinette, Nichole, Daniel and Diego Baca; Chris Poleco; Elyse and Liam Keller; and great-grandson, Sean Gonzales; brothers, JD and Alfonso Baca, sister, Martha Montoya, nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Baca was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Amalia; and twin brother, Gilbert Baca. Mr. Baca served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany, thereafter worked at the US Post Office. He was a member of Queen of Heaven for 36 years, Knights of Columbus. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. BROWN -- Margaret "Marge" (Flood) Brown, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971 died Friday, February 5, 2010. She was born to Frank and Rose Flood in Woodstock, IL. She is survived by her son, Stephen Brown of Springfield, VA and his wife, Barbara Hammond; grandchildren, Conor Brown of Lawrence, KS, Liam Brown of Springfield, VA, Stephen Doerfler of Pasadena, CA and David Doerfler of Olympia, WA; great-grandchildren, Dean, Matthew and Ryan Doerfler of Pasadena, CA; nephews, Charles Flood of Burr Ridge, IL and John Flood of The Villages, FL; and nieces, Nancy Flood Glaze of Algonquin, IL and Jayne Flood Salb of Boise, ID; Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt; daughter, Denise; and brother, Frank J. Flood, Jr. of Woodstock, IL. Mrs. Brown was very active in St. Bernadette's Parish and was a woman whose devout faith sustained her. She was 100% Irish, had a razor sharp memory and loved basketball. She will be remembered for her generosity to her family members, friends, and many charities. CHAVEZ -- Jacobo J. Chavez, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Mr. Chavez is survived by his five children, Agnes Chavez, Raymond Chavez and wife, Debbie, Roy Chavez and wife, Bonnie, Julian Chavez, Orlando Chavez and wife, Julie; his daughter-in-law, Connie Chavez; two stepdaughters, Stella Saavedra and husband, Danny, Amelia Briones and husband, Gilbert; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, and friends; his four babies, (dogs)Scrappy, Pebbles, Dadita, and Scubby. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Julianita Chavez; his wives, Virginia and Agueda Chavez, his son, Johnny Chavez; his sister, Virginia Rey; his brother, Raymond Chavez; his half-sister, Tia Maria; his half-brother, Juan. Mr. Chavez was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during W.W.II. DOW -- Frank Elisha Dow was born August 4, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM. Frank grew up in Tajique, NM. At the age of 15, he entered into the US Army to serve during World War II in the Pacific. He served in Tokyo during the occupation of Japan and later in Shanghai China and Okinawa. After the war, he returned to New Mexico to earn his High School Diploma. He worked as a parking lot attendant where he met his wife, Loretta Tartaglia. They married August 27, 1951. He worked six years for the US Post Office, and for ten years at ACF, a government defense contractor. When ACF closed in 1967 he went to work for the Defense Atomic Support Agency DOD/DNA for the nuclear test facility in Nevada. After his retirement in 1989 he held a part time job working for the Springfield Research Facility in Springfield Virginia as a data analyst for the next 10 years. Frank had a long, productive life and had experienced first hand some of the many historical events of the last century. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Loretta; his children, Lynda Benedict, Bill Dow and wife, Sandy, Diane Van der Geest and husband, Jimmy, Sandi Rogers and husband, Dean, and Staci Baca and husband, Chris; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at French ~ Wyoming Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 11, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. DOYLE -- Virginia Maria Puccini, born October 28, 1922 in Viareggio, Italy, beloved wife, friend, and Albuquerque entertainment matriarch passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Virginia was an international dancer, trapeze artist and acrobat, and headlined throughout the United States and Europe. Virginia's experiences included being a trapeze and acrobatic artist with Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus, she was invited to appear on the famous Ed Sullivan Show, appeared in Marlene Dietrich's "Golden Earrings" in 1947 and was a life-long member of AGVA. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 43 years, Thomas P. Doyle, her parents Luigi and Iole Puccini, and grandparents Oreste and Maria Bachechi. Virginia was raised in Albuquerque. As an Albuquerque High School student, she opened the Voncel Dance Studio in Downtown Albuquerque, and then began her dance career. After her retirement from performing, Virginia and her husband Tom ran nightclubs in Kentucky, Texas and New Mexico. Virginia was on the cutting edge of Albuquerque's Downtown revitalization when, in 1981, she transformed a dilapidated movie theater and lamp shop in a boarded up downtown area into the Historic El Rey Theater and Puccini's Golden West Saloon, one of the Southwest's foremost performance venues. Virginia had a heart of gold and a great deal of compassion for others. Until the end of her life, Virginia tried to help any person who asked, and often did without herself. Her philosophy was always to try and give someone work and to help give them a new life. Virginia is survived by her sister, Adelina Puccini Timofeyew, brother, Orestino Puccini, nieces and nephews Ekaterina (Kathy) Timofeyew Zimmer and husband Michael Peters, Louis Puccini and wife Joan, Larry Puccini and wife Karen, Richard Puccini and wife Cassie, and Annette Puccini Crabtree and her husband Bob, several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, as well as dear friend Diana Bernal. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 with viewing at 6:30 p.m. and rosary at 7:30 p.m. at French - University Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. JEFFRIES -- Kenneth Eldon Jeffries, age 60 was called home by his Lord on Monday, February 8, 2010 after a long illness. He was born on July 11, 1949 in Albuquerque, NM to Vern and Dorothy Jeffries. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Irene and their children, one son, Clint Jeffries and wife, Jaime; daughters, Carolyn Podshadley and husband, Rob, Leanne Martel; and six grandchildren, Allaynah and Michael Jeffries, Dee Dee and Mara Podshadley, Ryan and Christopher Campbell. Kenneth is also survived by one brother, Vern Jeffries and wife, Karen; one sister, Judy Lynch and husband, Ed and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Dorothy Jeffries. Kenneth had a passion for life which extended to an undying love for his family and a true love for all sports including his Chicago Bears. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, astronomy, coaching baseball and softball. Kenneth was a master diesel mechanic and retired from Yellow Freight Sys. Inc., which he took great pride in. His unique sense of humor and spice of life will never be forgotten. His memory will always live in our hearts.
