Van Hammond -- Earl Van Hammond, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, February 24, 2000. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Ann Van Hammond of Albuquerque; children, Daniel J. Van Hammond and wife, Vickie of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Kathy Pointer and husband, Jeff of Albuquerque and Tony Van Hammond and wife, Cathy of Appleton, WI; grandchildren, Joseph, Christine, David, Samuel, Jacob, Amber and Bethany; sisters, Angeline Van de Berg and husband, Bill and Josephine Sanderfoot, all of Kimberly, WI; sisters-in-law, Wilma Van Hammond of Kimberly, WI and Myrtle Van Hammond of Appleton, WI; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Christine; brothers, Jack, Joe and Clarence; and sister, Martha. Mr. Van Hammond was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Church. Cremation has taken place. Rosary will be recited, Monday, 8:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, 2532 Vermont NE. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Monday, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, 2532 Vermont NE, with Father Ronald Bruckner, Celebrant. Wilson -- David B. Wilson, 49, passed away Friday, February 25, 2000 at his home in Lemitar, NM. He was born December 16, 1950 to Marvin L. and Helen Anderson Wilson in Bryan, TX. He was raised in Las Cruces, NM and graduated from Las Cruces High School. He was a graduate of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. He was employed by the New Mexico Tech Physical Plant in Socorro, NM where he was an architect. He is survived by his mother, Helen Wilson of California and brother, Steve Wilson of California. Services will be held Tuesday, February 29, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Judy Romero-Oak officiating. Cremation arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.

Aragon -- Premetivo"Tivo" Aragon, born March 24, 1922, went to prepare a place for us in heaven with the Lord on February 24, 2000. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dora Aragon; two sons, Robert Aragon and wife, Del Marie of Bernalillo, Tim Aragon and wife, Colleen of Los Lunas; four daughters, Joelene and husband, Luis Garcia, Darlene and husband, Fred Mora, Grace and husband, Frank Padilla and Crystal Gonzales-Aragon, all of Bernalillo. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; three brothers, Avarsito and Felicito Aragon of Bernalillo and Patricio Aragon of Alamogordo; one sister, Tomasita Garcia of Bernalillo; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Premetivo served in the Army during WWII, he retired from Bernalillo Public Schools and also worked for Alameda Mortuary. Premitivo was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4243 and served as Post Commander. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus/ Premetivo loved to dance. He loved his family and he loved life. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be today from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Pallbearers will be Mario Dominguez, Delfred Aragon, Larry Lucero, Ernie Aragon, Max Aragon, and Billy Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be David, Mark, BJ Thomas, Wilbert, Peter, Phillip, Nicholas, Jonathan and Joe Chris. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St. Norbert R. Blea -- Leandro Blea, 78, beloved and devoted father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 24, 2000. Mr. Blea was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corina Blea; and a grandson, Lawrence Seligman. He is survived by his loving children, David Blea, Patricia Seligman and Judy Morales and husband, Don; his precious grandchildren, Jennifer Zamora and husband, Jake, Donald and Amanda Morales, Rodney, Lean and Michael Blea; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Ryan Zamora, Albert, Crystal and Stacey Chavez. Also surviving are two sisters, Ruth Perea and husband, Ernest and Socorro Rodriguez. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on 8th and Stover. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd., S.W. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. also at the church, with the Reverend Tom Mayefske as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket bearers will be Rick Gutierrez, Jake Zamora, Donald Morales, Michael Blea, Rodney Blea and Dan Morales. Franchini -- Rose D. Franchini, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 53 years, died Friday, February 25, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Rusty Franchini; daughter, Lynne Peckinpaugh and husband, Dennis; granddaughter, Michele Peckinpaugh and Anthony Velarde, all of Albuquerque; grandson, David Peckinpaugh and wife, Maureen Tansey of St. Johnsbury, VT; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Devoti and husband, Frank and Mickey Franchini, all of Albuquerque; cousins, Mary Galligan, Ange Cunningham, Dominic Simonetti and Steve Stranges, all of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Mrs. Franchini touched many lives as a teacher at Our Lady of Fatima School for 30 years. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she was active with the Women's Guild. Mrs. Franchini was past president of Albuquerque Business Women's Association; member of Casa Angelica Auxiliary; and Italian Women's Club. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Frank See reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with Father Francis X Eggert, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum. Montano -- Jose Antonio Montano, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2000. He was born in Puerto Rico, to Jose Ramon Montano and Magdalena Montano. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorothy Montano; his daughter, Melissa Chavez and her fiance, Speedy Apodaca. His son, Jose Arrellano and his wife, Nancy Arrellano and three grandchildren, Santiago Chavez, Madyson Arellano and Grace Arellano. His brother, Joey Montano; sister, Iris Montano. His in-laws, Ernest and Braulia Velasques, Toni Ayon, Juan and Yvonne Velasquez, Ernie and Mary Chavez. Niece's and nephews, Ramy and husband, Jeff and Sabrina Forrest, Denise and Aprilyn Chavez, Carlos Velasquez, David and Danny Montano. His many friends and colleagues and all his family members in Puerto Rico. He will be overwhelmingly missed by all of us. Reeves -- Henry Clay Reeves, 11/11/37-2/23/2000, a longtime resident is survived by his wife, Mabel of the family home; two sisters, Margaret and RomaLee, a brother, Harold; 22 children, stepchildren, and foster children. Thompson -- Harold D. Thompson, 80, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2000 due to pulmonary fibrosis. Harold is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen; his daughter, Linda Martin; sons, Harold Thompson Jr., Gary Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, David Thompson of Ogden, UT; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Harold was born December 3, 1919 in Streator, IL. He joined the military in 1940 and became an Army Air Corps pilot. He was a Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1963 at a rank of Major. After settling in Albuquerque, Harold founded Thompson Auto Supply, which he operated until his death. At Harold's request, there will be no memorial service following cremation.
