SALAS, HELEN 1931-2013 Helen Salas, age 82, a resident of Los Chavez, NM passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She also loved cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Salas; parents, Ramon and Martita Gabaldon; grandson, Jeff Salas; in-laws, Fermin and Maria Louisa Salas; six sisters; and three brothers. Helen is survived by her children, Louie and wife, Mary, Ramona and husband, Lawrence, Geraldine and husband, Lupe, Ricky, Dennis and Louisa and husband, Andrew; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy Cordova; and brother-in-law, Fermin Baca. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Saturday, November 30, beginning with a viewing at 8:30 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. CORDOVA, DOLORES Age 67, passed away November 24, 2013. She was born in Santa Fe NM to Emma Cordova on October 30, 1946. She was preceded in death by her mother and daughter Doreen. Dolores is survived by her sons Phillip Padilla and Mario Sandoval; her grandchildren Victoria, Olivia, Sam, Nicolas, Beau and Emma; sister Cathy Cordova; brother Charles Montoya; and numerous nephews and nieces. A Visitation for Dolores will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Berardinelli Family Funeral Service at 6:00pm with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. SOLANO TENORIO, MARIA DOMINGA age 101, born Aug. 4, 1912, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Zenon and Maria Tenorio, her brother Santiago "Jimmie Joe", and Crescencio Tenorio; her husband Pedro Cordova; daughter Julia Cordova and son-in-law Enrique. She is survived by her daughter Lugardita Aguirre, and son-in-law Tony; son Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cordova; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 15th at San Martin De Porres Parish, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, with viewing at 10:30 am., Mass at 11:00 and interment to follow at Sunset Memorial at 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers are great- grandsons, Bryan and Dennis Jr. Cordova, Isaiah and David Cordova, Andrew and Adrian Dominguez, Dominic Rael, and Johnny Ray Sedillo. TILLEY, LUCILLE J. passed away on November 10, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Wrentro Ray Tilley; father, Pete Martinez; and brother, Dennis Martinez. She is survived by her mother, Dolores Martinez; daughters: Allison Tilley, and Magdelena Tilley, brothers: Jimmy Martinez (Ruth), Floyd Martinez, and Alex Pedro Martinez (Gathel); sisters: Adela Trujillo, Sandra Trujillo, Maxine Navarez (Valentino), Linda Cordova (Tony), Dolores Salazar, and Charlene Fernandez (Enrique); six grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and mother-in-law, Dona M. CHAVEZ, STEVEN JOSEPH 1971 - 2013 Steven J. Chavez, age 41, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away Friday, November 8. He was a skilled mechanic, and enjoyed fixing and riding motorcycles. He also loved spending time with his son, Estevan and liked watching him wrestle and play football. Steven was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and looked forward to watching his team play. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Fermin R. Chavez, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Benito and Pricilla Benavidez; and his paternal grandparents, Tomas and Andrieta Chavez. He is survived by his son, Estevan Tomas Chavez and his mother, Bernice Montoya; mother, Rosemary Chavez; sisters, Angela and Annamae Chavez; brothers, Fermin Jr., and wife Dolores, Walter and wife Julie, Andrew and wife Kelly; many loving nieces and nephews; and the Montoya family. All services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, at Immaculate Conception Church in Tome, beginning with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., the Rosary at 10:30 a.m., and funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Casa Colorada Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Bussey Jr., Marcos Chavez, Anthony Baca, Ernest Cordova, Danny Sedillo and Jovon Montoya. VAN DAMME, ELIZABETH (BETTY) Age 81, was called home to the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was preceded in death by her son Anthony (Scooby) Van Damme. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tony Van Damme; her son Michael Van Damme; daughter Becky Pelletier and husband Paul; daughter Gina Cordova; daughter Rose Bell and husband Jim; She found great joy in her grandchildren, Lauren, Tristan, Mark, Michael and Ernest. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She was born in Yakima, Washington and came to Albuquerque to work as a secretary at The Franciscan Hotel. A co-worker, Theresa Van Damme introduced Betty to her brother Tony and four months later they were married. You could often find mom and dad at the bingo and mom always let dad know when his Dallas Cowboys were playing. She loved to have lunch with her daughters and shop for shoes. She was a very Christian woman and had great faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 celebrating her life at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church located at 1860 Griegos Road NW.
