LOPEZ, EVELYN CORDOVA Age 61, born on Oct. 18, 1952 in Albuquerque, NM, died unexpectedly in Tucson, AZ on Dec. 14, 2013. Survived by her mother Julie Garcia; preceded in death by her father David O. Garcia. She leaves behind her son Brian and two grandchildren; daughter Andrea Kidd, son-in-law Bill and two grandchildren; along with six siblings, four brothers; two sisters; and many nephews and nieces. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was known in Albuquerque as a dancer and instructor in the 60's & 70's with the Clarita's School of Dance Group and several Mariachi Groups and Fiestas. Services were held on Dec. 21, 2013 in Marana, AZ.

CORDOVA, LORETTA age 54, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, January 3, 2014. Since 2005 she served as the Executive Director of the Sangre de Oro Hemophilia Foundation of New Mexico. She and her husband also served on the board of directors and has been an active member of the foundation since the early 90's. Loretta was very passionate about her work and truly dedicated to the foundation's mission of "enhancing the quality of life for people with Hemophilia and other bleeding disorders." Most importantly, Loretta was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Her compassionate spirit and kind attitude will be forever treasured by all who knew her. Loretta is survived by her husband of 30 years, Phillip Cordova; her three children: Elysa, Julian, and Patrick; her parents Robert & Lena Reyes; siblings: Veronica Reyes, Bridget Garner, and Damon Reyes. CORDOVA, MANUEL Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am Saturday, December 28, 2013 followed by the funeral Mass. Services will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM, Father Antonio Mondragon will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Joey Cordova, Andy Cordova, Patrick Gutierrez, Daniel Gutierrez, Leonard Sanchez, and Rudy Martinez. Honorary bearers will be Zeke Sanchez, Orlando Garcia, Raymond Garcia, & Isabro Martinez. Visitation will begin at 9:30 Saturday at the church. Manuel Cordova, 76 of Vaughn, NM went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center in Albuquerque following an illness. He was born July 12, 1937 in Sombrillo, NM to the home of Adolfo and Pelagrina Cordova. Manuel graduated from Vaughn High School in 1956. He joined the U.S. Army and was assigned to Battery D, First Battalion, 67th Infantry. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1962. He returned to Vaughn, NM where he married Candelaria Gutierrez on September 1, 1962. Manuel worked as a contract mail carrier for Stage Coach Lines driving a mail truck. He retired after 22 years. He was currently employed as a transport driver for Rezenberger Inc. Manuel was a very friendly, kind, caring and loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a lover of animals especially his dog Princess. Manuel enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Isidro, Adolfo, and Laute Cordova, his very loving father-in-law Benito Gutierrez Sr., two brothers-in-law Abelardo and Benny Gutierrez. Survivors include wife Candelaria Cordova of Vaughn, NM; two sons Manny (Annette) Cordova of Ruidoso, NM, and Steven (Sheri) Cordova of Los Lunas, NM; 5 grandchildren Cassie, Manny, Bernadette, Jakob and Jasen Cordova; his brothers-in-law Angel (Rita) Gutierrez, Lester (Lucy) Gutierrez, Albert (Margie) Gutierrez, & Jimmy (Kathy) Gutierrez; sisters-in-law Mickey (Leonard) Sanchez, Eva Cordova, Vangie Cordova; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. GONZALES, ERNESTINE "TINA" BACA was born July 29, 1941 in Morenci, Arizona. She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Tina was a longtime employee of PNM/New Mexico Gas Company Los Lunas office. She enjoyed cooking for her family and will be remembered for her love and care of everyone. Tina was loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Joe Gonzales; four children, Herman Ray Baca and Tina of Albuquerque, Jack L. Baca, Tim J. Baca and Norma all of Albuquerque, Michael T. Baca and wife Beatrice of Moriarty; three sisters, Dolly Baca and husband Vidal, Violet Mills and Yolanda Cordova; two brothers, Chris Cordova, Ernie Cordova and wife Beth; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM, 3674 Hwy 47 Peralta, New Mexico, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. A Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Private family burial will take place at a later time. OTERO, BENNY age 73, a resident of Albuquerque, born, September 8, 1940 was called to be with our Lord on December 10, 2013. Mr. Otero is survived by his wife, Anna; children, Paul Otero and wife, Dora, Chris Otero and wife, Josette, Andrea Cordova and husband, George, Luiz Otero and wife, Alicia, Robert Otero, Michael Otero; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Annie, Esther, Susan and Pauline; brothers, David and Louie. Mr. Otero was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Perez; and grandson Dominic Otero. Benny was a member of the Catholic Church and was retired from the City of Albuquerque in 2002, Aviation Department. Benny loved spending time with his family, watching sports and dancing. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Don Roseborough. DODGE, HOMER CODY JR. Homer Cody Dodge, Jr. passed onto the arms of God on December 9, 2013. Born on January 20, 1947 in Santa Fe, NM, Homer was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. His parents, Homer, Sr. and Mary Montoya and his younger brother, Patrick, have preceded Homer's departure from this world. Homer is survived by his wife Patricia (Pat) Tomhave-Dodge and his children and their spouse(s) - Marina and Jason Vigil, Barry, Alex and Denise, Christopher and Kurina, Garrett and Jerry and Jodi Tomhave. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren: Isaiah and Mia Vigil; Victoria, Valarie, Cherry, Sebastian, Aeneas and Alaina Dodge and Madden Tomhave. Homer is also survived by his brother Harrison Jim and wife Irene. Homer had many "adopted" sons and daughters - far too many to list - about whom he cared deeply. Homer also loved the many pet dogs who shared time with him. Some of their names are Molly, Dodger, Wylie, Nike, Lucky, Dillinger and Bear. Homer graduated from Manzano High School in 1965 and entered the United States Army in 1968. He served in Viet Nam until 1969. Upon returning to Albuquerque, Homer earned his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Albuquerque. He worked as an instructor at SIPI as a Graphics Instructor, was a partner in the Taylor-Dodge Graphics, a printing company, and was the driving force behind Albuquerque Hardwood Floors and working with Homer, Sr., and his sons for over 35 years. Homer loved sports and participated in bowling leagues and tournaments as well as participation in city baseball and senior softball leagues. In addition, he was an avid fisher, hunter, Bronco football and Lobo fan. As a sports fan Homer would attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events. Homer was a member of the VFW Post 401 and Legion Post 13. He served as a member of the House Committee at the VFW and volunteered whenever he could at both Posts. There will be a memorial and celebration of Homer's life on Friday, December 13, 2013 at VFW Post 401, starting at about 3:00 pm. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe in the spring of 2014. Honorary pallbearers are Barry Dodge, Alex Dodge, Christopher Dodge, Garrett Bradley, Jason Vigil, Harrison Jim, Isaiah Vigil, Jerry Tomhave, Abby Van Pelt, Nathan Taylor, Joe Rodriguez, Ernie Salazar, and Hank Cordova.
