BAUHS, KENNETH C. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin April 11, 1936 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Thursday, September 25, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Vi Bauhs; daughter, Ellen Gerwin and husband Greg both of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Verone Wieseler of Appleton, WI and brothers, Cyril Jandrey of Stoughton, WI and Elt Jandrey of Appleton, WI. Mr. Bauhs was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery A. Bauhs. Mr. Bauhs was an employee of Sandia National Labs from 1961-1997. He was very active in CASA, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Albuquerque. He was also a Member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church where he was involved in many of the church's Social Ministries from 1963 until the time of his death. A "Celebration of Life" Service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, 211 Jefferson St. NE. BIGELOW, WINFIELD SCOTT JR. (Scott Bigelow) Winfield Scott Bigelow, Jr. (Scott Bigelow) of Sandia Park, NM, died September 22nd, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM from complications from Lewy-Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. He was 70 years old. Scott was born July 15, 1944 in Upper Darby, PA to Ethel and Winfield S Bigelow. He is survived by his wife, Linda Puckett Bigelow of Sandia Park, NM; two step-children; four children, and an ex-spouse. Scott had a distinguished career as a chemist, physicist, and engineer. He obtained a BS in Chemistry from Union College in 1966, an MS in Nuclear Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1968, and a Ph.D. in Physics from AFIT in 1983. He held a number of important positions both in the Air Force and in a number of small companies. He was the director of a chemical analysis laboratory for the Air Force. He later helped develop High Power Microwave sources for the Air Force, where he served as Chief of Beam Physics and Chief of Computational Physics. He later worked for a number of engineering firms in Albuquerque, the most recent being Farr Research, where he spent 16 years. There, he studied a variety of Ultra-Wideband antennas and devices, including the Impulse Radiating Antennas. Scott was particularly well known for developing very large and complex computer codes. He published many technical papers and attended many conferences, both locally and abroad. His career was recently recognized by election to Fellow status by the Summa Foundation, which is the preeminent academic organization in High Power Electromagnetics. CAVIS, REBECCA Rebecca Jean Cavis, born in webster, SD on September 28, 1957 to Della and Darrel Taylor, passed away peacefully in her home on October 11, 2014 at the age of 57 after battling cancer for nearly three years. Becky was married for 31 years to the love of her life Buckley A. Cavis. Becky worked in the jewelry industry for 25 years, and was adored by all her customers. In retirement, she spent the majority of her time with her family, including her young grandchildren. Becky and Buck spent much of their time together at home, out in their backyard gardening. She loved flowers, especially roses and tulips. Becky enjoyed reading books, watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her father Darrel, stepfather Jim, brother Paul, father-in-law Allen, mother-in-law Lucille, and Buckley's oldest brother Stan. Becky is survived by her loving husband Buck; her two sons, Todd and Nick; daughters-in-law, Rachel and Emily; five beautiful grandchildren, Trent, Ava, Lilly, Benjamin, and Liberty; her mother Della; sister Susan; brothers, Harvey and David; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, who all loved her dearly. Becky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She had strength and courage that words could not describe. Becky is incredibly loved, and will be dearly missed by all. Services will be held at French Funerals at 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE on Thursday, Oct 16, Viewing from 1:00pm-2:00pm with service to follow from 2:00 to 3:30pm. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Oct. 23 at 1:30.

CUELLAR, LUCIANO MAXIMILIANO Our Lord called Luciano Maximiliano Cuellar home on October 10th to find the peace we all seek. He is survived by four children, Anthony, Tyiana, Luciano Jr., and Isaiah Peter, and his brother, Francisco Cuellar. He was proceeded in death by his father, Larry Cuellar, his mother Tillie Chavez, and his son Adam Cuellar. Services will be held On Thursday, October 16th with the Rosary at 9:30 with the Mass to follow at 10:00 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 833 Arizona SE. He will be buried at San Jose de Armijo on 2957 Arenal SW following the Mass. Palllbearers will be Francisco Trujillo, Christopher Cuellar, Willie Chavez, Carlos Mora, Jerome Gonzalez, and his best friend David.

FALLIS, JF (FRED) Fred passed away August 28, 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born on May 11, 1932 in Gallup, NM to JF (Buster) Fallis and Bessie Mae (Reed) Fallis. Fred earned a Masters Degree in Geology at UNM. He served two years in the Army. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann; daughter Toni Marie Sutliff; son Doug (Monna) Fallis; brother Richard (Carol) Fallis; grandsons Mick and Rich Sutliff, and Taylor Fallis. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at St. Chad's Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM at 4:30 pm. LOPEZ, PETER ANTHONY Born 10/21/60, was called home by The Lord on October 10th, 2014. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, James Leroy Lopez and Carolyn "LaLa" Lopez, and three of his siblings Joann, Frances, and Albert. Pete is survived by his brother James; sister Carolyn; his son Peter; grandchildren Christopher and Mia; his wife Yolanda; and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Services will be held at St. Therese Parrish. Rosary will be Thursday, Oct. 16th at 6:30 pm and the funeral Mass will be on Friday morning at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

ORTIZ, LEROY age 66, born in Las Vegas, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at home with his family at his side. Leroy is survived by his wife of forty three years, Frances; children Cruzita Martinez and husband, Daniel, Leroy Ortiz Jr., M.D. and partner, Aaron Abeyta, Monica Sedillos and husband, Matthew; grandchildren, Alex Larranaga, Brittany Montoya and husband, Elias, Hailey Larranaga, LouAnna Urioste, Matthew Sedillos II, and Madelaine Martinez; great- grandsons, Jeramiah Utter and Damien Perez; siblings, Joe, Lorraine, Raymond, James, Johnny, Chavela, Diane, Jeanette, Candido, Tommie, Andrea, and Benny; many godchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Leroy was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era and receiving the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal with "V" device, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Sharpshooter Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. PITTMAN, MICHAEL EUGENE PHD. Michael Eugene Pittman, PhD, age 74, died suddenly at his home on October 12, 2014. Born November 28, 1939 in New Orleans, Mike was a retired Associate Physics Professor at the University of New Orleans for 29 years and a former member of the Louisiana National Guard and a member of the Palo Duro Stamp Club. He moved to Albuquerque from Kenner, LA in February of 2007. He leaves behind his wife, Rita Curry-Pittman; and four children: Michael E Pittman, Jr.; John Pittman of Reno, NV; Debra 'Debbie' Butler; and David Pittman (Wendy); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his step-children: Cathy Harrell (Steve) of El Dorado, AR; James L Hingle, III (Julie) of Covington, LA; Christine LaMourie (Paul) of Naperville, IL and Stephen Hingle (Rebecca) of Madison, WI; and eight step-grandchildren. PROVENCIO, MARGARET 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1980, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 10, 2014, at home and in the presence of her husband and daughters. Margaret was born in April, 1943, to Dean and Ethel Battishill in Silver City, NM. Margaret is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alvino; and daughters, Sherri Baca and husband Joe, Amy Cortez and husband Steve, and Diana Gutierrez and husband Sergio; grandchildren, Joshua Cortez, Jake Cortez, Jade Cortez, and Jesse Cortez; her mother, Ethel Battishill; brother, Robert Battishill and his wife Becky of Garland, TX; and sister, Vickie Dickerson and her husband Randy of Artesia, NM. All who knew Margaret were touched by her loving heart and her strong Christian faith. She took great pleasure in serving others and had been a volunteer at All Faiths Receiving Home in Albuquerque and a volunteer at YDDC-NM Girls School. Most recently she was active in the Heart-to-Heart Ministry to women living at the Center of Hope operated by the Albuquerque Rescue Mission. The Heart-to-Heart Ministry is a life rebuilding program for homeless women. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. RUIZ, MANUEL L. Manuel L. Ruiz, "Nuni" born in Jarales, and resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was born on January 12, 1932, the son of Sara and Manuel Ruiz. Growing up, he was well-known and looked up to in his community in Barelas because he excelled in school, skipping grades along the way. He wrestled and boxed at the old Albuquerque High School, where he graduated. Upon graduating, he joined the Army as an infantry soldier. Manuel was qualified as a marksman and saw combat as a Korean War vet. He later married Angelina Chavez, now deceased. They raised eight children together in the North Valley. He was a roofer for 27 years and then worked for the City of Albuquerque for just as long. He loved the outdoors, and was always gardening, pruning, and weeding, but he especially enjoyed having family gatherings and following Lobo basketball and football (mostly basketball). To describe Manuel simply, he was humble, clever and kind. He is survived by his children, Lorraine Martinez, Daniel Ruiz, David Ruiz, Donald Ruiz, Michelle Scharlau, Damian Ruiz, Rey Ruiz and Daren Ruiz; grandchildren, Andrew Martinez, Linda Anderson, Alicia Ruiz, Matthew Royo, Robert Ruiz, Orlando Ruiz, Kayla Ortiz, Raenah Ruiz, Milan Ortiz-Ruiz, Eloy Martinez and Ella Ortiz-Ruiz; great-grandchildren, Aiden Anderson and Anisa Martinez; siblings, Esther Fox, Edna Mulky, Reynaldo Ruiz and half-sister, Lydia Diaz. SANCHEZ, PAULINE FLORES passed away October 13, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. Pauline was born to Flora and Eugenio Flores in Las Vegas, NM in 1913 and just celebrated her 101st birthday with her usual dignity. Pauline was a teacher's teacher who started teaching in small northern New Mexico villages at age seventeen. She taught grade school in Las Vegas, New Mexico and Sunnyvale, California and home economics in Las Vegas. During WWII she worked in the Kaiser Shipping Yards where she fell in love with San Francisco. She was a member of the Pan American Round Table, the Palo Duro Senior Center and the Albuquerque Doll Club. Pauline returned to our roots in New Mexico in 1978. She was a Highlands graduate with a masters degree. Pauline was from a pioneering New Mexico family whose roots are traced to 1598 with the coming of the Spanish colonists to New Mexico. She was raised by three aunts, Braulia, Petra and Estefanita, next to the Flores compound in Las Vegas. She was preceded in her passing by her husbands, Edmundo Angel, and Manuel Sanchez Jr., and her son Dennis. Pauline is survived by her sons Albert Angel of Tuolumne , CA, Michael Angel of Las Vegas, NM, Armando Angel of Las Cruces, NM, and James Angel of Springer, NM. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Per her wishes she will be cremated and a celebration of a wonderful and full life will celebrated with a Rosary to be recited on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 7:00p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. With a Mass on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 9:30a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows followed by internment at Monte Calvario Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. A Celebration of Life will be at the Spic and Span on Douglas Ave, at 12:00p.m. in Las Vegas, NM. TRUJILLO, GRACE G. Age 97, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 12, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Placitas, NM, where she was a member of the San Antonio Mission. Grace enjoyed drawing, painting, reading, and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Aurelia Gurule; husband, Flavio Trujillo; siblings, Catalina Gurule, Josefita Miera, Martin Gurule, and Clory Gurule. Grace is survived by her loving children, Reyna DeLara and husband Herman Chavez, Rita Benavidez and husband Paul, Flavio "Fito" Trujillo, Clyde Trujillo and wife Priscilla, Benny Trujillo, Margie Archuleta and husband Ray, Grace Torrez and husband Fred, Diane Melendez and husband Max, Dorothy Hearon and husband Don, Danny Trujillo and wife Georgia; 31 grandchildren; 95 great- grandchildren; 64 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great- grandchild. Also surviving are her sister, Lizzie Archibeque and husband Jacob; her brother, Pete Gurule and wife Virginia; other numerous relatives and friends; her pet parakeets, Lollie and Pop; and her cat, Billy. Grace will be greatly missed by all.
