ANAYA, PHILLIP JR. "P.T." Age 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at his home in Socorro, NM with his devoted family by his side. He was born in Socorro, NM on February 12, 1950 to Felipe and Maria (Gonzales) Anaya. "P.T." served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and then became a member of the New Mexico Army National Guard. He retired from the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District after 31 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and was Socorro's "#1" sports fan, You could always see him at one of the local sports activities supporting the teams or running the chains at the Warrior football games. "P.T." was an avid New Mexico Lobo fan and loved his New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of the Socorro Warrior Booster Club and also served as president. In 2006, he was elected Socorro County Commissioner and served the community he loved until his passing. "P.T." was a devoted family man and strong in his catholic faith. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Valentin "Tiny" Anaya; and Luis Anaya; his sister, Lucaria Vega; and his sister-in-law, Lena Anaya. "P.T." is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rosalie (Lesperance) Anaya; his devoted children, Joey Anaya and wife, Bernice; and Kristina Andazola; his loving grandchildren, Vanessa and Mariah Anaya; and Drake Andazola. He will also be greatly missed by his great-grandchildren, Analie Montoya; and Amelia White; his brothers, Paul Anaya; Narciso Anaya; Gilbert Anaya and wife, Pricilla; Leroy Anaya and wife, Frances; his sisters, Annie Anaya; and Debbie Paul and husband, Charles; his brother-in-law, Carlos Vega; sister-in-law, Yvonne Anaya; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. A Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield, Socorro. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 9:00 am also at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. BRIGGS, NANCY GAY ROBB passed away in Albuquerque on August 30, 2014 due to complications of a stroke. She was born in New Rochelle, NY, but moved to Albuquerque as an adolescent with her parents, Dean John Donald Robb I and Harriet Block Robb and older siblings Priscilla and Johnny, with whom she shared a love of New Mexican cultural and musical landscapes. After graduating from Smith College, she married William Christie Briggs in 1950. She was active in such organizations as the League of Women's Voters and the Pan American League. Nancy served as a docent of the Albuquerque Museum, the University of New Mexico Art Museum, and the Maxwell Museum and was active in many arts and cultural organizations in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. She loved classical music, art, and nature and was an avid tennis player and superb skier and one of the most ubiquitous figures on the New Mexican arts scene. A deeply spiritual person, Nancy participated actively in the Center for Action and Contemplation, and she supported movements for peace and justice. She is survived by her sister Priscilla McDonnell of St. Louis; son Chris and wife Pat Briggs and their children Matt, wife Tova, and daughter Rachel; son Charles and wife Clara Mantini-Briggs and their sons Gabi and Gabriel. CROW, ALFRED Alfred (Pat) Crow, 83, beloved Father and Husband, was called to his eternal resting place on August 30, 2014. He entered this world on July 18, 1931 in Roswell, NM, born to Alfred Bert & Anna J. Crow. He is survived by his wife Irene Wheeler Crow; sons David and Gary; and four granddaughters. Alfred graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1953. He served Honorably in the United States Air Force from 1953-1955 as a Motor Pool Officer in the Korean Conflict. Alfred left active duty and became a Trader on the Navajo Reservation for 14 years. He was fluent in Navajo and considered his tenure on the reservation a new home and a special time in life. Alfred and Irene had various businesses in Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico before retiring to the mountains of Colorado. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 6, at French Funerals, 9300 Golf Course Road, Albuquerque, NM 87144 for a celebration of his life.

D'LAMATER, ROBERT JAMES Died on September 2, 2014, after a full, fruitful life of 93 years. Robert was most proud of his 21 years in the US Marine Corps serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict, retiring as a Captain; his athletic successes as a four-year three sport letterman in high school, Fayette, OH, and golf champion at Paradise Hills Country Club, Albuquerque, NM; and, his greatest pride, Doris, his wife of 67 years. Robert is survived by Doris; son, Gary and wife, Susan D'Lamater; two granddaughters and their husbands, Faith and Will Lau and Alison and Meredith Neal; three great-grandchildren, Penelope, Elodie and Lleyton; brother, Earl; and sisters, Dorothy, Marvel, and Barbara. DISMUKE, DANIEL Daniel Paul Dismuke passed away peacefully from an aneurysm in the early morning of August 30th. Daniel is preceded in death by his father William D. (Bill) Dismuke and his mother Joan Dismuke. He is survived by his wife Catherine; daughters Danielle, Hannah and Gia; his sister Ruth Blakely and husband Stuart; brother Mark Dismuke and wife Cathy; brother Stephen Dismuke and wife Danielle; nephews Roy Dismuke and Jack Dismuke; nieces Neita Miller, Eva Blakely, Mackenzie Dismuke, Dylan Rose Dismuke; and grandnephews Adian and Carson Dismuke. Daniel was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a lifelong New Mexico resident. A graduate of New Mexico State University, Daniel was co-owner of Dismuke Construction Company with his brother Mark. Daniel grew up in the Quarter Horse industry; showing horses and rodeoing as a youth. For many years he raised Corriente cattle alongside his mother and siblings. He was an avid team roper, loved a good game of golf and a good joke. He will always be remembered for his easy smile and heart of gold. To quote Daniel, "It's all good." Daniel was devoted to his three daughters and wife. He was a genuine friend to people from many walks of life. He cherished his special needs daughter Gia and worked hard to protect her joyous, loving, free spirit. EDWARDS, ARTEMUS L. Artemus L. Edwards, Professor Emeritus, University of New Mexico Music Department passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday morning September 4, 2014. Artemus had Parkinson's disease, and although medication provided stability for many years, the disease began to take its toll in the last six weeks. He was born on July 24, 1932 and grew up in St Petersburg, Florida. He attended Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY from 1954 to 1956 and entered The Curtis Institute of Music, in Philadelphia, PA in 1956. There he studied under Sol Schoenbach and received his Diploma in Bassoon Performance in 1960. In 1968 Artemus married Sandra Chafey Edwards and in 1969 came to Albuquerque to take up a position as Professor of Music at the University of New Mexico, where he taught Bassoon and Music Appreciation. He was the principal bassoonist of the Orchestra of Santa Fe from 1975 to 1984 and with the Santa Fe Symphony from 1984 until his retirement in 1995. Artemus touched many people's lives in the community through his teaching and his music. He expressed thankfulness for the life he had, for the joy he got from his students and wide circle of friends. He brought much to all our lives with his musical artistry, captivating personality and wit. Artemus is survived by his only son Taylor Edwards; daughter-in-law Cori Dolan; granddaughter Amira Dolan; and his brother Charles Wingate Edwards. Plans are pending for a memorial service.

FRANCE, GEORGE AUGUSTUS, JR a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the age of 91. George was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on September 12, 1922. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Agnes France who passed away in July; his Father, George Augustus France of Ohio, and his Mother, Nona G. Delaplane-France of Ohio. George is survived by many nieces and nephews. George served our country as a Gunner's Mate, First Class in the U.S. Coast Guard; he enlisted in 1942 and separated with honors in 1946 to pursue a lifetime career with his father at the France Stone Company in Toledo, Ohio. After retirement, George and Agnes lived in California then moved to Albuquerque. George nurtured many dearly loved pets during his life. George is now resting in peace with Agnes whom he would lovingly kiss upon awaking every morning during their entire marriage. Both George & Agnes will be greatly missed by many good friends and caregivers in our community. HOLCOMB, TERI LEE SISSON Celebration of Life services for Teri Lee Sisson Holcomb, 57, will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014, at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church, Hunter Community, Mansfield, LA, with Brother Armador Santos officiating. The interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Stanley, LA. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Saturday, September 6, 2014, from the hours of 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Logansport Chapel. Teri was born June 24, 1957, in Trinidad, CO, to Betty Lou Kerby Sisson and the late George Evans Sisson Jr. She was called home September 3, 2014 at her home in Stanley, LA. Teri lived a full and amazing life. She loved and cherished her family and friends, many of which were remote, but she always took the time to stay in contact and let them know how important they were to her. She touched the lives and hearts of so many and leaves behind a gap that will never be filled. Teri was preceded in death by her father. Left to cherish the beautiful memories Teri leaves behind will be her beloved husband of 29 years, Jerry Holcomb; her mother, Betty Lou Sisson; three sons: Joshua Paul Houston, Thomas Trent Houston and wife Samantha, David Lee Houston and wife Jessica; one brother, Michael Evans Sisson and wife Karen; four grandchildren: Emma Lee Houston, Eric Marr, Elizabeth Walker, Devan Houston; along with many extended family members and numerous wonderful friends. KIRK, LOEY COHEN Loey Cohen Kirk passed away on August 30, 2014, peacefully in her sleep and surrounded by her family. She was born on May 10, 1950 and raised in the Chicago area. In 1970, while visiting a friend in ABQ she fell in love with the Land of Enchantment and never left. With a Master degree in Special Ed., she worked in early childhood education for almost 40 years. She was committed to the environment, liked to hike, traveled the world, loved a good adventure and always, always encouraged everyone to vote. Loey was a dedicated member of Nahalat Shalom where she was instrumental in creating a playground for young members. Determined to help others, she donated her body to ALS research. Loey is survived by her children Melanie and Neal Kirk; sisters, Carol Greenberg and Wendy Cohen (Joel Pickar); nephews and niece, Justin Greenberg, Aaron and Nelle Pickar; and partner Greg Unnever. LANE, FRANK R. Frank R. Lane, age 83 and a resident of Albuquerque, died August 30, 2014. After graduating from UNM and serving in the Korean War as a sonar operator, he worked in the electronic component industry in Albuquerque, Socorro, Utah, California and Texas. He then returned to Albuquerque, founded Lane Properties and led a successful career in real estate. Frank is survived by his sister Mary L. Fletcher; nephew David A. Fletcher; and niece Gayle Doty. LAW, CORINNE Age 83, has been a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1988. She was formerly a resident of Ruidoso, NM since 1980, and of Dallas, TX (University Park) since 1959. She was born in Abilene, TX where she attended public schools and Hardin Simmons University. She taught school in Fort Worth, TX and Honolulu, HI for six years. Corinne passed away on August 27, 2014, following a stroke on August 14, 2014. She and her husband, Jim Law, who survives her, would have been married 60 years on February 12, 2015. Corinne is also survived by her loving children, son, Nile Law and wife, Deanna, of Dallas; and daughter Melanie Law and husband Jon Kornbluh, of Ridgway, CO. She is also survived by her four beautiful grandchildren, Jordan and Sara Law of Dallas; and Jonah and Ruben Kornbluh of Ridgway, CO. MARTINEZ, EVERETT L. Age 60, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2014. Everett was born on June 11, 1954. He is survived by his wife Eileen; mother Diana Martinez; daughters Felicia (Pat), Tashia (Kim), grandchildren Adriana and Isiah; son, Alex Pino (Jenell), grandchildren Jacob and Destiny; siblings, Sonny Martinez (Aleta), Nancy Martinez, Barbara Umstead (Matthew), Denise Anderson, and Alysha Geri (Mike); and many nieces and nephews. Everett will be laid to rest next to his father, Onesimo Martinez and sister Cecilia Padilla. PITCHER, MARY LOU Of Corrales, New Mexico peacefully passed away on September 1, 2014. Mary Lou was born July 26, 1932 in Pontiac, IL, the youngest child of Ira Austin Erwin and Georgia Avery Erwin. She was united in marriage to her childhood sweetheart, James Loren Pitcher, M.D. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1992. Her son, William Douglas Pitcher, M.D.; her two brothers, Jack Colby Erwin and William Marsh Erwin; and her sister, Vivian R. Erwin, also preceded her in death. She attended Knox College and DePauw University where she studied English and Literature. She was a beautiful piano player and instilled her love of music to all her children. As the consummate Army wife, Mary Lou orchestrated the numerous family moves to West Point, NY, Yokohama, Japan, San Antonio and El Paso, TX. No easy task with four young children in tow. Mary Lou's vocation was her family and while not employed outside the home, she found great satisfaction by volunteering to several organizations. She was the ultimate and gracious hostess, regularly entertaining visiting Army personnel, sometimes with little to no advance warning. She is survived by her beloved partner, Michael Eiland; son, David Erwin Pitcher, M.D. and her daughter-in-law, Zita; grandchildren, Erin and Daniel Pitcher of Albuquerque; daughter, Jane Lauren Fingarson and her son-in-law, Lyle Fingarson of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Aera Desiree Kim of Albuquerque and Kyle DuBoise of Reno; daughter, Lynn Pitcher Komer and son-in-law, Mark Komer; granddaughters, Lauren and Haley Komer all of Santa Fe, NM; the children of Doug Pitcher, her grandchildren, Lilly and Jon Gorman and James Pitcher and their mother, Ellen Pitcher of Irving, Texas; and her step-daughter, Michelle Eiland of Albuquerque. ROMERO, RAY R. "UNCLE RAY" 1927-2014 Ray R. Romero "Uncle Ray" age 87, a resident of Belen, NM passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 after a long illness. He was born on January 6, 1927 in San Fidel, New Mexico to Nicanor and Alfides Vallejos Romero, founders of Romero Funeral Home in Belen. Ray married the love of his life Pelegrina "Pele" Sanchez in 1944. After serving four years in the United States Army during World War II, he and Pele raised their five loving children in Belen. Uncle Ray and Aunt Pele as they were loving known to their nieces and nephews always had a back door open policy to them and their families where their home became a second home and a gathering point for many of them throughout the years. After 32 years of service with the Southern Union Gas Company, Ray retired and continued his part time work with Romero Funeral Home. Ray was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Both Ray and Pele have been devoted parishioners of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and Ray was an active church usher for many years. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Annie Romero Garcia; brothers, Frank and Arno Romero; and his dear friends, George Campbell and Gene Chavez.
