BOYES, GESINE February 2, 1923 - April 10, 2014 Gesine, age 91, died peacefully on April 10, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born and raised in Mobile Alabama where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Wallace F. Boyes Jr. Wallace was a bomber pilot in WWII. Gesine would always offer several hugs and kisses to all of us when she greeted us at the front door. She was an excellent southern cook with shrimp gumbo being among the favorites, anxious to fill our bellies with home cooked meals. Grandma Zene, as she was called by her grandchildren, preferred to spend time with us at the kitchen table because it was far safer than watching us swing from the tree branches in the front yard. She will always be remembered as kind, loving and honest. Gesine will be laid to rest with her husband, Wallace F. Boyes. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Compton and husband, Steve Compton; granddaughter, Stacy with husband, Eric Bewley and great-grandchildren, Tryston and Dawson; grandson, Chris with wife, Catherine Compton and great-grandchild, Zane. A private Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
