TAICHERT, ROBERT The entire Santa Fe Opera family mourns the death of one of the founding members of the Board of Directors, and its first president, Robert Taichert. As a young lawyer, he was one of a group of Santa Fe business and professionals recruited by John Crosby in 1956 to form an opera company for Santa Fe. In later years Mr. Taichert was fond of saying, "We had no idea what lie ahead, but we were persuaded by John Crosby's thoughtful eloquence." In recent years he marveled at the stature of the Company with great pride in the part he played. The Opera family extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Zane, family and friends. Mr. Taichert, who was made an Honorary Trustee in 2006, will be well remembered in the history of The Santa Fe Opera. Joseph M. Bryan, Chairman Susan F. Morris, President Charles MacKay, General Director
