ELMORE, MARVIN JOHN Few might remember this name, but many should. He protected his country by serving in the Army in Viet Nam and undisclosed areas. It was this service in Viet Nam that lead to a lifetime of ailments. He lost many friends who are inscribed on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall. After his military service, he found many opportunities to serve his fellow man. Peel, AR should remember him for his service with their fire and rescue. He touched many other lives in many other ways. He was the firstborn of Hubbard S. and Nilvia B. Elmore, born July 20, 1950 in Sao Paulo, Brazil and was a naturalized citizen of the United States. After his graduation from Del Norte High School in Albuquerque he married and shortly thereafter entered the US Army and served in SE Asia. Marvin spent his last six years with Maude Decker and her daughter Janelle, whom he raised as his own. As they were moving to their dream home in Pensacola, he finally succumbed to his ailments October 8th after a short hospital stay in Pensacola, Florida. You hardly ever heard him complain or found him without a smile. He was memorialized with military honor guard in Pensacola, Florida on October 14, 2012. He will be interned at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on April 19th at 2:15pm. He is survived by Maude Decker, his soul mate, and their daughter Janelle of Pensacola, FL; his daughter Andrea L. of Albuquerque, NM; parents Hubbard S. and Constance I. of Albuquerque, NM; brothers Jose H. of Las Vegas, NM, Robert S. of Farmington, NM and P. Richard of Leveland, TX; maternal aunt Nilde Barros of Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil. He will be missed by so many whom he loved and who loved and appreciated him.
