BROWN -- STEPHEN ARTHUR Age 60, currently of Albuquerque, NM. He joined God in Heaven on Tuesday, July 3rd, due to complications from Multiple Myeloma. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur in 1998 and mother, Audrey in 2009. He is survived and dearly missed by loving wife of 23 years, Marcia; daughter Samantha; brothers Daniel and Lawrence; sisters Kimberly and Lisa; stepsons Franklin, Louie and Reyes; several cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Originally from Rochester, New York, Mr. Brown moved to Albuquerque in August of 1989. He was a cartographer of 40+ years and loved his profession. A skilled wood craftsman, meticulous model builder and designer, avid motorcyclist, with a great love of the outdoors, he fell in love with New Mexico's landscape. CHAVEZ -- POLO "PAUL" 1925 - 2012 A resident of Los Lunas and Belen for 18 years, passed away on July 3rd, at the age of 87. He was the youngest of 18 children born to Antonio and Beatrice Chavez in their home in Barelas. When Polo was 18 years of age, he enlisted in the US Army to defend his country during WWII. He served from 1943-1945 with the 363rd Infantry, 91st Division in Italy. He returned home to his family in Albuquerque for approximately one year before moving to Denver, CO. It is there where he met his beautiful wife, Josie, and she became his bride in 1951. Polo moved his family back to New Mexico to work as an illustrator for the Weapons Lab at Kirtland AFB. His artistic talent was recognized by the numerous awards he received during his 30 years of service. Polo enjoyed fishing the Pecos River, live plays, and old movies. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time and playing table games with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Beatrice Chavez; his last four siblings, Juan Chavez, Aurora Padilla, Lita Chavez, and Tony Chavez. Polo is survived by his loving wife, Josie Chavez; children Michael (Julie) Chavez of Pueblo, CO., Cathy (Shannon) McReynolds of Sandia Park, NM, and Alan (Elena) Chavez of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren, Monique (Ramon) Gonzales, Jonathon (Vanessa) Chavez, Alex McReynolds, Joseph Chavez, Elijah Chavez; and three great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Adriana Gonzales, and Jianna Chavez. A memorial service will be held at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, Friday, July 7th, at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. Interment will be at a later date. CLARK -- RANDY WAYNE age 48, of Albuquerque, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 28, 2012. A small private family service was held. He was born to William and Vivian Clark on November 13, 1963, in Albuquerque, NM. He enjoyed guitar, fencing and was an accomplished artist. He is survived by two brothers, William Clark, Jr and wife Susan of Decatur, IL, and Larry Clark and wife LaDonna of Pittsburg, CA; one sister, Linda Dykes and husband Perry of Bosque Farms, NM; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian Clark.

EILAND -- MARY KAY Passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at age 91. She had just celebrated her 73rd wedding anniversary with her husband, J. D. Eiland. Mary Kay was born in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo E. Thiele. She lived in New York and Cleveland before moving to California at age 12. Leo Thiele was a syndicated editorial cartoonist and one of the early artists at Walt Disney Studios. Art was very much a part of her life from as long as she could remember. She studied at Pasadena City College, Citrus College, and Chouinard Art Institute in California, in addition to workshops and tutelage by distinguished artists. Before moving to Albuquerque in 1985, she exhibited in many juried shows in Southern California, and won several awards. She was a Signature Member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and exhibited in several juried shows of the NMWCS and in National Small Paintings shows. She traveled and painted in the US, Bermuda, Europe, and various Asian countries. Her paintings hang in many private collections, including in Virginia, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and California. In New Mexico, she was represented by Coriell Gallery of Albuquerque. In Mary Kay's own words, "Wherever I go, I look at the world through a painter's eye, seeing design, paintings, and drawings everywhere. I want to paint everything! I enjoy sharing my outlook, and no matter what, will continue to try to capture it all." Mary Kay was also a founding member of the Sandia Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, J.D. Eiland of Albuquerque; and her son, Michael Eiland of Arlington, Virginia. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Julia Kay and Mary Cecile. She is also survived by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mary Kay's work and her spirit live on through her art, her church, and the undying love of her family and friends. Her life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, on Sunday, July 8th, at 5:00 p.m. For friends who wish, flowers may be sent to French - Wyoming Chapel. ERICK -- BRIDGET CATHERINE Age 53, a resident of Albuquerque, met her heavenly Father on July 3, 2012. She was born in Texas City, TX on March 28, 1959. Her family moved to Albuquerque when she was six years old. Bridget graduated from Highland High School and then attended UNM. After college she started her own computer business and then worked at AOL for several years. In her free time, Bridget loved to do beadwork, work in her garden with her flowers, and had a great love of cats. Bridget was active in her church and loved working with her church family. Bridget will always be remembered for her sweet personality. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mike; her son, Michael Erick, Jr.; her mother, Barbara Murphy; numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members, friends, and church family. Bridget was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Murphy; her sister, Coleen Murphy; and her grandfather and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Muse. GALLEGOS -- REY age 71, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, June 28, 2012. He was born August 20, 1940 in Belen, NM. Preceded in death by his loving wife Demecia; his parents Manuel and Isabel Gallegos of Albuquerque. He is survived by his daughters Gloria (Ray) Ruiz, Jo Anne (Ralph) Kassian, Yvonne (Bobby) Kallenberger; grandchildren Adrian Gallegos, James (Christen) Ruiz, Elaine (Vuth) Vinn, Theresa Ruiz, Aaron Gene (Yolanda) Garcia, Adam Garcia, Mikey Garcia, Erica (Patrick) Anaya, Tony Garcia, Jacob Gallegos; and ten great-grandchildren. GALLOWAY -- JOSEPH E. A long-time Albuquerque resident, age 35, passed away in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, June 30, 2012, while helping someone move. Joseph was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 15, 1977 to Rodney G. and Donna Pate Galloway. He is survived by his brother Benjamin of Albuquerque; sisters, Rachel E. Miranda (Jorge A.) of San Antonio, TX, with children Emilie, Soleil, and Albert; Brenda of Denver; and Sarah of Mesa, AZ. A sister, Alisha, preceded him in death. He also has living uncles and aunts: Cheryl Galloway; Jeff and Lola Galloway; Kent and Renae Galloway; John and Susan Galloway Stacey; Robert and Elaine Pate; Alma John (Jack) and Deon Pate; Maran Carl Pate; and Steven and Alice Pate Nelson. Joseph attended Mark Twain Elementary School, Madison Middle School and Highland High School. He was enrolled in the special education program and graduated with a diploma. He enjoyed working at Smiths as a bagger and as a courtesy clerk at Kirtland Air Force Base Exchange for ten years. For the past three years he had been residing in Denver, Colorado with his sister, Brenda and his cat, Pumpkin. A viewing will be held Friday evening July 6th from 7-9pm at French - University Chapel. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 7th at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel at 5709 Haines Ave. NE with a viewing one hour prior. LOMAX -- SANDRA JEAN On Friday, July 5th, Sandra Jean Lomax age 78, entered Glory from her home with her family by her side. In Christ, Sandy is not dead but lives! Sandy was born on May 27, 1934 in Anderson, IN. After graduation from high school she attended Taylor University where she met her future husband and eventually moved to Mansfield, OH. Sandy worked in the human resource department at General Motors. She also worked as secretary at First Alliance Church. Sandy ended her career working at the University of New Mexico in both the President's office and the UNM Business Link. She is survived by her son Jonathan Lomax; granddaughter Lauren Sclafani; and sister Pat Songer, all of Albuquerque; daughter and son-in-law Jalane and Bob Miller of Mansfield, OH; sister Sally Baker of Salt Lake City, UT; and former husband and friend Arthur Lomax, also of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents John "Bill" and Ruth Brannon and sister Karen Tyler. A memorial service will be held in her honor at Hoffmantown Church where Sandy was a member. NELSON -- JAMES was born physically in 1924 and spiritually in 1938, when he was saved and became a follower of Jesus Christ, His Lord, through the ministry of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Albertville, AL. He is a veteran of World War II. He married Annis Dodd, his childhood sweetheart, in 1946. He and Annis have been serving as partners in missions and evangelism since 1950. He is survived by his wife, Annis, of 66 years; six adult children and their families. He previously served as a Church Planter and Pastor in Alabama, Missionary in Montana, New Mexico and Panama Canal Zone. He has also served on the staff of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico and the Home Mission Board of the SBC, and pastor/church starter during his college and seminary years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Highland Baptist Church, 417 Palomas Dr. SE. Private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. PADILLA -- FLOYD A. passed away suddenly on Sunday July 1, 2012 in Santa Rosa, NM. Floyd was born in Puerto de Luna, NM, to the home of Alfonso and Nora Padilla, he was the eldest of 13 children. Floyd made Santa Rosa his home for most of his life. After high school, he attended school in Colorado. Floyd enlisted in the US Army, he completed basic training in Virginia. He served in Korea where he was awarded the Korean, United Nations, and National Defense Service medals. In 1955 Floyd married Juanita Elena (Helen) Madrid, they made their home in Amarillo, TX where Floyd worked in construction for a few years. They returned to Santa Rosa where Floyd was employed as a city policeman. Floyd and Helen owned and operated several businesses including the Pecos Bar & Grocery and Mateo's Restaurant. Floyd was elected multiple times as municipal judge and served several terms on the Santa Rosa School Board. He was a past member of the Lodgers Tax Board and a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. Floyd and Helen retired in 2003 and maintained homes near family in Santa Rosa and Albuquerque. Floyd was a loving and caring husband; father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Floyd will be remembered for his warm personality and gentle and kind nature. He loved being around friends and family. Floyd loved playing golf, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and family get-togethers. For the past several years, Floyd worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools as a crossing guard. He formed many friendships in the Albuquerque area. Floyd is survived by his children, Shirley and Jonathan Prince, Catherine Cave-Evans and Steve Griego, Susan and Frank Lueras, Rose and Robert Delgado, Carol and Alfredo Gonzales, Melissa Padilla, and Patrick and Paula Padilla; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Flora Garcia, Agneda Casaus, Vera and David Estrada, Maria and Joe Villanueva, Judy Myklak, Orlando and Cindy Padilla, Larry and Barbara Padilla, Victor and Margaret Padilla; sisters-in-law, Cecelia Padilla and Linda Padilla. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of over 57 years, Helen on June 2, 2012; son Floyd, Jr.; grandson Ivan Cave; and son-in-law Craig Cave; his mother Nora and father Alfonso Padilla; brothers Daniel, Gilbert, and Reynaldo Padilla; Hilario Padilla; brothers-in-law Gilbert Casaus and Raul Garcia. Rosary services were held at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 5, 2012 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, July 6, 2012 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Geno Higgins, Domenic Cave, Omar Gonzales, David Lueras, Francisco Padilla, Tobias Padilla, Louis Flores, and Dr. Ray Collins. PEETS -- ROBERT "BOB" G. Passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Grants, NM. Bob was born November 27, 1914 in a logging camp in northern Michigan. He excelled at an early age in academics in grade school, then to South High in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bob graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in his chosen field of mining engineering. He was inducted into the honorary engineering society Tau Beta Pi. During his years in high school and college, he lettered in his chosen sports. In his youth became a Sea Scout. Mining was the career he loved and all he wanted to do which covered a span of 50 years. He began his career upon graduation in 1938 with Bethlehem Steel in Lebanon, PA. During his tenure with Bethlehem Steel, he was a liaison for the company in Mexico for seven years, building a producing manganese mine during the Cold War in the 1950's. Later in the 1960's he managed Meramec Mining Co. in Sullivan, MO. Upon retirement from Meramec Mining Co. he married his wife, Ava and began a new career moving to New Mexico during the Uranium Boom in the 1970's. Bob was an energetic man never wasting a minute. He had a dedication to community service wherever he lived. He was a devoted family man caring deeply for his children and grandchildren. During his years in Grants, NM, he served on the Cibola Economic Development Foundation, and also the Chamber of Commerce Board. As a Rotarian, he received the Paul Harris Award for service. He served on the Policy Advisory Committee to the Agency on Aging by Governor's appointment for a span of 17 years. He was President of the New Mexico Mining Association from 1980 - 1982. Bob, along with his wife Ava, was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2011 by the Grants Chamber of Commerce. He was a devoted member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Milan. In his last months, even in the poorest of health, his desire was to try to go to church each Sunday. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ava; his children, Shelley Newman, his beloved developmentally disabled stepson, Todd Sherman, Lonnie Peets-Williams, Roy Peets, Dr. Shara K. Peets and Marlis Wise; his sister, Norma Mitchell; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob was a kind and caring man who provided a good life for all in his care. He will be missed. WISLER -- ERIN MARY Age 50, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at home. Erin is survived by her husband of 26 years, Frank Joseph Wisler; children, Kelli Christine Roberts and her husband, Nathan Daniel Roberts, Shannon Leigh Wisler and Jill Marie Wisler; granddaughter, Elizabeth Emma Roberts; brothers, Lee Cone and Michael Cone; aunt, Carol Miller and uncle, Sam Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
