LOVATO -- JOSE LUZ 1922-2011 Jose Luz Lovato, age 89, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Joe proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He became a Journeyman Pipefitter after marrying his wife of 57 years, Margaret. His work carried him to the Los Alamos Atomic Plant in the early 1950's and he worked on many hydroelectric systems in Albuquerque. Joe moved to Los Angeles, where he performed the plumbing on 1000's of homes and skyscrapers. He also worked on the nuclear plant in San Onofre, CA. Joe served as President of the Pipefitter's Local Union and was Chairman of the Pipefitters Apprenticeship Committee. He personally taught hundreds of new pipefitter candidates. He also served as President of the Mexican American Political Association, San Fernando Chapter. He was very supportive of Cesar Chavez and the rights of farm workers in Central California. Joe took classes at the University of Southern California on labor law and arbitration. He was an avid reader on many topics and amazingly successful in solving the Jumble Word Puzzles. When you enter Joe's home, you will find books on quotes of famous people, algebra, history, government, power of words and speech and labor law. He spoke very kindly of his grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments. We thank him for teaching us honesty, integrity, pride and family. Lastly, his passing was peaceful and God took him without him experiencing a lot of stress. We can say he fought the good fight and finished the race. His legacy will remain with us forever. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Lovato; parents, Estanislado and Dominica (Gonzales) Lovato; infant son, Dominic Lovato; brothers, Nestor Lovato and Fidel Lovato and sisters, Mary Chavez and Nellie Saavedra. Joe is survived by his sons, George Lovato and wife, Jerry of Cloverdale, CA, Joe Lovato Jr. and wife, Betty of Medford, OR, and Ben Lovato and wife, Diana of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Ricardo Lovato of Belen, NM; grandchildren, Lisa Dabovich and husband, Joe of Los Angeles, Amahl Lovato of Albuquerque, NM, Irene Yonkers and husband, Ken of Balboa Island, CA, Christina Beauchemin and husband, Jon of Moorpark, CA, Joanna Flores and husband, Will of Portland, OR, Ben Lovato Jr. and wife, Natalia of Sacramento, CA and Joe Lovato Jr. and wife, Leslie of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, Gabriela, Ryan, Bennett, Everly, Luc, Benny and Caden. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews including, Catalina "Kate" Debord of Belen, NM, Gloria Lovato West of Albuquerque, NM, and Clydine Sosa of Albuquerque, NM. A Viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, July 22, at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Saturday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. MCHENRY -- BRUCE K. Age 50, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque and Corrales, passed away suddenly at home on July 2, 2011, after longtime heart problems. He is survived by his brother Jamie, and his wife, Chuckie, and their daughter, Meghan, of Albuquerque; his brother-in-law, Don Flaxbart, and his daughter, Marissa, of Chicago. He is also survived by many beloved cousins and close friends around the country. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul G. (Buzz) McHenry, of Albuquerque; his sister, Lynn Flaxbart, of Chicago. Cremation has taken place by Riverside Funeral Home, 505-764-9663, and the details of his Celebration of Life Service are still pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico State Monuments.

MCHENRY -- CAROL M. Age 83, born in St Louis MO, and a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, passed away peacefully in Hospice on July 4th, 2011 after an illness of several years. She is survived by her son Jamie, and his wife, Chuckie, and their daughter, Meghan, of Albuquerque; and her son-in-law, Don Flaxbart, and his daughter, Marissa of Chicago. She is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews and friends around the country. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul G. (Buzz) McHenry, of Albuquerque, her daughter, Lynn Flaxbart ,of Chicago, and her son, Bruce, of Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place by Riverside Funeral Home 505-764-9663, and the details of her Memorial Service are still pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

MONTOYA -- ANDREW Age 67, passed away in Albuquerque on July 14, 2011, of a recent illness. Born in San Pedro, CA, on Nov. 15, 1943, and is a 1961 graduate of ABQ High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie P. and Andres Montoya; his former wife and the mother of his three children, Lorraine Townley. Andrew is survived by his three children, Dominic Montoya, and wife, Marlene, and their three children, Ariana, Naomi, and Matthew, Stephanie Mora and partner, Archie Saiz, and her two children, Richard and Brian, Gregory Montoya and partner, Felicia Reyes, and his two children, Keith and Myranda; nine great-grandchildren, Bryce, Isaiah, Donovan, Tyanna, Dominique, Joshua, Estevan, Yessenia and Jacob; several cousins and their families. Final Blessing Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, on July 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with Final Interment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. MONTOYA -- RICARDO A. "DICKIE" Age 74, a native of Santa Fe and resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 11, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father, Dick Montoya; mother, Fidelia Montoya of Santa Fe, NM; and brother, Andrew Montoya of Arroyo Seco. He is survived by his wife and friend, Rebecca Montoya; and sons, Ricardi Montoya (23) and Erik Montoya(21), of Albuquerque; brothers, Phillip T. Montoya and wife, Wendy, of Santa Fe, Pete Montoya and wife, Mary of Rio Rancho, Robert Montoya and wife, Franchesca of Tijeras; sisters, Mary Jane Lucero and husband, Phil of Espanola, Dolores Peguero and husband, Robert (who Rick loved like a brother) of La Mirada, CA, Beatrice Garcia and husband, Toby of Corrales, and Patricia Rane and husband, Ivan of Rio Rancho; and numerous nephews, nieces, and grand-nieces. Rick was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and New Mexico State University. He was an electrical engineer and with his brothers owned electrical contracting companies; Dick Montoya and Sons, and Montoya Brothers Electrical Company, with over 80 years in business. He was also a member of the New Mexico State House of representatives in late 1970's. Rick was known for his quick wit and jokes and was loved by all his family. His faith, family and friends meant everything to him. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him. A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
