FALLIS -- ROSELLA Age, 91, passed away September 19, 2011. Rosella was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 13, 1920, the youngest of four children in the Ernest and Olive Frazier family. They were wheat farmers from Cullison, Kansas. Rosie grew up in a musical family and attended Friends University in Wichita on a voice scholarship. She sang at many weddings and church services. Rosie married Earl Fallis in 1941, they were married 53 years before Earl passed away. In 1951, the Fallis family followed friends to the "Wild West" where Earl went to work for Conoco Oil Company in Linch, Wyoming. They went from catching catfish and hunting pheasant in Kansas to big game country. Rosie proved many times over to be a crack shot at bagging moose, elk, deer, or any game in season. She loved to fish and could have a trout on the line before anyone else could even get their pole in the water. Rosie and Earl were very active: they loved to dance, go camping with friends, water ski, bowl, play bridge and travel. Activities and formal affairs in Eastern Star and Masons were always a part of their life. Rosie sold Avon products for the town, so she helped keep the ladies up to date on cosmetics. The Fallis' started out playing golf on a no boundary fairway between oil wells toward dirt hand raked green. So it was a real treat to move to Rio Rancho in 1984 and belong to a golf club. Rosie was an outdoor person who would spend hours working in her yard, walking her dog in the neighborhood, and taking care of her flowers. She always joked a house without a kitchen would be ideal. She spent 33 years in Linch which didn't have any restaurants, but in Rio Rancho she could walk out her back door to fast food restaurants and O'Hare's. When Rosie was inside her house, she enjoyed sewing and reading. Oil painting became a passion when a new friend moved to Linch and decided to give lessons. Rosie's paintings depicted the Wyoming country and mountain scenes, especially the Grand Tetons. She was always proud of her work and wanted to show her artwork to anyone that came in the house. She gave many paintings to family and friends and we were blessed to have wonderful memories of her talent. She always had a positive outlook and was willing to try anything. She enjoyed life. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine and Bob Fitting of Fountain Hills, Arizona; son, Larry Fallis(Angela Branch) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Stephanie Darnall (Sally Martin) of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Bryan Darnall (Melissa); two great-grandsons, Michael and David Darnall of Scottsdale, AZ. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. Interment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Rio Rancho. BCFD Chaplain Matthew Caward will preside over the services. GILLIGAN -- RITA CLAIR ROSE Was born on July 11, 1931. Daughter of the late Edward P. and Lucy (Lulu) E. Rodman Kane of McKeesport Pennsylvania. Our patriarch passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday September 18, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Today an angel goes home. She was a kind and giving woman with a quick sense of humor, a woman who gave freely of herself and who taught her children to help the innocent and the helpless. Her endearing, giving qualities made her a wonderful pediatric nurse and animal lover. She realized her dream of becoming a nurse in 1952 and began her life long career taking care of children. Her garden was a sanctuary where by growing roses she communed with her Lord. Today Ma goes before her long beloved Lord to play for Him the music that filled her heart; that same music that flowed from her fingers as a small child before the St. Peter's Church congregation. She was preceded in death by her brothers James E. P. Kane and Henry F. Kane. Rita is survived buy her six sons and two daughters, Edward P. Gilligan, Kevin M. Gilligan, Timothy J. Gilligan, Thomas W. Gilligan, Karen M. Gilligan, Matthew R. Gilligan, Daniel J. Gilligan, and Anna Rose Gilligan; her many grandchildren; brother Edward A. Kane of Dravosburg, PA. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday September 21, 2011, at 7:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Carlisle Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 22, 2011 at 10:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Cremation will follow.
