AIMES -- EDA MAE Passed away at home on August 20, 2011. She was born in Gallup, NM, on July 20, 1922, and moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1937, attending High School at Albuquerque High. "Mae" was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Aimes, February 3, 2008, a veteran of Bataan Death March; her mother, Margaret Weiser; and her brother, John (Jack) Hnidak, who did not survive the Bataan Death March. "Mae" is survived by two daughters, Nancy Moore, Darlene and her husband, Dr. Larry Walters of Albuquerque, NM; She has five grandchildren: Craig Walters (Roxanna) of Chandler, AZ, Tami Gonzales, Dr. Brad Walters (Kelly), Riff Beske (Mickey) of Albuquerque, NM, and Tiffany Quigley (Collin) of Denver, CO; and 11 great-grandchildren; She is also survived by her very special "adopted daughter", Kathie Anthony (Michael); and special friends, Frank and Christy Gonzales as well as Benny and Susan Adams. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needle work. "Mae" worked for Fishback Dance Studio as a secretary and helped with costumes for many years. A Memorial Service for "Mae" will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at French-Lomas Chapel at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to send a special thank you to Presbyterian Hospice and Home Health for their great care and compassion, and thanks to Laurie Meyerer from Home Instead for all of her help. BALDONADO -- FRANCES "NANA" Age 72, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents Lizardo and Sophia Chavez of Alameda. Frances is survived by her daughter Debra Banda and by the loves of her life, her grandchildren Lorenzo and Franchesca Banda; her brothers Andalescio "Andy" and Eloise "Lou" Chavez, Leroy and his wife Berta Chavez and David and his wife Carmen Chavez; her sister at heart Frances Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. A major focus of Nana's life was her family whom she always welcomed. Her heart and her kitchen were always open. She nurtured and helped raise many grandnephews and grandnieces as well as many others giving them a loving and warm home. Nana kept family traditions alive and every friend and family member were all touched by her warmth and caring ways. "Nana's Kitchen..where memories were made and grand-kids were spoiled". All services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on 4th and Alameda, with interment services to be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Paseo del Norte.

COOK -- LT. COL. CARL L. JR. (USAF) RET. Was born May 10, 1920 and passed away August 19, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen and is survived by his wife, Elsie; two daughters, Carleeen Kochanski and husband, Jack of Kansas City, MO and Billie Felicetti and husband, Gary of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kristin Kochanski, Lori Kochanski, and Blair Tracy. Col Cook was a B24 pilot during World War II and a decorated veteran. He was recently awarded the French Jubilee Medal for his participation in the Invasion of Normandy. He flew the Berlin Airlift where he was later stationed from 1963-1966. With Col. Cooks passing we have lost one more of "the greatest generation." Carl Cook attended the University of New Mexico and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a true gentleman, loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at La Vida Llena for the wonderful care given to him the last fourteen months of his life. Cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Col. DAVIS -- ANDRAE JAMES Of Albuquerque, was called home Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Beloved son of Constance and Joe Yancey; loving father to Andrae II, Kobe, and Casey Davis; Big brother to Cameron Davis and Crystal Adams; grandson to Nathaniel and Anita Blackston, John and Nancy Love, and Ted and Josephine Jackson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Andrae was a free spirit. He lived his life on his terms, but, gave of himself freely to others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Andrae was a Born-again Christian, and is now with his Lord. And those who know Jesus will see him again. A celebration of his new life will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at New Life Baptist Church 6900 Los Volcanes Rd. NW with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. GIRON -- PHILLIP A. Age 50, went home to be with the Lord, August 6, 2011. Phillip was born on September 3, 1960 in Albuquerque, NM, the son of Pilar and Andrea Giron. Phillip loved life and lived everyday to its fullest. He laughed constantly and really believed in "Live for Today for Tomorrow is Not Promised to You". Survivors include his mother, Andrea B. Giron; brothers and sisters, Bernie Giron and wife Doris, Victor Giron, Christine Baca, sister-in-law Lucia and husband Craig Harris, brother-in-law Louie Padilla, Tina Patton and husband Dan, Rosie and husband, Dr. Barry Maron, Randy Giron and wife Kathy, Rick Giron and wife Gloria, Yolanda Giron and her partner John Scar Martinez, Pilar David Giron and wife Felicia, Ramey Giron and wife Aime; his best friend Bill, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Pilar Giron; brother Steve Eddie Giron; and sisters, Margaret Padilla and Angel Hall; brother-in-laws, Ben Baca and Wes Hall; sister-in-law Norma Giron; nephews, Tony Lee Giron and Christopher Giron. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. by Lita Pino at San Jose Church, 2401 Broadway SE and Funeral Mass by Father Juan Mendez at 9:00 a.m., followed by a burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 1900 Edith Blvd NE.

GONZALES -- RAMONA B. Passed away on August 20, 2011 in Socorro, NM. Ramona was born October 15, 1910 to Rafael and Josefita (Padilla) Baca in Luis Lopez, NM. She is survived by her devoted children, Ciriaco Q. and wife Norma, Josie and husband Gabriel, Amy and husband Wayne, Ralph and wife Viola, and Edwin and wife Mary Jo; 19 loving grandchildren; 23 great - grandchildren. Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Ciriaco M. Gonzlaes; her parents, Rafael and Josefita Baca; siblings, Santiago, Eugenia, Felipe, and Alvaro. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at San Miguel Parish Hall with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. NEELY -- CATHERINE M. 88, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born February 8, 1923 to Clifford Cameron and Lillian (Saurer) Cameron in Hamilton, OH. Catherine was a resident of Albuquerque for over 60 years. Catherine loved to cook and travel. She worked many years at Sears. Catherine had a long and good life and will be remembered by everyone whose life she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Neeley; brother, Clifford Cameron; and her parents. Catherine is survived by three daughters, Sharon L. Jacobs and her husband James of Las Vegas, NV, Sandra Clark, Pam Diaz; and four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Dorothy Cameron; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
