WUGOFSKI -- Monique Janine Leduc Wugofski, passed over to the other side on March 15, 2010 after living a full life of 83 years. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leon; children, Patricia Mayfield, Barbara Wugofski O'Neill, and Lee Wugofski; grandchildren, Patricia Lee Payne and husband Korigan, Janine Lee O'Neill, Jacqueline Jennifer O'Neill and Nicholas Joseph Wugofski. She is also survived by her great-grandson, Bastian Payne; sister, Andree Leduc Roussel and husband Jean - Jacques; and many other family in France. Monique was born in Asnieres-sur-Seine, France, was admitted to the Conservatoire de Paris at age 10 to develop a profound musical talent for the piano, and graduated at age 18. While experiencing WW II in German-occupied France, she met and married an American soldier, Leon, and they moved to the states where she continued to perform around the USA and France. While raising their family, she gave piano lessons at home and public institutions, such as the renowned Temple University in Philadelphia. After moving to New Mexico, she founded the East Mountain Artist's Series, where she continued to share the beauty and magnitude of her musical gift. Services will be Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Mountainside United Methodist Church, 4 Penny Lane, Cedar Crest, NM. ASH -- Shannon M. Salce Ash, 48, a lifelong resident of the Albuquerque area was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Shannon is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Jeff Ash; and their two daughters, Maggie and Sarah Ash; father, Richard Salce; sister, Shawn Steele; parents-in-law, Terry and Marcia Ash; nephews, Chance and Parker Steele; sister-in-law, Gabrielle Baca and husband, Steve; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Salce; and her grandparents, Bob and Mary Lucas and Virgil and Cathleen Salce. Shannon was a good daughter, devoted wife, gifted home schooling mom and loving sister. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and she shared that love with everyone she came in contact with. Her spirit will remain in our hearts forever; she is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. BALLARD -- Gene Charles Ballard, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Gene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou; his son Gene C. Ballard, Jr. and wife Carlotta; grandsons, Eric Hays and Brian P. Ballard; sister, Delores Wynne; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Autry and Mary R. Jimenez; brother-in-law Casey Jimenez and wife Mary; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Ed Moore; his children, Steven Ballard and LaLinda Kay Ballard Ochoa; and his sister Joann Ritchie. Gene served his country during WWII as a radioman in the Navy. He retired from the Federal Aviation Agency after 33 years of service. Gene and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed visiting all over the world. Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2010, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. BARRETT -- William Charles Barrett, age 24, of Edgewood, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 following a motorcycle accident. Will attended Moriarty High School. He later attended CNM, where he earned his Phlebotomy Certificate. He worked at Presbyterian Hospital for the past two years. He loved the outdoors, riding his Harley, and hanging out with his friends. Will is survived by his father Carl Barrett and wife Shawna; mother, Kelly Rennison; brothers, Richard, Jonathan, and Raven; sisters, Samantha, Alyssa; cousins Lesley, Krystal, and Ken who were more like sisters and brothers; grandparents, Bill and Sandy Barrett; Edna and Frank Nipper and Jean Harber. BARRON -- Elizabeth Camille (Ulibarri), February 12, 1951 - March 6, 2010, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at her home in Corona, CA. Elizabeth was a retired LPN who worked at St. Joseph's Hospital on Montgomery Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM for 23 years. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alex Norbert and Diane Ulibarri-Norbert PKA Dian Diaz; sons, Johnny Mercer and Kelly Mercer; sisters, Pauline Romero, Mackey Ruane, Charlotte Camarena, Theresa Vazquez; brother, Karlos Ulibarri; along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Lizzie Ulibarri; sister, Prajedes Diane Campbell; brother, Delfino Ulibarri. BENNETT -- Eufelia Bennett, 98, passed away in her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. She was born in New Mexico Territory in 1911, raised in Colfax County and has resided in Albuquerque since 1943. Eufelia is survived by one brother, David; five children, Phyllis, Helen and husband, Phil, Lucy Ann, Bobby, and Wayne and wife, Kay; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Charlotte, Pamela, Patrick and wife, Melissa, Phillip, James Alan, Shanna and husband, Jeff, and Leslie; four great-grandchildren, Abby, Amy, Annaka and Payton; and relatives, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eirwin in 1980; son-in-law, James in 2006; and siblings, Pauline, John and Lucy. At age 16, Eufelia learned the importance of caring for others when the unexpected passing of her mother required her to raise her younger siblings. She raised her own family while excelling in fabric arts and growing beautiful flowers. When she was blessed with grandchildren, her capacity to love grew even further. She considered herself lucky and blessed to see the arrival of four great-grandchildren. Her kindness and compassion touched many and her selfless personality drove her to always take care of others. Eufelia found joy in cooking for others and laughing with her family. She was most happy when her entire family would reunite to celebrate her birthday. Eufelia will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed by her presence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at French - Westside Chapel. BUTLER -- Raymond Emery Butler I, 89, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. Raymond was born in Oak Hills, KS on August 16, 1920 to Doss Milton and Isabel (Payne) Butler. Raymond married Lorraine Perry on September 4, 1965. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2009. Mr. Butler had lived in Moriarty, NM since 1972, having previously lived in Albuquerque, NM and Kansas. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty. He graduated from Chapman High School in Chapman, KS in 1939. He served in WWII, the Korea Conflict and the Army Corps Engineering. Raymond was a member of the American Legion, and Past Master Masonic Lodge #33 in Estancia, NM. He was also Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter #23 in Estancia, NM. He was a Rainbow Dad for many years and a supporter of The Boys and Girls Ranch of New Mexico. He graduated from Brown Mackie School of Business. Raymond was a Funeral Service Attendant at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary for twelve years. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Marvin Butler and Boyd Butler; grandsons, Tyler Butler and Kevin Teahan; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Teahan. He is survived by his sons, David VanBibber of Moriarty, NM, Michael Teahan of Moriarty, NM, Rhett Butler and his wife Maile, of Edgewood, NM and Raymond E. Butler II of Edgewood, NM; daughters, Elizabeth Peterson and her husband Richard of Surprise, AZ and Rhonda Cox and her husband Butch of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Kenny Butler and his wife Ramona and Johnny Butler and his wife Juanita; sister, Eunice Gingrich and her husband Lloyd; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty, NM. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. BUXTON -- Richard Clarke Buxton, age 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 2007, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia of Albuquerque; daughter, Lynette Munoz and husband, Fernando of Albuquerque; sons, Dale Buxton and wife, Christine of Gilbert, AZ, and Thomas Buxton and wife, Joan of Downers Grove, IL; and six grandchildren. Mr. Buxton was born in Chicago, IL February 20, 1935. He was preceded in death by his two sisters. Mr. Buxton worked as an electrician all of his life and belonged to the IBEW L.U. 595 and the 110 Brotherhood Club of Electrical Workers. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and the senior center cribbage club in Rio Rancho. Memorial Rosary will be recited by Eileen Walling Monday, March 22, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. GARCIA -- Dennis F. Garcia, 59, went to be with our Lord Wednesday March 10, 2010. He was preceded in death by parents: Frank A. Garcia, Julia Garcia; and brother Bernie Garcia. Dennis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy Garcia; daughter, Ilene Santillanes and husband Paul; and grandchildren Nicole and Santino; great-grandchildren Santino Jr. and Jacob; grandchildren, Amanda and Paul Jr.; daughter, Melissa Garcia and husband Alamito Romero; and grandchildren Sarah, Ashley, and Ricardo Jr.; sister, Carrie Gallegos and husband Mike and children; several relatives, nieces and nephews. Dennis was a loving, giving husband, father, and grandfather who liked going to Vegas and Laughlin. He worked for Seattle Fish Company. He will be greatly missed.
