ARCHULETA -- JoElla Archuleta, age 76, of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2010. Born and raised in Cuba, NM, she was a resident of Albuquerque for over forty years. She loved and appreciated life despite being disabled from birth. JoElla received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from St. Joseph's College in 1953. She taught in the Cuba Schools for ten years. Survivors include her brothers, Daniel and wife Martha Archuleta, Robert and wife Jean Archuleta Amadeo and wife Liva Archuleta; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Gregorita Archuleta. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, where family will receive friends one half hour prior to Rosary. ARMIJO -- Debra Emily passed on July 28, 2010. Born on October 19, 1969 to Gilbert Armijo and Evangeline Cadena. She was preceded in death by her father; and her companion Deryl Newman. She is survived by her mother; sisters, Diane and Margaret; brother Gilbert; children, Deryl and wife Sunny, Carlos, Isaac; daughter Chasity; and grandchildren, Deryl III and Marivelle Newman. BENTHEIN -- Ralph F. Benthein, Jr.(74), a resident of Albuquerque, NM was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. He was born October 9, 1935 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and came to New Mexico in 1987. Ralph was retired and enjoyed exercising his gift of putting a smile on other's faces. He never met a stranger. Ralph is survived by his loving wife and best friend Diana of Albuquerque; his children Deborah (Peter), Lisa, and Jeff all of California, Amanda (Rob)of Plover, Wisconsin; brothers, Randall and Robert and sister Rose all of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and eight grandsons. A Celebration Service is scheduled at First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho on Tuesday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service and interment of his remains will take place Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. BRUNELIERE -- Rene Bruneliere was born July 13, 1951 in France and passed away July 22, 2010 in Vaughn, NM. Rene had a very strong personality. He was a good friend to those who knew him, a man who was generous to a fault. He was a self-taught artist who mastered the intricate technique of airbrushing on metal. Rene's passion was riding his Harley "mon petit". Cremation has taken place and his ashes spread by close friends on their way to Sturges. A memorial service will be held by Mountain States Constructors, Inc. on August 13, 2010 All services for Mr. Bruneliere were entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.

CHAVEZ -- Joan A. Milkey Chavez. After a courageous battle with cancer, Joan A. Milkey Chavez passed on to a more peaceful place. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Milkey; son, Chris. Survivors include her husband, Freddy; son, Alfred of the family home; granddaughter, Adrian of Espanola; mother, Dorothy Milkey; sisters, Mary May and husband, Ernie, Gini Milkey and Sue Mirard and husband, Bill; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends and former students; and extended Chavez family. Joan was an educator for over 36 years in Albuquerque, teaching at John Adams, Alamosa and Park View Baptist. She was always ready to tutor those who asked for help. Children, their achievement and future, were utmost to her. A life-time Girl Scout and leader, 4-H leader and very active in community Little League was her life. A graduate of UNM Law School, she passed her bar on May 18, 1980. To her credit, she also had her Master's Degree in Math. She was able to attend her 45th High School Reunion in Vermont this past June. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2010, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. DEXTER -- Peter L. Dexter, age 75, died on August 8, 2010 in Albuquerque. A retired Safety Officer and Asbestos Inspector for the Division of Safety of the BIA, he enjoyed stamp collecting and was a lifetime member of the American Philatalic Society and the Albuquerque Stamp Club. He enjoyed bowling, where he bowled in the Native American League and JACL and also bowled on the National and State Level. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed blues and jazz music. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Grace Bernadette (Chavez) Dexter; and many extended family members including Louise and Joseph Naranjo, Leonore and Barry Garcia, Lorraine Chavez, Leona M. Chavez, Lucia and John Concho, Christina Chavez, Patricia and Nicky Suina, Naomi Chavez, Elaine Chavez, Danny and Shannon Johnsey, Leon Chavez, John and Phoebe Grimley and Christopher Chavez. FREDERICK -- Dr. Harold T. Frederick, 81, a resident of Placitas since 2005, died Saturday, August 7, 2010. He is survived by his children, Teresa L. Shull and husband Allen of Placitas, Matthew J. Frederick and wife Stephanie Yee of San Carlos, CA, Scott Merrill of Rocklin, CA, and Cathy Berry and husband Joseph of Lawrenceville, GA; grandson, Adam; and other relatives and friends. Dr. Frederick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, on October 31, 2009; and son, Christopher Paul Frederick. He was a long time physician in Downey and Bell Gardens, CA. until his retirement in 1997. Since his retirement he enjoyed playing with and repairing computers and listening to classical music. He also enjoyed volunteering at the computer center at St. Martin's Hospitality Center. Dr. Frederick was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. GARCIA -- Vada Rheanne Garcia February 6, 2010 - August 11, 2010 Our little angel left us to go home to heaven on August 11, 2010. She was born to Rachel Lewis and Isaac Garcia on February 6, 2010. The little time that was granted to us was very precious and memorable. She was loved by many and will never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather Wade Lewis and great-great grandmother Phlica Morgan; paternal grandfather Andrew Meastas, and great-great grandfathers George Garcia and William Duran. She is survived by her loving and devoted parents Rachel and Isaac; her maternal grandparents Michael and Lorraine Lewis and Phlica Morgan; nina Rebekah Lewis and Hugo Lopez; aunties Renee Lewis and Brandy Weir; uncle Shanu Lewis; great-grandparents Dorothy Lee and Isabel Alcantar; her paternal grandmothers Roxanne and Sue Garcia; uncles Jesus and Cierra, Kimo and Adrainna and Duane; aunties Shawn and Shar; great-grandparents George and Janet Garcia and Sally amd Waldo Valdez; great-great grandmothers Pearl Garcia and Velma Duran; and special friend Joe. KEAR -- Lee Roy Kear Jr., was born August 28, 1928 in Clayton, NM. He died on August 3, 2010 at the local VA Hospital. He was preceded in death by parents Lee and Venita Kear; and brother Richard Kear. He is survived by wife Clara; and daughter Carol Romero, her husband Fred and their daughter Reese; brothers, Frank, Paul and wife Yvonne, Tom and wife Terry and Rodney and wife Cheryl; sisters, Thelma Oliver and Pauline Romine. KURTH -- Shirley D. Kurth, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away in Denver, Colorado August 3, 2010. Shirley left us peacefully and quietly at the age of 82. She lost her battle with breast cancer after nearly five years. Shirley had a great love for life, her family, friends and the great outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husand Charles Wright; her son Robin Kurth; and daughter Sandy Hughes. Surviving are her daughter Susan Murray and husand James Murray; son Roland Kurth; five grandchildren, Amanda, Shannan, Jamie, Vicky and Shanna; Shirley also had six great-grandchildren. Over the years she worked for Sandia Base, Boy Scouts Club and retired from Safeway. She enjoyed cooking so much we called her "the camp cook". Services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel at 10:30 a.m., 7999 Wyoming Blvd N.E. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Susan G. MALDONADO -- Carol Maldonado, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 10, 2010, with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Maldonado is survived by her children, Dolores Lucero and husband, Felix, Irene Milligan and husband, Michael, and Robert Maldonado and wife, Dorothy; her grandchildren, Phillip, Carol, David, Raymond, Leroy, Johnny, Martin, Joseph, and Annette; 20 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Angelina, Gloria, and Clorinda; and her brothers, Tony and Leo. Mrs Maldonado was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Maldonado; her sister, Rose Trujillo; and her son, Leroy. Mrs. Maldonado was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. OSBORNE -- Barbara Rahe Osborne, age 75, passed away on August 10, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Clyde and Eula Bradford in Austin, TX. Barbara was the much loved wife of Robert Osborne for over 47 years. She loved to teach, travel and took great pleasure in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara taught in a national award wining program in American Humanities at El Dorado High School. She was a docent at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History for over 16 years. Barbara was a strong individual who had a very gentle spirit. Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert Osborne; their children, Robert Osborne, Kathy Kittle, Donna Crutchfield, Toby Osborne and Cole Osborne; seven grandchildren, Carla Crutchfield, Katrina Mares, Jason Osborne, Allan Kittle, Shaun Osborne, Candice Crutchfield and Brandon Osborne; and five great grandchildren, Brianna Alva, Ayla Osborne, Emma Costley, Tyler Costley and Jade Osborne. PAVIONI -- Florence Pavioni died August 11, 2010, at age 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rino; sons, Bob and Danny; brothers, Horace, John and Michael (Dean) Palladino; sisters, Armida and Lorraine Palladino and Anita Carter. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra; daughter-in-law Marian; three grandchildren, Katy Dambrino, Kasey and Angela Pavioni; four great grandchildren, Shane and Demi Dambrino, Nikoli Pavioni and Jazmyne Frodgue; brother, Father Robert Palladino of Sandy, Oregon; sisters-in-law, Sister Francis Clare Pavioni of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Margaret Juliana of Oakley, California; numerous nieces and nephews. Like her mother, Mrs. Pavioni was born in Albuquerque. She attended Business College after graduating from St. Mary's High School and met her husband while working as a bookkeeper for Super Service Station. She later did similar work for her brother Horace at Automotive Electrical Service and for her husband at Rino's Wheel Alignment. She was a volunteer for many years at Barelas Senior Center. She loved all spectator sports and was an avid fan of the Lobos since the 1930's. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Parish.
