ARCHULETA -- JoElla Archuleta, age 76, of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2010. Born and raised in Cuba, NM, she was a resident of Albuquerque for over forty years. She loved and appreciated life despite being disabled from birth. JoElla received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from St. Joseph's College in 1953. She taught in the Cuba Schools for ten years. Survivors include her brothers, Daniel and wife Martha Archuleta, Robert and wife Jean Archuleta Amadeo and wife Liva Archuleta; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Gregorita Archuleta. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, where family will receive friends one half hour prior to Rosary. BACA -- Nestorita Baca, 80, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Her last moments were spent surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bences; daugthers, Mercy Carrillo and husband, Santos, Viola Carrillo and husband, Frank, and Sandra Baca; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Clara Burciaga and Sylvia Sedillo, her son, Ernesto Baca and her sister, Ramona Lovato. Services for both Mrs. Baca and her son, Ernesto will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. with final visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension. A private burial of their cremated remains will be at a later day at Los Padillas Cemetery. BAZAN -- John J. Bazan, Loving father and grandfather, passed away in his home on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. He was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully. DEXTER -- Peter L. Dexter, age 75, died on August 8, 2010 in Albuquerque. A retired Safety Officer and Asbestos Inspector for the Division of Safety of the BIA, he enjoyed stamp collecting and was a lifetime member of the American Philatalic Society and the Albuquerque Stamp Club. He enjoyed bowling, where he bowled in the Native American League and JACL and also bowled on the National and State Level. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed blues and jazz music. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Grace Bernadette (Chavez) Dexter; and many extended family members including Louise and Joseph Naranjo, Leonore and Barry Garcia, Lorraine Chavez, Leona M. DOMENICALI -- Yolanda "Noni" Domenicali, 80, passed away, Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her home. She was born, December 17, 1929 in Albuquerque a daughter of Paul and Anna Gow Yannoni. Survivors include three daughters and one son, Loretta and husband, Ignacio Perez, Albuquerque, Janet and husband, Allan Gonzales, Rio Rancho, Angelica and husband, George Castillo, Albuquerque, and Stephen Chavez, Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Aline, Lobito, Briana, Brian, and Bethany; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda, Natalia, Ashlynn, Emilia, and Aleisha; one sister, Pauline and husband, Richard Badillo, Albuquerque; one brother-in-law, Harold Marcum, Albuquerque; and many special nieces and nephews that were like her own. Yolanda was preceded in death by her husband, Leonello Domenicali; only brother, Louie Yannoni; and one sister, Sylvia Marcum. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her. FREDERICK -- Dr. Harold T. Frederick, 81, a resident of Placitas since 2005, died Saturday, August 7, 2010. He is survived by his children, Teresa L. Shull and husband Allen of Placitas, Matthew J. Frederick and wife Stephanie Yee of San Carlos, CA, Scott Merrill of Rocklin, CA, and Cathy Berry and husband Joseph of Lawrenceville, GA; grandson, Adam; and other relatives and friends. Dr. Frederick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, on October 31, 2009; and son, Christopher Paul Frederick. He was a long time physician in Downey and Bell Gardens, CA. until his retirement in 1997. Since his retirement he enjoyed playing with and repairing computers and listening to classical music. He also enjoyed volunteering at the computer center at St. Martin's Hospitality Center. Dr. Frederick was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. GILLREATH -- Gladys M. Gillreath, 80, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on June 18, 1930 in Paugate of Laguna, NM and was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM. Gladys retired from Bureau of Indian Affairs. She also worked as a volunteer at the North Valley Senior Citizen Center and was a devoted member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Gillreath, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frank Gillreath; daughter, Edwina Kiro; sons, Bailey Gillreath and wife, Jennifer, and Doug Gillreath; grandchildren, Dawn, Hannah, Oscar, and Meagan; great-grandchild, Oliver; her dog, LuLu Belle; as well as other family and friends who loved and will miss her. KURTH -- Shirley D. Kurth, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away in Denver, Colorado August 3, 2010. Shirley left us peacefully and quietly at the age of 82. She lost her battle with breast cancer after nearly five years. Shirley had a great love for life, her family, friends and the great outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husand Charles Wright; her son Robin Kurth; and daughter Sandy Hughes. Surviving are her daughter Susan Murray and husand James Murray; son Roland Kurth; five grandchildren, Amanda, Shannan, Jamie, Vicky and Shanna; Shirley also had six great-grandchildren. Over the years she worked for Sandia Base, Boy Scouts Club and retired from Safeway. She enjoyed cooking so much we called her "the camp cook". LITE -- Joseph Lite, 92, passed away on August 9. He was born on May 11, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. and is survived by his wife, Mary Lite, of 53 years; son, Larry Lite, his wife, Judy Aron and her sister, Madeline Aron; grandchildren, Michelle Lite and Kristina Lite Mora; and great-granchildren, Ava, Isabel, and Kenshin. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the 8th Air Force as a bombadier on B24 Liberators and participated in the European Theater over Germany and France. He was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank in New York in the coin processing department and became interested in error coins. He was a collector of stamps, coins,and toy trains. They moved to NM in 1972 and lived in Rio Rancho for 33 years. He became involved in Model A Fords and rebuilt a 1929 from the chasis. He also owned Unique Coins, Unique Mustang Parts and Unique Trains. He and his son became professional clowns and provided entertainment for numerous charitable organizations. Mary and Joe also loved traveling around the world. Cremation was provided by Direct Funeral Services. A celebration of his life will be held at his son's house on Friday, August 13, 2010, 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 714 Parkland CR SE, 268-2557 or 331-2014. MONTOYA -- Matias Ruben Montoya, 78, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 at home surrounded by family members. He was born July 18, 1932 to Julianita Chavez and Matias Montoya in Polvadera, NM, a small farming community north of Socorro. He treasured his early years living on a ranch with his sisters and parents where he helped them run a general store. He graduated from Socorro High School in 1951. Mr. Montoya then enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean War. He served aboard the U.S.S. Laertz and was stationed in San Diego before going to sea abroad. When he returned from the Navy, Mr. Montoya bought 16 acres of land in Polvadera with his father where they farmed cotton, alfalfa, and other crops. He also attended New Mexico State University at this time and studies agriculture. In 1963, he began working for the New Mexico State Highway Department as a soil and lab technician until his retirement in 1994. Once he retired, he enjoyed attending horse races. He celebrated his 50 wedding anniversary on January 27, 2010 with his family. Mr. Montoya was recently preceded in death by his two sisters, Angela M. Paul in March and Marcela Versteege Putnam in June. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Corine; three daughters, Annette Niss of San Diego, CA, Jamie Myers of Rio Rancho, NM, and Julie Greenwood of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren; sisters, Sally Shoemaker of Socorro, NM, and Lillie Morgan of Hemet, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at St. Thomas of Aquinas Parish 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho on Friday, August 13, 2010. OSBORNE -- Barbara Rahe Osborne, age 75, passed away on August 10, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Clyde and Eula Bradford in Austin, TX. Barbara was the much loved wife of Robert Osborne for over 47 years. She loved to teach, travel and took great pleasure in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara taught in a national award wining program in American Humanities at El Dorado High School. She was a docent at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History for over 16 years. Barbara was a strong individual who had a very gentle spirit. Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert Osborne; their children, Robert Osborne, Kathy Kittle, Donna Crutchfield, Toby Osborne and Cole Osborne; seven grandchildren, Carla Crutchfield, Katrina Mares, Jason Osborne, Allan Kittle, Shaun Osborne, Candice Crutchfield and Brandon Osborne; and five great grandchildren, Brianna Alva, Ayla Osborne, Emma Costley, Tyler Costley and Jade Osborne. POPE -- Goldie Pope, 85, passed August 1, 2010. Goldie was born June 9, 1925 in Fallace, Oklahoma.
