BERGESON -- Elaine A. Bergeson, 85, passed away on October 28, 2009 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Sydney "Bergie" Bergeson. Elaine is survived by her daughter Darlene J. Hyer and husband Calvin Hyer Jr., of Albuquerque; her granddaughters Shana Runck and husband Troy Runck of Albuquerque; Carrie Johnson and husband Chris Johnson of Houston Texas; great-grandson Trevor Runck; and great-granddaughter Ryan Johnson. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private family spreading of the ashes will take place in June.

BOND -- Gordon McClain Bond, Jr., 62, was born April 26, 1947 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. "Gordo" passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque on Friday, November 6, 2009. As a member of a pioneer ranching family, Gordo was raised on numerous ranches in New Mexico including the Valle Grande near Los Alamos, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon McClain Bond, Sr., Flora Cannon Bond, and his beloved dogs Rambo, Dolly, Baby Doll, and Georgia. He is survived by his children, Gordon "McClain" Bond, III and Louise "Ramsey" Bond; his sister Flora Bond Kubiak, her husband John Kubiak and his four nephews, Matthew, Simon, John and Peter Kubiak. Gordo attended NMMI, UNM and Cochise College. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at UNM. He owned and operated Rio Grande Air Charter Service in Taos, New Mexico. He also started a bottled water company called Taos Mountain Water. He had a passion for flying small planes and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was an adventurous man who loved to travel all over the world. Please join us for a "Celebration of Gordo's Life"; which will be held at Paul's Monterrey Inn, one of his favorite watering holes, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. BUCKLEY -- Emma Ross Buckley, 87, a resident of Oakland, CA, former resident of Albuquerque, was born to Charlie Ross and Lucy Chavez on October 17, 1922, and passed away on November 2, 2009. Emma lived in Albuquerque for many years and worked at Albuquerque National Bank, in the 1950s, before moving to Oakland. Emma was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Wagner; and her late husband, Jack Buckley. Emma is survived by her cousins on her mother's side, Lillie and Oscar Robles, Gillie and Isabel Saiz, Ted and Dora Lujan, Louie and Virginia Saiz, Paul and Josie Saiz, Pini Quintana, Sara Jane Sanchez, Elsie Crawford, Charlie and Della Saiz, Mary Ann Chavez, Virgie Armijo and Joe and Joyce Chavez. Visitation will be Saturday, November 14, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. unitl 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stove SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Father Clarence Maez, presider. BURKS -- John Lee Burks, age 45, a native of New Mexico, passed away November 8, 2009 at the University of New Mexico Hospital. He is survived by his fiancee, Lynette Waters; her children Nathan Waters (26), Joshua Waters (24), Daniel Waters (22), Michaela Waters (20), Caleb Waters (16), and Gabriel Waters (14); mother Shirley Burks; father Glenn Burks; brother Wayne Burks; sister Sheila Burks; his cherished dogs, Dogggie, Budders, and Pookie; and nieces, nephew, and many friends. John Burks was a well-regarded stonemason by trade, and lent his artistry to several buildings and structures in New Mexico. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed outboard motoring and riding his beloved Harley with Lynette and his friends. His big heart and his sense of humor made loyal friends out of strangers. John will be terribly missed by those fortunate enough to know him. Service will be held November 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Forest Meadow Baptist Chruch, 55 Hwy 222 in Tijeras. Lynette will lead a memorial ride on November 14, 2009.

GONZALES -- Magdalena Gonzales, 93, a resident of Sena, NM, passed away on November 8, 2009. Mrs. Gonzales is survived by her children, Antonia Gallegos, Horacio Gonzales and wife, Viola, Roger Gonzales, and wife, Eppie, Meliton Gonzales and wife, Cecilia, Eloise Okada and husband, Koichi, Arturo Gonzales and wife, Dulcinea, Fermin Gonzales and wife, Viola, Dulcinea Biggers and husband, Julian, and Casimiro Encinias and wife, Esquipulita; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. GURULE -- Gregory "Bubba" Jesus Gurule, age 39, a long time resident of Bernalillo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 10, 1969. He was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Mojica; maternal grandfather, Rosarlio Vigil; paternal grandparents, Trinidad and Leanore Gurule; and step-grandfather George Trujillo. Gregory is survived by his three precious children, Michelle, Danielle and Jesus Gurule; his loving parents, Jose and Jesusita Gurule all of Bernalillo; his siblings, Jane of Mora, NM, Edward and Melissa, John and Jean-Marie of Albuquerque; his maternal grandmother, Antonia Trujillo of Bernalillo; and other numerous relatives and friends. Bubba was a very loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, and will be greatly missed by all. Bubba enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing horse shoes. He loved children of all ages and was loved very much by everyone that knew or met him. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church. A private cremation will follow. HANSEN -- Dona Rae Hansen passed away at her home on October 19, 2009 in Albuquerque. Born on June 16, 1928 in Independence, Missouri, Dona moved to Albuquerque in 1959. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. "Rusty" Hansen; and her parents, Lowell E. and Margie May White. Dona is survived by her sister, Bette Jean Jones of Bradenton, Florida; three children, Lowell (Craig) Pierson and his wife, Sharon, of T or C, New Mexico; Michael Pierson and his wife, Jane Farris, of Albuquerque; and Carol Ann Pierson and her fiance, Ken Barker, of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her grandson, Robert Pierson, and his wife, Monica, of Albuquerque; her granddaughter, Kathrine Murphy; and two great-grandchildren, Bobbi and Logan Pierson. Dona loved animals, and often had cats and dogs keeping her company. Her past hobbies included golf, darts and Tai Chi. A memorial service will be held on Thursday November 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the French funeral home at 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. HAYES -- Amelia M. "Milly" Hayes passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009. Milly was born Amelia Kollins on January 13, 1918 in Detroit Michigan. She grew up in Lincoln Park, Michigan, and was employed by Romulus Air Force Base, where she met the love of her life, Everett G. Hayes, after he returned from serving in World War II. Everett flew Milly over Manhattan from Connecticut "for a thrill" in his open cockpit Stearman Biplane in 1946. Milly and Everett married in 1947 and they drove to Albuquerque where they would make their home and eventually have four children. In 1954, Milly was one of the founding members of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. She was active in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. After Everett retired from Sandia Labs in 1981, they both enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their motor home, and camping on their 15 acre mountain property, 26 miles east of Albuquerque. Milly was preceded in death by her husband of almost 62 years, Everett, in January of this year, and her daughter, Carol Ann Hayes, in 2008. She is survived by two sons, Robert Hayes and Jack Hayes; one daughter Christine Duncan; two grandchildren, Sarah and Jamie Duncan, all of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law Jeanette Kollins of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Eleanor Nielsen of Orleans, Ma.; and niece Wendy Kollins of Northbrook, IL. Milly was a very social person, and loved people. She was also very generous with others. She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother that anyone could ever have. We will all miss her very much. Services will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul. JARAMILLO -- Arthur Eugene Jaramillo, born February 2, 1961, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009. He is survived by his daughters, Milagra Gomez and Rhiannon Jaramillo; his parents Joseph and Frances Jaramillo; and siblings Joseph, Vincent, Victoria and Beckie, as well as many friends and an extended loving family. He served his country in the USMC and was a critical care nurse in New Mexico. He will be missed by many. MASSEY -- Margaret Massey died October 29,2009 at the age of 92. She lived a long happy and fulfilled life. She will be remembered for her love of family and kindness toward others. MCNEELY -- Ernestine Ida McNeely, 80, a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009. Ernestine, a long-time resident of Albuquerque was born in Colorado and was a graduate of Albuquerque High. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Weldon McNeely on June 17, 2004. Ernestine leaves behind her loving family, Patrick McNeely and wife, Tori and their four children, Jocelyn, Patrick, Daniel and Caitlyn; Joe McNeely and wife, Candice and their two children, Rachelle and Jeff; Linda Walsh and her two daughters, Tamara-Shawn and Melinda; Nancy Dolan and husband, Mike and their daughter, Hannah; Teresa Englund and husband, Bruce and their two children, Reece and Stephanie, James McNeely and wife, Jeanette and their four children, Nicole, James Joseph, Jacob, and Jordan; and John McNeely and wife, Gina and their three children, Matthew, Andrea and Mark. She is also survived by her siblings, Frank Espinosa, Charlotte Espinosa, Edward Espinosa, Victoria Martinez, and Mary Espinosa and many other relatives and friends. Ernestine was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. RIVERA -- Jose B. Rivera, age 83, of Corrales, NM awoke in the presence of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 8, 2009. Jose was born to Jose and Sinforosa (Martinez) Rivera in Canjilon, NM on September 18, 1926. Jose was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who served his country proudly in World War II in the US Army. He was an active member of VFW Post #5432 in Corrales. Jose enjoyed any outdoor sports and taking care of his garden. Jose was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Juan Rivera, Isidoro Rivera, Bertha Rivera, and Leo Rivera. He is survived by his children, Diane C. Fuhrman, Patricia (Patsy) Kramer and husband Cliff, Christina Evans; and seven grandchildre; and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Gavina Madrid, Perfecto Rivera and wife Mabel, Reyes Manzanares and husband Solomon, Sergio Rivera and wife Dorothy, Sinfer Gomez and husband Ramon. ROESCH -- Susan "Suzanne" Roesch, 70, a resident of Sandia Park for 25 years, passed away suddenly on Thursday November 5, 2009. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, David, and two brothers, Nigel and Christopher. She will also be deeply missed by one nephew, two nieces, her in-laws and many friends. Susan started her career with the BBC and retired from the law field after 40 years. She was extremely talented and proud of her craft work. Her remains will be cremated, and buried at a later date. WILLINGHAM -- Hazel Lee Willingham, 103, passed from this life on November 6, 2009. Born February 22, 1906, in Fisher County TX, Hazel lived to see many things in her time. Hazel married Olin Willingham in 1929. They moved to NM with their daughter in 1945 and lived in Albuquerque for several years before settling in Bosque Farms. Hazel enjoyed quilting, cooking, and playing dominoes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin in September of 1997; her sister May Polk; and brother Tom McCombs. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Ryan; her three grandchildren, Rhonda Garland (and husband John), Russell Phillips (and wife Linda), Teresa Curl (and husband Marvin); and her four great-grandchildren, John Austin Garland, Abbie Lee Garland, Elijah Curl and Isaac Curl, and many nieces and nephews. We are blessed to have loved and been loved by her during her long life. She resided at the Beehive Homes West for the last two years, where she received great and loving care. WOODS -- Melvin (Mel) Abbott Woods, born October 29, 1920 in Clayton, NM to Walter Abbott Woods and Oma Kitts Woods, passed away in Albuquerque on November 7. Mel moved to Albuquerque in 1935 during the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. He survived the Pearl Harbor attack working at the U.S. Navy Yard as a civilian. After that event, he joined the U.S. Navy and was discharged with an Honorable Discharge on May 20, 1946. He had a successful career working for the NM Department of Labor and retired with 26 years of service. He spent 25 successful years in real estate as part owner of Manzano Realty and worked for Bender & Co. He was a member of the following: Toastmasters Club, 20-30 Club , American Legion Post 49, Ballut Abyad Shrine. Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Oma Woods; brother James (Buddy); and first wife Constance Woods. He is survived by wife Jane Woods; brother Warren Woods and wife Lucy Woods; and sister Wendy Myers. He is also survived by the following children: Sharon Woods, Ken Woods and Lisa, Marilee and Manny Luera. Stepchildren: Angela and Chris Duran, Phyllis and Ron Narvaez, Stephanie and Mark Kozemchak, Orlando Jr. and Marlene, and Frank Jaramillo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
