ALARID -- Manuel Alarid, 93, passed away on September 23, 2009. He was born November 01, 1915, to Jose & Felicita Alarid, in Los Lunas, NM. Manuel is survived by his sister, Angie Armijo and her husband Ted, of Albuquerque, NM; his nephews, Frank Armijo and his wife Pat, Ron Armijo and his wife Haleen; his nieces, Regina Olivas and her husband Ron, Roseann Hoisington; and numerous other great nieces, nephews, and other family members. Manuel was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. He was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. Manuel was a member of the Risen Savior Catholic Church. He was a very devout Catholic, and dedicated his life to prayer. His human composition consisted of a universe of life's celebration and death's reward. His burdens totaled to no more than his description of his "toothpick cross" which he happily bore while wistfully musing on Jesus, his best friend and savior. For us he was a perfect Christian model, soldier of God, giving all he consisted of to the spreading of God's word and Christian healing. A friend, brother, barber, jeweler, and companion to all. Manuel's generous heart was felt by all in his gentility and prayerful smile. A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Manuel's honor to St. Vincent de Paul c/o Church of the Risen Savior (821-1571).
