BURTON -- Francis C. "Frank" Burton, age 90 of Albuquerque, passed away on June 19, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife Anne of 25 years. He was born in Bethany, WV, on March 4, 1919 to William N. and Florence Burton. Frank graduated from the University of New Mexico, received a certificate from the Bureau of Highway Traffic at Yale University. He worked in Transportation Engineering in Albuquerque, Colorado, Seattle, Atlanta and Cairo, Egypt. He served in WWII 798th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a member of the Nat. Honorary Civil Engineering Fraternity and as actively involved with the friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. Frank also loved gardening. He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel of Follansbee, WV; and sister, Arline of Miles, Ohio; his son-in-law, William Hile Sr.; and his grandson, William Leo Hile, Jr. Frank is survived by his sisters, Beulah Campbell of Stowe, Ohio, Bessie Eddy of Follansbee, WV, Jean Armstrong and her husband Leo of Hemet, CA; his brother, Alan and his wife Donna of Fairview NC; his daughter, Corene Hile of Mesa, Arizona; his granddaughters, Mary Michelle of Yonkers, NY., Linda of Cleveland Heights, OH; grandson Charles and wife Sarah of Richmond, VA; sons-in-law of Albuquerque, Steve Gallea and his wife Linda, Alan Gallea; grandchildren, Eric, Roy and Elizabeth Gallea; and great-grandchildren, Connor and Ashley Hile, Caiden and Mia Gallea. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 4:00 p.m., at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd NE. Private Inurnment in Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. DOMINGUEZ -- Serafin Dominguez, 73, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Serafin was born August 17, 1935 the son of Abel and Abranita Garcia Dominguez in Bernalillo, New Mexico. He served on the Bernalillo City Council for 24 years. Serafin was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Andrew and Abel Dominguez; brother, Joaquin Dominguez; and one sister, Susie Chavez. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Dominguez of Rio Rancho; two daughters, Catherine Denise Johnson and husband Lawrence of Albuquerque, and Rachel Christine Dominguez and husband John Montoya of Bernalillo; grandchildren, Rachel Marie Dominguez (twin) of Bernalillo, and Liam Andrew Joseph Johnson of Albuquerque; brother, Dan Dominguez and wife Maria of Las Cruces; sisters, Claudina Dominguez of Bernalillo, and Cirilia Salas of Bernalillo; sister-in-law, Estella Romero and brother-in-law, Oliver Romero and wife Socorro, all of Bernalillo. DUNNAGAN -- Patricia Jean Dunnagan, 53, and a long time resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord after heart failure, on Sunday, June 21, 2009, with her loving family at her side. Patricia was born in Raton, New Mexico on September 6, 1955. Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Fred Garms. Patricia is survived by her loving family; her mother, Mildred "Millie" Garms of Bosque Farms, NM; her sisters, Kathy Kitchens and her husband Terry, Fritz "Fredda" Garms-Martinez and her husband Martin; two nephews, Gregory and Richard Kitchens all of Albuquerque; four aunts, Pauline Cox of Lubbock, TX, Nancy Meyer of Socorro and Bobby Whiting of Bosque Farms, Betty White and her husband Glen of Mosquero, NM; many more loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Patricia was employed at Automated Election Service for 21 years. As Election Coordinator, she was very dedicated to her work and was very appreciated by the New Mexico County Clerks. Patricia loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for being very generous and giving and for her love of animals. She would take in a stray without any hesitation. FERNANDEZ -- Vincent "Chente" R. Fernandez, 34, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2009 and is now with our Lord. Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Janice; his children, Wesley Moreland, Katherine Fernandez and Daniel Fernandez; his mother, Mrs. Rosie Fernandez; his sisters, Marcella Fernandez and husband, Joseph Linam, and Angela Fernandez and partner, Dora Lujan; his nephew, Nicholas Fernandez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Vincent was preceded in death by his father, Roman Fernandez. Vincent was a member of the Catholic Church; he was a simple, hard working gentleman who lived and loved for his family. FREGIA -- Kelly Lee Fregia, 79, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 peacefully. He is survived by his daughters, Minnie Jo Chace and her husband Jeffrey M., and Lee Ann Fregia and Frank Gurule; grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Chace, Trudy L. Chace, Nick Fregia, Lena Berkey; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Chace, Jr., Justin Chace "J.J.", Madison Chace, and Sequoia J. Chace, and his son's companion Stephanie Wiebe. Kelly was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Jo; his parents, Kelly L. Fregia and Minnie C. Dahse; and his son, Kelly N. Fregia. He loved sports. During high school, he boxed and played football for Colorado City High School, Colorado City, Texas. Kelly also boxed while serving in the US Navy. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. One of his true passions was photography. He received numerous awards over the years for his photographs, including several ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair. Kelly was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed attending sports activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. FRIDAY -- Larry Martin Friday, 74, of Taos, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Holy Cross Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Martin "Jimmy" Friday, Dorothy Howell Gregston; and his in laws H.L. and Fern Galles (Papa and Gigi); and brother-in-law H. Lee Galles. He is survived by his wife, Judi Friday; daughters Debbie Friday-Jagers (Marty Jagers), Mary Friday (Eddie Joe Abeyta), Elizabeth "Betsy" Friday (Marc Skoda); and his four grandchildren, Joseph Jagers, Jackie Jagers, Adam Joseph "A.J." Abeyta and Leah Abeyta. He is also survived by his brother, David Gregston (Carla ) of Oregon, Rosie Bourzac (Paul) of Fresno, and his brother-in-law Rick Galles (Tina) of Albuquerque, sister-in-law Karen Mische (Lynd) of Kansas City and numerous nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was also very blessed with many, many close friends. He was involved in his community supporting numerous civic projects such as CDBG, President of the Lions Club, Board of Directors of Western Bank of Taos, Past President of the Taos Chamber of Commerce, Chevrolet Dealer Council, Board Member of New Mexico Auto Dealer Association, and one of the original founders of the Taos Mountain Balloon Rally. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. "Fuzzy" was very involved in auto racing as a driver and pit crew member of Unser-Galles-Friday Racing, and an accomplished pilot. He created the local roller rink, owned and operated a sawmill, and managed timeshare condominiums. He loved mowing his yard for everyone to enjoy and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Prior to his automotive career, Larry was a 4-star/4-year Letterman at Midland High School, a unique accomplishment. "Peanut", he graduated from Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos, TX. He was a Texas All Star Football Player in 1953. He was best known as the friendly car dealer "Aqui en Taos"! HARRIS -- Dorothy "Dottie" Jo Harris, 85, a native of Albuquerque, went to the bowling alley in the sky Tuesday, June 23, 2009. She is survived by her children, Kathleen L. Harris, Dorothy J. Sanchez and husband, Tim L., and Fred Harris and wife, Kay Cagle; grandchildren, Monica, Ernestine, and Desiree; and great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Alexis, Ernesto, Sonya, and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frederick Harris, Sr.; and son, Willie Harris. Dorothy was very thoughtful; her family and friends meant the world to her. She was an avid bowler and loved baseball; she watched her husband, son and daughter play for over 50 years. Dottie was the oldest youngest person her family and friends ever knew. HETH -- Arne Heth, age 82, left this earth quietly in his sleep on Saturday, June 20, 2009. He was a resident of Belen, NM for over 50 years where he taught English for over 28 years. Arne was a man of quiet dignity, enormous integrity, fiercely independent, with a wonderful sense of humor. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force in 1946-1948 in Europe after World War II. Arne Heth is survived by his daughter Mara T. Majane of Wilton, CT; his two sons Marcus W. Heth of Fredericksburg, VA and Erik A. Heth of Dublin, CA; and his grandchildren, Jason H. and Sara E. HOFFMAN -- Bruce Hoffman. Dr. Hoffman, 56, giving father, beloved brother, caring chiropractor, and loyal friend died on Father's Day, June 21, 2009, after a long illness. Bruce dedicated his life to raising and supporting his two sons. He loved music and helping others, especially his friends and patients. His favorite saying was "live your life with love," which is exactly what he did. Bruce is survived by his two sons, Luke Hoffman of Pagosa Springs, CO, and Nathan Hoffman and wife, Diedra, of Alb; brothers, Dennis Hoffman, Paul Hoffman and wife, Suzy; sisters, Karen Edwards and husband, Bob, and Laurel Moore Clinch and husband, Jim; and former wife, Susan Hoffman. LEESTMA -- David "Dave" J. Dr. Leestma, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009. He was born January 23, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Florence Leestma; his son Christopher Leestma of Austin, TX; his daughter Rachel Leestma of Albuquerque, NM; and his niece Ruth Brower of Dallas, TX. Dave was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Leestma; and his daughter Deborah Leestma. The son of a police captain, Dave had a lifelong love of firearms and how they worked. He received a B.S. in Chemistry from Marquette University, in 1957; a M.S. in Physics from Syracuse University in 1959; and a Doctorate in Physics, specializing in ballistics, from Universite de Paris, Orsay in 1966. Dave worked for many years in various Departments of the Federal Government. His work at the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency included nuclear feasibility studies and analysis that were used in developing the SALT treaties. Dave was a member of the National War College in 1975 and received the Meritorious Honor Award in 1980. After retiring to Albuquerque, Dave was able to devote himself full-time to his lifelong passion. Dave joined the Del Norte Gun Club and acted as their President and Membership Chairman for several years. During his tenure as the club's president, he was instrumental in negotiating the transfer of the "Old" Del Norte Gun Club to it's new location. LINK -- Wilson Douglas Link, age 93, passed away on June 20, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to John and Jamie Link in O'Brien, TX on July 2, 1915. Wilson moved with his mother and two younger sisters in 1932 in a covered wagon to their homestead in Fence Lake, NM. In 1938, he married his best friend for life, Ruth Boyett. They raised their family of three sons and farmed pinto beans in Fence Lake until the mid-1950's. In 1957, they moved to Roswell, NM where Wilson worked as a carpenter for Home Planning Development Company. In 1970, they moved to Idaho where they tried their hand at irrigation farming. Five years later they returned to New Mexico, and Wilson resumed working for Home Planning in Albuquerque. He retired at age 69. Wilson and Ruth continued to live in their home until his death. Wilson is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; sons Bob, Lynn and Rusty; daughter-in-law, Pam; grandchildren Meredith Neimeyer of Farmington; Casey Link of Albuquerque; John and Jeff Link of Austin, TX; Audrey Link Archer of Austin; seven great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Gay Boyett. Wilson is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Virginia Bruton, Floice McLendon and Loice Stinnet; and his daughter Doris Jane. In addition to his family and friends, Wilson loved New Mexico, baseball, telling stories and working. He is deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed. MCBRAYER -- Meghan Maureen McBrayer, 26, was born in Red River but lived most of her life in Albuquerque. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 20, 2009. MCRAE -- Ralph Thomas McRae, age 88, of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009. He was born September 9, 1920 in Youngstown, OH but moved to McElhattan, PA, soon after his birth. Ralph worked as a Design Draftsman for Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven, PA, for 14 years. In 1954, he moved to Albuquerque to work as a Design Draftsman for Sandia National Laboratories. He retired from there in 1983. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary E. (Smith) McRae in 1997; son, The Reverend Thomas F. McRae in 1984; and sister, Virginia Avitabile in 1998. He is survived by his son, Wayne G. McRae and wife, Christine of Mill Hall, PA; daughter-in-law, Cynthia McRae of Denver, CO; and daughter, Rosalie Swanson and husband, Gary, of Albuquerque. Other survivors include his grandson, Ian A. McRae, and wife, Jennifer of Denver, CO; grandson, David T. Swanson, and fiancee, Nikki of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Jennifer E. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bartlett Mitchell on June 23, 2004, their anniversary; and his first wife, Mary Jane Wood Mitchell. Jerry was born on December 23, 1916 to Grace and Dr. Lynn B. Mitchell, who was a Dean at UNM. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1934, was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a professional engineer. Jerry proudly served as a Lt. Colonel in the USMC during WWII in the Pacific. He worked in China and India for Standard Oil after the war until returning to Albuquerque in 1959. His career with the BIA took him to Shiprock and Gallup. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Dorothy moved to Cochiti Lake where they enjoyed many wonderful years with great friends. Jerry enjoyed fishing and the Albuquerque Little Theater. His kindness and gentle manner will be greatly missed by his family. MONTE -- Mildred Madeline Monte, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 after a long illness. She is survived by her dear sister, Mary Vaio, who cared for her during her life and nursed her with love and commitment during her most difficult hours; sister-in-law, Peggy Monte; brother-in-law, Earl Cook, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, George and Lawrence Monte; and sisters, Ida Sei, Catherine Poteet, and Alice Cook. Mildred was born to George, Sr. and Rosa Devoti Monte on May 2, 1928, the sixth child of eight siblings. She graduated from Tech High School in Omaha, Nebraska and was accepted to Regina School of Nursing at St. Joseph's College in Albuquerque. Aunt Mildred was kind and gentle with a beautiful sense of humor and will be deeply missed. A Rosary will be recited Friday, June 26, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. NEAL -- Steven Joseph Neal, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at age 59. Born in Sendai, Japan, Steve grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Albuquerque in 1973. He and his beloved wife Caryl raised a family together in Corrales, where they were deeply involved in the Corrales Adobe Theatre and brought joy to fellow actors and audiences alike. They opened their home to a multitude of people over the years, creating a loving family that went far beyond the bounds of blood kinship, a family that Steve supported in many different ways. Steve also shared his humor and generous spirit with his fellow workers at PNM, where he made many deep and lasting friendships. He will be forever loved and missed. SELGADO -- Lorencita Selgado, 88, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2009 in the presence of her daughter and granddaughter. She served many years as a missionary for our Lord, and she made impressions in many lives. She worked in Juarez, Mexico in an orphanage with her beloved husband and helped with the poor throughout Juarez as they ministered the Word of the Lord to the people she served. She will be remembered for the seeds she has planted in everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed. VILLEGAS-BACA -- Rose Mary Villegas-Baca, 56, peacefully passed away Friday, June 12, 2009. She is now rejoicing eternally with her beloved savior Jesus Christ, and will be dearly missed by all. WILLIAMSON -- Christine Evans Williamson, 94, a resident of Las Vegas, NM until 1981, died at her home in Albuquerque on Saturday evening, June 20, 2009. She was well-known as the owner-operator of Williamson's Greenhouses and Flower Shop in Las Vegas, NM along with her husband, Glado "Blackie" Williamson. She was born in Lufkin, TX on April 8, 1915 the daughter of the late Robert Jehue Evans and Louisa Evanline Gowan. In 1938, she married Glado "Blackie" Williamson and remained his faithful partner and wife until his death in 1979. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Williamson Harker of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren, John A. Box of Ruidoso,NM, Cherie L. Buxton of Amarillo, TX, and Robert Williamson (Bobby Box) of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Ann Anderswon of San Antonio, TX; six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
