BLACKWELL -- William "Weelo" Edward Blackwell, 81, passed away on March 13, 2009. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jan Boyd Blackwell; his beloved daughters, Tracie B. Moore (R. Chris, deceased) of Cleveland, OH; Leslie B. Oliver (Carl R.) of San Antonio, TX; his four adoring grandsons, Michael W. Moore of Duluth, MN, Thomas M. Moore of Washington, D.C., R. Boyd Oliver and W. Rust Oliver of San Antonio, TX; numerous nephews and nieces; and his lifelong friends, Gene and Neil Baker, El Paso, TX. Bill was born and raised in El Paso, TX and graduated from Texas Western College, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Prior to college, Bill was in the Navy during World War II, serving on a mine sweeper in the Pacific, the USS Towhee #388. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1955 to join Boyd Engineering Co. He retired as President of the company in 1989. Bill served as President of the State Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, President of the Albuquerque Trap Club, and was involved in numerous military organizations including DOCA (Defense Orientation Conference Association) and The 8th Air Force. He and his wife were members of the Albuquerque Country Club for 41 years. Bill was an exceptional trap and skeet shooter as well as an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. Bill was always happy, loved people, was greatly loved and will be missed by many. A private family graveside service will be held followed by a reception for friends at the Blackwell's home on Wednesday, March 18, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation, P.O. DELCID -- Katherine "Katy" Delcid, age 61, born in Anton Chico, New Mexico, to the late Ignacio and Maria Gonzales. Katy was a graduate of Santa Rosa High School and was a long time resident of Santa Ana, California, moving to Albuquerque in the early 90's. She went home to the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Hiram; two sons, Mark and his wife Laura, and Luis; daughter, Rachel and her husband Al; five grandchildren, Alex, Phillip, Brianna, Kayleigh, and Vanessa; two sisters, Annie Aragon and her husband Jim, and Celina; eight brothers, Crisantos and his wife Margie, Federico, Ramon, Eduardo, Juan and his wife Estefanita, Ignacio Jr. and his wife Cindy, Cipriano, and Simon. EDWARDS -- William ("Bill") Provine passed away peacefully March 13, 2009. Born May 22, 1941 in Chicago, IL, Bill was one of six children born to Horatio & Grace Edwards. Bill moved to Albuquerque when he was 17 years old and never left. This was home to him. He was a longtime, dedicated interstate driver who racked up over three million miles working for Navajo and PIE Trucking. He was a past president of the Teamsters Local Union 492. Bill was an awnry, fun loving and charming character with an enormous heart. His love for his family was immense. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Horatio & Grace, his daughter Rhonda Kay, and his former wife, Cathy. Survivors include his son, William Wayne, his grandchildren, Eri Anna, January, & Dominic; his brothers, Richard & John; his sisters, Mary, Sarah, & Joy; and numerous nieces and nephews. GARCIA -- Adrian "None" Garcia Jr., age 54, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his home. GIGNAC -- Edwin J. Gignac, 78, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, March 13, 2009. He is survived by his wife Luisa; children Donie Jo Gignac, Marie T. Gignac (Robert) and Raymond E. Gignac (Linda); grandchildren Jason, Melissa and Kristen Gignac, Richard and Thomas Heitman and two great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Josephine Gignac. Ed retired from the Easter Seals Society. He was a member of the Rio Grande Kiwanis Club, Edelweiss German-American Club and Irish American Society. GOODRICH -- Edna Catherine Goodrich passed away March 14, 2009 at the age of 91. She was born March 3, 1918 in Havana, Illinois to Friedrich William Pfeiffer and Una Chaney Pfeiffer. After graduating from nursing school at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Edna married Donald E. Goodrich, then a Lieutenant in the Illinois National Guard, on November 20, 1940. At the end of the war, we moved to Albuquerque, where Mom and Dad operated a chicken and commercial flower farm at 229 86th Street on the West Mesa. Mom was a Den Mother, Girl Scout leader, school nurse, and member of the West Mesa Garden Club. She was predeceased by her husband in 1995; and is survived by her son Donald W. Goodrich; daughter Linda K. Goodrich; granddaughter Diana J. Goodrich; grandson Christopher M. Goodrich and wife Janice; and great- granddaughters Sharon, Jamie, Karen, and Kari. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE; interment to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.

HARGROVE -- Encarnacion Gaya Hargrove, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died March 14, 2009. She is survived by her daughter Anne Mae Gold and husband Robert, grandchildren Arthur and wife Kelly, David Javier and Sara Rose, sisters Ana Maria and Rosario, sisters in law Maria del Pilar, Norma Jewel Heidal and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harrell G. Hargove. Encar was born in Soria, Spain and grew up in Madrid. She met and married Gene while working for the US Air Force. Once Gene transferred to the BIA, the family lived in many exciting places and then settled in Santa Fe where she was a teaching assistant and later a Librarian in the Public School System. After Gene's passing she moved to Albuquerque to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Encarnacion was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Community. A memorial Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009 and a memorial Mass will be celebrated following the Rosary at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE, Albuquerque. The family would like to express special thanks to Heritage Home Health Care and to all her friends who came by to visit and also those who showed their love for her in other ways. HARGROVE -- Ronald passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 11, 2009. He was 45 years old, and a resident of Albuquerque. Ronald left his mother Francis Soltero; his two sisters Rebecca Quintanna and Cathy Key; he also left behind a niece Vicky Mondragon; two nephews Victor Hargrove and Lee Gates; and many friends. KELLY -- Gloria June Kelly, 84, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Albuquerque, NM. A recent resident of Albuquerque, Mrs. Kelly resided in Espanola, NM, from 1950 until 2006, where she owned and operated insurance businesses, supported philanthropic causes and served as a community leader. While in Northern New Mexico, she was instrumental in the development of the Espanola Hospital, Valley View United Methodist Church, Let's Read literacy program and shelters for children and women. Mrs. Kelly also was a leader in the Rio Arriba County Republican Women organization and generous supporter of McCurdy School. Mrs. Kelly was recognized for her leadership and advocacy of quality-of-life initiatives when she was selected to receive the KOAT-7 Jefferson Award in 1996 from Governor Gary E. Johnson, which stated: "Your service, dedication and commitment to your fellow New Mexicans is an example of the ability of citizens to improve their communities in an effective and ennobling way.." Gloria June Ryon was born, Friday, August 1, 1924, in Electra, TX, to James and Odris Ryon, and resided in Las Vegas, NM, from 1928 to 1950, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Kelly, who passed away in 1984. Mrs. Kelly is survived by her sister, Sara Chamis of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Ginny Reed of Rio Rancho; daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Sam Brock) and Judy (Mrs. David Duran) of Albuquerque; grandsons, Edward and wife, Jesse Brock of Rio Rancho and Wayne and wife, Cynthia Brock of Albuquerque; granddaughters, J. Kathleen Duran and husband, Michael Monske of Albuquerque and Kelly C. Duran of Glendale, AZ; great-grandsons, Ryon Brock and Drake Monske and great- granddaughter Adilyne Brock. LOBATO -- Santiago G. "Jimmy" Lobato, 63, joined his Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2009. He was born on May 16, 1946 in Embudo, NM to Jose Felipe and Candelaria Lobato. He spent the majority of his life as resident of Albuquerque. Jimmy was an endearing soul with a personality not many could resist. His love for singing, performing, and drawing made him a true artist. Jimmy loved to be center stage and had the social skills and sharp appearance to keep us all entertained. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Felipe and Candelaria Lobato. Jimmy is survived by his aunts, Bessie Brito and husband Rudy, Selena Pasillias and husband Manuel, Ella Garcia, and Lucy Garcia; brother Phillip Lobato and wife Patricia; nephews, Leonard Lobato and wife Debbie, Lloyd Lobato and wife Mary, and Patrick Lobato and wife Tally; nieces, Bernadette Jones and husband Ron, and Brigette Borrego-Antista and husband Larry; seven grandnephews; eight grandnieces; two great-grandnephews; and two great-grandnieces. NESBITT -- Jerry Donald Nesbitt, age 73, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2009. Jerry was born in Clovis, New Mexico on September 2, 1935 and came to Albuqueruqe on a football scholarship in 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul M. and Alice Berti (Privett) Nesbitt; brother, Leroy Nebitt; sisters, Vera Louise Nesbitt, Bertie Pope and Sharon Chisum. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Wilford and son-in-law Eric Wilford of San Clemente, CA; son Eric Nesbitt and girlfriend, Paula Beldon of Albuquerque, NM; his brothers, Bill Nesbitt and wife Rosalie of Yuma, CO; Dr. Leslie B.Nesbitt and wife, Mary of Santa Ana, CA; Reverend Tom Nesbitt and wife Marie, Ames, IA; Gene Nesbitt and wife Margaret, of Wichita Falls, TX and Tim Nesbitt and wife, Plyna of Midland, TX and his sister, Bonnie Chisolm of Lubbock, TX. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Connor and Catilin Wilford of San Clemente,CA. Jerry graduated from UNM with a BA and Masters in teaching mathematics and played football for the Lobos and received these awards: All American Honorable Mention, Most Valuable Player and All Conference Player. Jerry retired from teaching as a math teacher from Del Norte High School in 1987 and had been working at the Arroyo del Oso Golf Course for 35 years. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. PADILLA -- Katie B. Padilla was born July 17, 1944 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the age of 64. Katie enjoyed playing Bingo and cooking for the family. Katie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anastacio Padilla. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Gonzalez and husband Albino Padilla and Irene Trujeque; sisters, Barbara Molinar, Grace Trujillo and Tita Velasquez; brothers, Anthony Lopez and Jimmy Lopez; her grandchildren, Joyce Gonzalez, June Newmen, Paul Gonzalez, Mark Gonzalez, Larry Medina, Vanessa Monge and Jose Monge; sixteen great grandchildren; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. ROBBINS -- Betty L Robbins, 85, died March 15, 2009. She is survived by her children, Steven Robbins, David Robbins and wife, Jan; grandchildren, Matt Robbins and fiancee, Melanie Aragon, Nick Robbins and Lizzie Chavez and husband, Charles; nephew, Michael Louden and wife, Maureen of Charleston, IL; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B Robbins; son, Peter; and her brother, Carmen. Betty was a member of The Episcopal Church of St Mary where she was active in the women's guild, retired from the Albuquerque Water Dept where she worked for over 11 years, was a book keeper for her husband and also for the Bellamah Corporation in the 1950's. Grandma Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed. SEWARD -- Charles R. Seward left us to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2009. "Chuck" as he was known to his family and friends leaves a legacy of loving his family, a great friend to many people and a business professional whose advice and counsel was, by many, considered priceless. Chuck was born in Smackover, Arkansas on May 22, 1931. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Ruby, of Albuquerque; a son, Hal and his wife Leslie of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; a sister, Tommie Hess of Durango, Colorado and a sister, Marie Barnett of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Seward and Daisy Burton; his sister, Louise; and brothers, Lloyd, Raymond and James. Chuck was a graduate of Carlsbad High School. After high school he enlisted in the Navy serving most of his four year duty at Pearl Harbor. He attended the University of New Mexico and was a graduate of Browning Business College. Chuck was a certified public accountant. After retiring from his fulltime practice in 2007, he worked on a limited basis as partner and counsel to the firm of Golden, Seward & Kelley of Roswell. Chuck was a prior board member and past president of the New Mexico Society of Public Accountants and served two terms as the Society's State Director to the National Society of Accountants. He served two terms as a District Governor of the National Society of Accountants. He was a prior board member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants and a past recipient of the Society's Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to his professional practice, as service to the accounting professional's trade associations, Chuck served six years as an investigator for the New Mexico Public Accountancy Board. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna NE. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ed Cooper, Bill Golden, Jim Hoyt, Dwain Love, Mike Monroy and Kim Purce. ZAMORA -- Cathy Oliver Zamora, 52, a resident of Albuquerque for over 20 years, was called home Saturday, March 14, 2009. She is survived by her husband, David Zamora; daughters, Tiffany Oliver Leigh and husband, Kevin and Victoria Zamora all of Albuquerque; parents, Wesley and Margaret Tout of Aberdeen, MD; her sister, Debra Zacharek and husband, Timothy of Bear, DE; her brother, Timothy Tout and wife, Elsie, of Bridgeton, NJ; and a large extended group of family and friends. Cathy worked for many years as a pre-school teacher for the City of Albuquerque and was the Director of Los Volcanes Child Development Center. Her love for her fellow man and especially children, gave her the ability to see the good in all people and reach any child. She was a member of Mesa View United Methodist Church. Until her illness, Cathy was an exercise enthusiast - regularly getting to the gym at 4:30 a.m. She loved cooking, entertaining and spending time with her friends and family. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at Mesa View United Methodist Church, 4701 Montano N.W. 87120.
