BLACKWELL -- William "Weelo" Edward Blackwell, 81, passed away on March 13, 2009. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jan Boyd Blackwell; his beloved daughters, Tracie B. Moore (R. Chris, deceased) of Cleveland, OH; Leslie B. Oliver (Carl R.) of San Antonio, TX; his four adoring grandsons, Michael W. Moore of Duluth, MN, Thomas M. Moore of Washington, D.C., R. Boyd Oliver and W. Rust Oliver of San Antonio, TX; numerous nephews and nieces; and his lifelong friends, Gene and Neil Baker, El Paso, TX. Bill was born and raised in El Paso, TX and graduated from Texas Western College, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Prior to college, Bill was in the Navy during World War II, serving on a mine sweeper in the Pacific, the USS Towhee #388. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1955 to join Boyd Engineering Co. He retired as President of the company in 1989. Bill served as President of the State Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, President of the Albuquerque Trap Club, and was involved in numerous military organizations including DOCA (Defense Orientation Conference Association) and The 8th Air Force. He and his wife were members of the Albuquerque Country Club for 41 years. Bill was an exceptional trap and skeet shooter as well as an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. Bill was always happy, loved people, was greatly loved and will be missed by many. A private family graveside service will be held followed by a reception for friends at the Blackwell's home on Wednesday, March 18, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation, P.O. CIARLOTTA -- Theresa L. Ciarlotta, 87 years old and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2009. Theresa is survived by her sons, Albert and wife Kathleen and Robert of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Lee Ciarlotta of Glendale, Arizona, Aaron Ciarlotta and wife Regan of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Louise Hackney and husband, Nate, Chuck Helmer of Colorado, Heather Garcia and fiance Adam Gonzales and Cassandra Ciarlotta of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Justin Hurst, Zane Ciarlotta, Dharma Garcia and Keyra Gonzales; and two great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh Harper and Thor Helmer. Also surviving are her sister, Romida Bryden from East Hampton, MY and brother, Frank Landi of Apopka, Florida and also nieces and nephews in New York. Theresa loved to bowl, crochet and knit and enjoyed the company of her bowling friends who were all very special to her. DELCID -- Katherine "Katy" Delcid, age 61, born in Anton Chico, New Mexico, to the late Ignacio and Maria Gonzales. Katy was a graduate of Santa Rosa High School and was a long time resident of Santa Ana, California, moving to Albuquerque in the early 90's. She went home to the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Hiram; two sons, Mark and his wife Laura, and Luis; daughter, Rachel and her husband Al; five grandchildren, Alex, Phillip, Brianna, Kayleigh, and Vanessa; two sisters, Annie Aragon and her husband Jim, and Celina; eight brothers, Crisantos and his wife Margie, Federico, Ramon, Eduardo, Juan and his wife Estefanita, Ignacio Jr. and his wife Cindy, Cipriano, and Simon. EDWARDS -- William ("Bill") Provine passed away peacefully March 13, 2009. Born May 22, 1941 in Chicago, Ill, Bill was one of six children born to Horatio and Grace Edwards. Bill moved to Albuquerque when he was 17 years old and never left. This was home to him. He was a longtime, dedicated interstate driver who racked up over 3 million miles working for Navajo and PIE Trucking. He was a past president of the Teamsters Local Union 492. Bill was a fun loving and charming character with an enormous heart. His love for his family was immense. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horatio and Grace; his daughter Rhonda Kay; and his former wife, Cathy. Survivors include his son, William Wayne; his grandchildren, Eri Anna, January, amd Dominic; his brothers, Rick and John; his sisters, Mary, Sarah, and Joy; and numerous nieces and nephews. JONES -- Debra Jones, 53, passed away March 13, 2009. She was born to Elmer and Lela Cauthon in Albuquerque, where she was a lifetime resident. Debbie was a true animal lover, willing to do anything for any stray animal or person she came across needing help. She is survived by her mother, Lela; brother and sisters, George Cauthon, Marlene Kolkman (Wayne), and Maureen Mignone (Joe); numerous nieces and nephews, and many furry four-legged friends. LAWSON -- Laura Gene Lawson, 93, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Ackerly, died on Friday, March 13, 2009, in Albuquerque. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring. The family will receive guests on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include daughter, Shirley Isler and husband Randy; two granddaughters; two great grandsons, all of Albuquerque and one sister Wanda Stump of Austin. LIVINGSTON -- Kitty Flint Livingston, 90, passed away March 13, 2009, after a prolonged illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude Clayberg and T.H. Flint of Artesia; husband Frank Livingston; son George Livingston; and five siblings. She is survived by son George Livingston of the family home, daughter Mo Sue Palmer; grandchildren Frank and Keriman Livingston of Dallas, Flint Livingston of Oregon, Vicki and Jeff Gale, David Palmer, Nathan and Nysha Livingston of Albuquerque, Kristi, Robin, and Shelly King; and great-grandchildren Jasmine, Emyli, Thomas and Isabel Livingston, Jakob Gale and Katrina and Kyria Pool. Kitty graduated from the University of New Mexico, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She taught at Wilson Middle School and was a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church. She will be interred with the Flint Family in Artesia at a later date. MORAN -- Anne R. Moran, 88, died March 13, 2009. She is survived by her sons Dick Moran, Dr. Steve Moran and wife Kandi, grandchildren, Holly Smith and husband Ryan, Luke Moran and wife Shanna, great grandson Hudson Smith. Anne is also survived by her sister Jean Bushell and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Chuck" Moran, her parents Harry and Pearl Richards. Anne attended Duke University and received her Bachelors degree from Russell Sage College, Troy, New York. She then taught physical education at the university level. She was an airline stewardess when she met her future husband Chuck, an Air Force fighter pilot, in Denver, CO. After they married they were stationed in many different places before retiring in Albuquerque. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed bridge and had a passion for gardening. Anne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. A private memorial service will be held at the family home for family and friends. SANCHEZ -- Connie M. Sanchez, age 83, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 13, 2009 in Albuquerque. She was born to Teofilo and Margarita Sanchez in Albuquerque, NM. Connie was a Sister of Charity from 1949 to 1974. She taught elementary school in Ohio, Colorado, and New Mexico and retired as an elementary school teacher. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph on the Ohio and received her Masters degree from UNM. She was an active member of the Catholic Church, and was involved in helping many charities. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Bargas, and Della Jaramillo; sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. A "special thank you" for all the loving care and concern given by her niece, Margaret Romero and husband, Pete and the caregivers at Hoffmantown House. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Louie Sanchez, Della Heard, Joe Sanchez, Mercedes Sandoval, Herman Sanchez, Phil Sanchez, and Gorman Sanchez. WHITT -- Roy L. Whitt passed away on March 13, 2009 in Edgewood, New Mexico. He was 83 years old. He was born in Red Oak, OK on September 4, 1925 to Arizona and Johnie Whitt of Roswell, New Mexico. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernie and Harvey; and two sisters, Imageen and Willie Frances; and one son, Robert Roy. Roy married June Heise on April 24, 1949 and remained together until her passing in 2007. Roy is survived by his daughter, Janice Whitt-Cherner and husband Elliot of Chandler, AZ; two grandsons, Tim McCants and wife Cecelia of Edgewood, NM and Michael R. McCants and wife Rosa of Mesa, AZ. Roy had 11 great-grandchildren, Brittany and husband Daniel, Dennis, Michael, Derek, Tyler, William, Nicholas, Dillon, Ashley and Nathan; and one great-great grandson Rylee Joel. Roy had three sisters, Dorothy Cooley of Roswell, NM, Lucille Havens of Roswell, NM and Hazel Lee of Binger, OK. Roy leaves behind many nieces and nephews too many to mention by name.
