ENEA -- Gaieton Enea "Tom", age 60, passed away at home Monday, July 2, 2007, with his loving wife by his side. He was a longtime business owner. Tom is survived by his wife, Anne Enea; sons, Vincent and Tommy; father, Antonio Enea; brother, Salvador Enea; sister, Marie Kincaid; all his parrots; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. FRANCIA -- Leroy Francia, 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday. He is survived by son: Joe (Michelle) Francia with daughters: Jenise and Janae; daughter: Valerie "BooBoo" (Sean) Daly with children:Deidra and Sean Jr.; ex-wife: Katie Francia; brothers: Delfin (Yolanda) Paz, Larry (Betty) Francia, and David (Sandra) Sanchez; sisters: Ernestine Zamora (Tomas Torres), Virginia Francia, Clorinda (Santiago) Vargas, Carmen (Tommy) Green, Julie (Pete) Vigil, Lucille (Rafael) Martinez; many nephews and nieces; and four godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Luciano and Lucy Francia; sister: Lorraine Saavedra, brother: Anthony Francia, grandson: Jeremy Francia and grandmother: Elisia Paz. GARCIA -- Celia S. Garcia, 82 a lifelong Puerto De Luna, NM resident died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Vermont Manor in Albuquerque following an illness. Celia was born November 21, 1924 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Flugencio N. Saiz and the former Isabelita Lopez. She was reared and attended school in Puerto De Luna. Celia married Joe Garcia in Puerto De Luna on May 12, 1945. They ranched and farmed at Puerto De Luna for many years. She was a devout member of Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna where she and Joe served as mayordomos for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters since 1986. Celia was preceded in death by her husband Joe Garcia in 1980; her parents; two brothers Luis Saiz and Joe Saiz; and a sister Casianita Fajardo, Survivors include a sister Nea Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7PM Thursday, July 5, 2007 from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna, NM. Mass will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 AM Friday, July 6, 2007 with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Nuestra Senora De Refugio Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. Pallbearers will include Larry Moreno, Arthur Ariaz, Eddie Fajardo, Alfred Padilla, Tony Saiz, and Nick Saiz. Honorary bearers will be the Catholic Daughters and all her nieces and nephews. HUDSON -- Dee On June 28, 2007, our precious beloved Dee Hudson peacefully entered the gates of heaven after a short battle with cancer in Fairfax, Virginia. As she departed she was surrounded by her loved ones, her mother, Phyllis Berntoncello, her partner, John Zarou; her four children, Leigh Cassedy, John Grannie, Tarri Hudson, Shari Hudson; and two of her four grandchildren, Maddi Cassedy and Jeffrey Cassedy. Her daughter-in-law, Dana Grannie; and her two other grandchildren, Nicole Grannie and Christina Grannie join with family and friends to celebrate the joy in knowing she is at peace in God's Kingdom. She loved the mountains, south western flare, jewelry, green chiles, anything spicy and dragon flies. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting numerous dinner parties and many memorable events. She loved to dance, was always singing and she knew the words to every song. She enjoyed more than 20 years as a successful business owner in the Washington, DC area. She loved traveling and spent years in search of the ultimate place to retire and found it here in New Mexico. She has been a resident of Placitas, New Mexico for over 20 years. She loved her home that faced the Sandia Mountains. She called it "Her Mountain" and anytime she was away she made it perfectly clear that she could not wait to bet back to "Her Mountain". She was kind, generous and compassionate of others and always gave willingly to her family and friends. She opened her heart to all and readily made life long friendships. She had wisdom for every occasion. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful laugh and a fabulous smile. She loved birthdays and holidays and went all out on both. Everything through her life testified her love of her family and friends. It is a profound truth the uniqueness of each person can never be replaced. She was truly one of a kind and the memory of her love will remain in the hearts of those who love her. She loved life and lived to the fullest. She had many talents and interests, which included travels all over the world, cruises and her favorite vacation spot, Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. In the last month of her life, she visited with three of her children in Florida, while there she arranged and family celebration which included her four children and her mother. She also attended a dear friends wedding in North Carolina and then a visit with her daughter in Virginia. The family enjoyed a celebration of her life with friends in Virginia on Sunday, July 1, 2007. Dee will be laid to rest in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Gate of Heaven, facing "Her Mountain". She is a treasure and inspiration to us all. She will be deeply missed. We love you MOM. MADDALENI -- Mauro "Jeff" Maddaleni, age 93, of Raton, NM, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 in Raton. He was born December 26, 1913 in Spoleto, Italy, the son of Guiseppe and Theresa Santi, Maddaleni. Jeff was a Veteran of WW11 serving in the United States Army, a member of St. Patrick's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Raton Elks Lodge, and the United Miners Union. He is survived by his wife, Rose of the family home; son, Jeffery and wife, Marianne of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Mark and Andrea Maddaleni of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Neva Thomas of Raton, NM, and Elda Rigdon of Belen, NM; numerous nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church recited by Frank Cimino, Jr. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Father Daniel Balizan as the celebrant. MCAFEE -- Stella McAfee, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at her home Friday, June 29, 2007, amongst her family. She was born on November 4, 1932 in Albuquerque to Nicholas and Antonia Gallegos. She married George McAfee on July 25, 1952 in Albuquerque. Stella was a current member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a former member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, where she was active with the School Board, Parish Council, former PTA President, and was very active with St. Pius X High School. She also taught Bi-Lingual education at VanBuren Middle School for over seven years, as well as assisted her husband, George as his bookkeeper in his automotive radiator service, McAfee Radiator Service, for over 30 years. Stella enjoyed spending time at Highland Senior Center and working at election polls. She was a proud graduate from TOPS and was very active in her grandchildren's lives. Stella is survived by her husband of 55 years, George; daughter, Deborah E. King; son, George Nicholas McAfee, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael George King and Ryan Matthew King; sister, Jennie G. Downey and husband, Joe of Alamogordo, NM; brother, Isidor Gallegos of Albuquerque; uncle, Eddie Mayer of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lizzie Center and brother, Ray Gallegos. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 5, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 6, 2007, 10:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. MCKEEVER -- Dixie L. McKeever died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque. She was 89 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn McKeever, a local attorney. Mrs. McKeever grew up in Dubuque, IA, where she married and raised her own family. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert, in 1984 and her husband, Lewis in 2001. She relocated here to be near her daughter. She received her BA degree in music from Clarke College in Dubuque, IA in 1939 and enjoyed playing the piano throughout her life. Burial will be through Egelhof, Seigert & Casper Funeral Home in Dubuque, IA on Friday, July 6, 2007.

MIXON -- Earl Mixon (1928-2007) was born in Tucson, AZ and grew up in Fort Stockton, TX. His family moved to Roswell when he was in high school. He served in the U.S. Army Rangers in Korea, and after his discharge he met and wooed Elizabeth Underwood. They were married in December of 1953. In 1960, they moved to Albuquerque, where Earl worked as a sales representative for Kraft Foods for over 30 years. He loved the out-of-doors, and took the family on frequent hiking trips in the forests of New Mexico. He and Elizabeth also enjoyed ballooning, and participated in several Balloon Fiesta events. After retirement, Earl and Elizabeth bought property near Durango, and spent nearly two decades in a beautiful home near Lake Vallecito. The grandkids cherish memories of "paradise;" every year, Gramma and Granddad had them up for week-long "summer camps" in the Colorado mountains. But their Albuquerque ties remained strong. In July of 2003 they returned, and have lived here since. Earl was an avid reader, amateur photographer, and tennis player. At age 67, he discovered computers and made the jump from film to digital photography. He was always generous with his time and resources to family, friends, and church. For a time he volunteered for Meals on Wheels. A beloved husband, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was also a caring friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed good health for most of his life, and played tennis just three days before his death in the early hours of Saturday, June 30, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mixon; his sister, Iris Major; his children, Kay Mixon, Laura Mixon-Gould, and Jim Mixon; his grandchildren, Stephanie Maez, Benjamin Mixon-Baca, and Emma and Carita Gould; and his great-grandson, Donovan Maez. We miss him very much. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE.
