MCGUIRE -- RUTH E. Ruthie returned to heaven on April 16, 2007. She is survived by a son, Gene Pennington; daughter, Brenda Ostertag and husband, Daniel; daughter, Maryann Wersonick and husband, David Laurie; granddaughter, Jennifer Bernard; and two great-granddaughters, Stevie and Caitlin, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a co-founder for the Association for Education of Handicapped Children here in New Mexico and was a lady locksmith for 27 years at Duke City Lock and Key. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, confidant and loyal friend to many. She was an avid writer of poetry and songs that poured from her gentle heart. She always had a smile and a kind word. She wished to be remembered for her immeasurable sense of humor and generous heart that brought joy and smiles to so many more than she realized. We who were blessed to know her will cherish her memory in our hearts, and she will walk in our souls forever. Memorial Service and Mass is on April 27, 2007 5:30 p.m. at Queen Of Heaven. PADILLA -- D. Acacio Padilla, 60, a resident of Albuquerque, went home with Jesus on Saturday, April 21, 2007. He was born November 17, 1946 in Encino, NM, to Juan and Ernestina Padilla. Acacio married Emily Barreras on November 17, 2005. Mr. Padilla was a supervisor of construction for Remodel Inc. for the past 10 years. He was formally involved with New Mexico law enforcement for over 15 years and was involved with the New Mexico Youth Reintergration Center for five years. He enjoyed cooking, the mountains, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Emily Barreras-Padilla of the family home; children, Jacob Padilla and wife, Kathy, Frances Beck and husband, Richard, Yvonne Armijo and husband, Eddy and Rebecca Wilson and husband, Darin; daughter-in-law, Sandra Villanueva and husband, Steve; step-daughter, Yvette Brunacini and husband, George; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Priscilla Rimer, Patricia Henline and husband, Ned, Maxine McCollum and husband, Troy, Grace Trujillo and husband, JR, Beatrice Martinez and Arabella Gonzales and husband, Manuel; brothers, Danny Padilla and wife, Patsy, Cassy Padilla and wife, Jenice, Jerry Padilla and wife, Rachael and Chris Padilla and wife, Penny; twin brother, Tony Padilla and wife, Maria; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Fernando Padilla on December 11, 1989; and sister, Maggie Padilla. PARTIN -- Charles W. "Chuck" Partin, 55, of Albuquerque passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007. He was born March 2, 1952, in Albuquerque, to Tech Sgt. U.S.A.F. Graham H. and Waneta Partin. He was an auto mechanic for many years, in and around the Albuquerque area. In his spare time, he enjoyed drawing. He is survived by his mother, Waneta B. Partin-Weatherhead of Albuquerque; step-children, Micheal Walter of Utah, Bruce Crosby of Valencia County, Krista Crosby of Albuquerque; step-brother, Dan Weatherhead of Albuquerque; step-sister, Sandra Kirsch of CA; and several step grandchildren and nieces as well as cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbi Partin in 1972; his father, Graham H. Partin in 1959; and his step-father, Paul Weatherhead in 1989. Services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at Temple Baptist Church, 1613 Arizona Northeast. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. PEREA -- Mela G. Perea, age 80, passed away on April 22, 2007 at her residence in Santa Rosa, following an illness. Mela was born August 21, 1926 in San Angelo, TX to the home of Luis and Dilia Velasquez Gonzales. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Mela married Juan De Dios Perea on April 27, 1946, in Santa Rosa. She loved cooking, praying the rosary, and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, where she was active in the Sacred Heart Society, Las Hijas de Maria, and was also involved with the St. Josephs Guild when her children were attending St. Rose School. Mela was a loving and caring person who always took the time to sit and visit. She catered countless funeral meals for grieving families, cooked for weddings and parties, and worked for many years in the food booth at St. Rose Fiesta. Mela was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and will truly be missed by all her family and friends. Mela is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Juan De Dios Perea; children; Glibert A. Perea and Adelina Lopez; and her brother Richard Pacheco. Survivors include her children, Maria I. Perea, Dilia Ulibarri, Rosalie Perea and Johnny all of Santa Rosa, Jane Sanchez and husband Reyes of Las Vegas, NM, Gloria Gage and husband Ronnie of San Juan, TX, Lucy Flores and husband Ken, Barbara Sena and husband Early, Betty Joe Moncayo, John F. Perea and wife Veronica, Richard Perea and wife Julia all of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are her sister; Josie Roybal and husband Augustine of Santa Fe; sister in laws Suzie Pacheco of Santa Fe and Yolanda Aragon and husband Ernie of Tucumcari; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary Services will be held on Monday, April 23, at 3:00 p.m. from St. Rose Church led by the Sacred Heart Society. A second Rosary will be recited on Monday evening, at 7:00, also from St. Rose Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m., with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St.Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lawrence Sanchez, Francisco D. Flores, Kenneth J. Flores, Anthony Moncayo, Joseph Lopez, Ricardo Sena, Juan Perea and Ronnie Gage. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Augustine Rael, Ricky Pacheco, Guy Wayne Roybal, Mary Louise Pacheco, Michael Roybal and Angela Chavez. ROMERO -- Petrita Romero passed away April 20, 2007 in Albuquerque, surrounded by her family. She was born in Monticello, NM, on May 29, 1912, to Delfino and Virginia Montoya. Petrita was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who came in contact with her. She is survived by her children daughters, Gloria M. Chavez and her husband George, Jeanne Cuaron and her husband Gilbert of Albuquerque; son, Andy Romero and his wife Pauline of Corona, CA; sisters Martha Romero and Rosie Padilla; grandchildren, Jolene Smith, Marianne Anaya, Melody Nagel, Laura Wilson, Karla Silver, Deanna Smith, Darryl Romero, Andrea Romero, Eileen Romero, Charlie Cuaron, Crystal Kirschman; 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands Pat A. Romero and Leo Espinosa; her daughter, Gladys Pike; and her son, Spec. 5 Charles A. Romero, who was killed in VietNam, on September 5, 1969. RUCKER -- D. Maxine Rucker, 81, passed away on April 10, 2007 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin R. Rucker and her two sons, John and Stephen Rucker. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia and two grandsons, Joshua and Robert Janpol. Maxine was an avid bowler and was the Women's league secretary for a few years.
