MEYER -- Thomas O. "Tommy" Meyer, born September 8, 1919 in Wapakoneta, OH and a long time resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007. Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; son, Thomas Meyer and granddaughters, Katie and Martha of Middleton, WI; daughter, Anne Lindgren and husband, Kevin and grandsons, Kristopher and Justin of Albuquerque; son, Michael Meyer and wife, Denise, and granddaughter, Adrienne of Albuquerque; brother, William J. Meyer and wife, Sue; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" McDonald and husband, Lavon; sisters-in- law, Catherine Rowe and Denise Meyer; and by numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Don Meyer; and sisters, Mary Ellen Strosnider and Catherine Yoder. He was an employee of Sandia National Laboratories for 32 yeas and a graduate of The University of New Mexico Department of Civil Engineering. Tom was a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Phi, Alpha XI Chapter. He served our country during WWII, both in the Army Air Corps and in the United States Navy Seabees. Tom was a mentor to many and loved by us all. His priorities were to be of service to God, Country, Family and Friends. A Rosary will be recited at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of New Mexico Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund, UNM, Albuquerque, NM 87131 or to Presbyterian Health Care Foundation, P. RICHARDSON -- Mildred N. Richardson, age 87, went home to be with the Lord, on December 31, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on May 4, 1919 to Joseph and Vesta Noble in Atlanta, GA. Mildred at heart was as a homemaker, but she did enjoy working outside of the home. She was a secretary for Swift & Co. in Waycross, GA. Mildred married Russell Richardson in 1943 in Waycross, GA and traveled to Japan in 1945 and Germany in 1959 for the military. After Russell retired from the United States Air Force in 1963, the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she worked as a librarian for the Zimmerman Library at UNM. In recent years she was the Chairman of the Board for the Santa Fe County Association for Family Community Education Extension of New Mexico State University. Mildred was very active in the First Baptist Church of Edgewood, NM and kept busy doing all sorts of arts and crafts. Mildred is survived by her two children: one son, Robert Scott Richardson and wife, Joan of Bear, DE, and one daughter, Virginia Kulpit and husband, Michael of Poulsbo, WA; one son-in-law, Thomas N. Thompson of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; one sister, Mary Ellen Hattaway and husband, Dewitt of Waycross, GA. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Scott Richardson in 2002 and one daughter, Margaret Ann Thompson in 2006. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, January 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., First Baptist Church of Edgewood, NM with Pastor Brian Piatt, officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday, January 11, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel. Interment will be on Friday, January 12, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. TORRES -- Josephine Torres, 76, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday January 6, 2007. She is survived by her children, Sam Torres and wife, Alice, Angela Vargas and husband, Bob, Jack Torres, Mike Torres, Frank Torres and wife, Denise, Vickie Mora, Leroy Torres and wife, Loretta, David Torres, and Gabriel Torres and wife, Dawn; 24 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; one brother; and seven sisters; and a large, extended family. Mrs. Torres was preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin Torres; her son, Richard Torres; her grandson, Gabriel Torres; and two brothers, Julian Garcia and Mike Garcia; and one sister, Mary Gurule. Josephine was a long time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 817 Arno SE. WILLIAMS -- Ricky Dale Williams, 45, a resident of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque since 1965, passed away on January 7, 2007. Ricky was born April 5, 1961, the son of Elgin Charles and Irene Wells Williams Jr. in Camp LeJeune, NC. He had worked as a contractor in residential construction before his death. Ricky was a volunteer for over 20 years with YAFL football where he served in several different capacities. Ricky is survived by his father, E. C. Williams of Houston, TX; mother, Irene Williams of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Connie Shingleton and husband Rob of Rio Rancho, NM; brother, Gary Williams; and sister, Cindy Smith and husband, J.P., both of Aztec, NM; nieces and nephews, David Ortiz and wife, Fabiola of Alexandria, VA, Jim Williams of Reno, NV, and Kyra Dinwiddie of Durango, CO; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends. The family extends their sincerest thanks to the members of the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety for all their support. BRASS -- Edward E. (Tyker) Brass, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007. He was born in Lawrence, KS on September 8, 1928, the son of Edward B. and Martha Beaunice Brass. He served as a Captain in the USAF and was a decorated veteran flying transport planes in Korea during the Korean War. He graduated from Kansas University where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He completed a 32 year career at Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1989. During retirement, Ed was a docent at the Rio Grande Zoo, a member of the Coronado Wolfpack, a judge during elections and enjoyed traveling with his wife, and fun and games with family and friends. Ed was a faithful and devoted husband and father who loved his God, his family, and his country. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris J. Brass; son, Eric Brass of Omaha, NE; daughter, Anne E. Silva and husband, Aaron of Belen; and grandchildren, Alejandro and Aundrea Silva. Cremation has taken place and friends are invited to join the family in celebration of his life at a Memorial Service on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. BRISCOE -- George Briscoe, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM has gone home to our Lord at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Briscoe; one son, Jerry Briscoe; and two daughters, Cathy Briscoe and Connie Briscoe. George is survived by his daughters, Yvette Briscoe-Thomas and Danny of New Orleans, LA, Georgianna Gallegos and husband Tibo of Los Lunas, NM; sons, George Briscoe Jr. of Moriarty, NM, Mike Briscoe and wife, Kerry of Washington; two brothers, Paul Briscoe and wife, Georgia, Tom Briscoe and his wife, of Florida; two sisters, Jewel Clark of Virginia and Melba Spell of Flora, IL; grandchildren, Carmelita Gutierrez of the family home, Timothy, Leslie, Carl, Tiffany of Louisiana and Travis Briscoe, Codie Stolt, Marie Zamora, Matthew Martinez, Jill, Ellen, Nichole, Cameron, and Megan Rae Briscoe of Washington; as well as many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews who loved and will miss him. CHAVEZ -- Albino Ricardo Chavez, age 77, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, and formerly of Belen, NM, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 6, 2007. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Albino was a radio announcer for KARS Radio in Belen for several years. He moved to Albuquerque in the early 1960s and went to work for Mountain Bell - U. S. West, then ending his career with Qwest in 2000 as a phone operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo B. Chavez and Crucita Barreras Chavez; two sisters, Susan Peralta and Dolores C. Garcia; and one brother, Matias Chavez. Albino is survived by one loving niece, Marcella Maldonado and her husband, Adolfo; four great-nieces, Twila Maldonado and her fiance, Johnny Chavez, Melissa Garcia and her fiance, Teddy Sanchez, Mary Ann Maldonado and her fiance, Anthony Gonzales, and Kristen Garcia; and two nephews, Ronald Chavez and his wife, Theresa, and Bennie Chavez. He is also survived by seven great-great loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. CHAVEZ -- Nolbert "Ben" Chavez, 70, a resident of Belen, died Monday, January 8, 2007. He is survived by his brother, Rudy L. Chavez and wife, JoAnne of Belen; sister, Florie Chavez and husband, David; sister-in-law, Frances Chavez of Belen; brothers-in-law, Cayetano Padilla of Belen and Sal Artiaga of Florida; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ramon and Josefita P. Chavez; brothers, Robert Silverio and Bennie Chavez; sisters, Susan Artiaga and Mary Padilla; sister-in-law, Lorraine Chavez; and great-niece, Francine Renee Sanchez. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and has been attending Mass daily for 49 years. Mr. Chavez would spend most of his day praying daily devotional, novenas and rosary. His favorite pastime was drawing, and he had a love for watches.
