SANCHEZ -- Ologia "Logie" Sanchez, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Sanchez; daughter, Diana; son, Juan Guadalupe Jr.; daughter, Mary Jane; grandchildren, Martin and Rosalea; sisters, Tillie, Margaret, and Elsie; parents, Augustine and Lucarita Sarracino. She is survived by son, Harry M. Sanchez, daughter-in-law, Patsy Sanchez; grandchildren, Logie, Maria, Crissy and husband, Richard, Cipriano Jr., Vanessa, Juan "Wally" and wife, Victoria, Fernando, Augustine "Augie" and wife, Dawn, Matthew and partner, Ramon, Paul, Bernardo, Mario and wife, Monica, and 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Emelda and Jenny; and brother, Eli and wife, Rose; dog, Bubbles; along with countless nieces and nephews. Ologia was a devout and lifelong Catholic who put her uttermost trust and well being in God's hands. She had a personal relationship with the Lord that she was not ashamed to share with anyone. Throughout her life, she faced hardships that could have easily broken the soul of many people, but she remained a person who could see the beauty in life. She attributed her strength not to herself, but to the faith that was instilled in her by her mother. Ologia was a native New Mexican from Atrisco, something that she and her family were very proud of. Ologia was a person who seemed to not age, as people often told her, but instead remained very young at heart. Those who had the opportunity to meet her will not forget her laughter and sense of humor, because her laugh was contagious and her outlook on life always gave a sense of encouragement. Those who knew her will remember numerous invitations to the Bingo, if not that, "How about the Casino?" She was a recent and proud member of the "Sunbeams" choir. Her time spent with friends and family was something that she was proud of and enjoyed. You couldn't leave her home without receiving a complement. Being hospitable wasn't something she worked at but seemed to come as second nature. She was looking forward to her yearly holiday celebration of praying, singing, dancing the Comanche dances, and eating with family on Christmas Eve. Ologia, Mom, Grandma, "Gram", Sister, Auntie, and Friend will be forever missed. As we continue on with our lives we will carry her strength, love, faith, and joy for life with us always. Rosary will be recited Friday, December 14, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 15, 2007, 8:30 a.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.
