ALEXANDER -- Mary Ann Alexander, 88, died peacefully in her home September 10, 2007. She was born Mary Ann Landis, November 28, 1918 in Springfield, MA. She spent her early life in Baltimore, MD and Boston, MA. She graduated from Penn State in 1940 where she was a member of Delta Gamma and Pi Gamma Alpha. During World War Two, she served overseas with the American Red Cross in Africa, Sicily, Corsica and Italy. It was there she met her late husband Martin Alexander who was a flight surgeon for the 52nd fighter group. They were married on the Isle of Capri in 1944. She lived in Denver for many years and became an Albuquerque resident in 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Lannie; her son, John; and son-in-law, Steve Wirtz. A private family ceremony was held. BARNHILL -- James Ray Barnhill. Jim died of a brain tumor on Monday, September 10, 2007 in his home with his family. He was born to J.C. and Eleanor Ray Barnhill on December 27, 1931 in Stringtown, Oklahoma. He graduated from Atoka High School where he played basketball. He had a continuing interest in athletics for the rest of his life. After one year at East Central Oklahoma State College, his Oklahoma National Guard Unit was called to serve the country in Korea. He proudly served in the US Army 45th Division from 1950 to 1952 and continued his close friendships with fellow MP Thunderbirds through the reunions held over the last 50 years. Upon his return, he attended the University of New Mexico where in 1956 he received his Bachelors Degree in Education and History. He taught, coached and officiated in the Albuquerque Public Schools at Sombra del Monte and Jackson Jr. High until in 1960 he joined his father J.C. in the new business of Barnhill Bolt. Over the years he became a fastener specialist, respected in the fastener industry, serving as a director in the Western Association of Fastener Distributors and was inducted into the International Fastener Hall of Fame in Columbus, Ohio in 1997. In 1953 he married Bobby Gwyn Taylor. They enjoyed 54 years together. He was a devoted family man, brother, friend and associate. He was a generous and kind hearted man with a very dry sense of humor. He took delight in traveling and in his hobby of tin punching clocks and night lights. Jim was much loved and appreciated and will be oh so very missed by family and friends. He will be gone from our sight but alive in our hearts and minds. Jim is survived by his wife and all of his children, including Jamie Gwyn Barnhill and Korkie Kerkin, John Robert and Shannon Barnhill and their children, Jacob and Emma Grace, Lynn Ann and Joe Wilkinson and their children, Margaret Taylor and Ava Eleanor, and Ross Ray and Connie Barnhill and their children Ryan Barnhill and Rhonda and Craig McGurn and their children, and his great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Michael and Matthew. Jim is also survived by his sister, Mary Silver and her husband Richard - travel partners on their many RV trips and cruises. Also surviving are niece Jo Ella Silver, nephew Dee Silver and wife Stephanie with their children, Jacquelyn, Clint, Sammy and Lucas and nephew James Perry Silver and wife Karla with their children, Jessie, Kala and JC. Jim was preceded in death by his parents J.C. and Eleanor. Jim was lucky and happy to have traveled to all 50 states and internationally to Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, the Panama Canal, the Mediterranean, the Baltic countries, England and France. Jim was a Christian who was saved at the age of 12 and was a long time member of Highland Baptist Church. We owe a debt of gratitude for the kind care given to Jim during his illness. We appreciate Dr. Liebmann and the staff of the New Mexico Cancer Center. Special thanks to Melissa Hosey, his personal care giver, Phyllis Taylor, his nurse, Virginia and all the other folks from Heritage Hospice. BOUGHTER -- Samuel E. Boughter, 60, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 9, 2007. Mr. Boughter was born on May 18, 1947 to William Charles and Erlinda (Ortiz) Boughter of Albuquerque. Mr. Boughter was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and had a long career in residential and commerical construction. Sam was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He always gave more than he had to give, in order to help those in his life. He touched every person that crossed his life's path in a very special way. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his contagious laugh. BURKE -- Bobby Dean Burke, 83, beloved, husband, father, and grandfather, and lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on September 13, 2007. Mr. Burke was born on January 29, 1924 to Marriot and Helen (Roe) Burke of Albuquerque, NM. He served our country in the US Army and earned a Silver Star during World War II. Mr. Burke owned and operated Burke's Plumbing and Heating Company. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, camping, and gardening. FERNANDEZ -- Mr. Raul S. Fernandez, 61, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2007. Mr. Fernandez is survived by his wife, Theresa nee Lopez; two daughters, Bettina Fernandez and husband, Peter, Erica Borrego and husband, Ron, all of California; two sons, Michael A. Sedillo, Matthew L. Sedillo and wife, Patricia, all of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren, Robert, Michael T., Antonio, Sheri, Matthew J., Niko, William, Nicolas, Olivia, and Cianna; four great-grandchildren, Reyna, Arriana, Malachi, and Jaryn; two brothers, John Raymond and wife, Marrie, Mike and wife, Teresa of California; seven sisters, Dolores Lyons and husband, Rolf of California, Helen Lopez and husband, Rey, Rebecca Rubio, Margaret Benavidez, Maria Morris, Mercedes Fernandez-Wells and husband, Lewis, and Alice Garcia and husband, Danny. GARCIA -- JUANITA Mrs. Juanita Garcia, 98, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 13, 2007, peacefully at home with her loving family by her side and is now in Heaven with our Lord. Mrs. Garcia is the beloved mother to Joe Garcia Jr., Helen Hernandez, Paul Garcia and wife, Carmen, Frances Marquez and husband, Joe, Albert (Max) Garcia and wife, Gayle Mc Carter-Garcia, Priscilla Archuleta and husband, Arthur. Mrs. Garcia is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a special friend and neighbor, Josie Rodriguez and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Garcia. Mrs. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. GARCIA -- Julia Baca Garcia, age 81, of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Julia enjoyed being outside working in her garden. She played the piano and loved dancing. Julia was a gracious hostess, always welcoming to everyone. Family was very important to her. She adored her grandchildren. HOLLER -- Mary Holler, born April 10, 1923, passed away on September 12, 2007. KING -- FRANK LYNN JR. 1st Lt. USAF (Ret.) Frank Lynn King, Jr. passed away at the age of 83 on Monday, September 3, 2007 following a long battle with pulmonary disease. He is remembered with love and pride by his devoted family and many friends. Born in Chicago on November 8, 1923, Frank was raised in El Dorado, AR with his older brother Garrett, and his younger sister Ethel. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and was trained as a B-17 bomber pilot. Serving as Lieutenant and commander of a ten-man crew with the 96th Bomb Group, he was shot down on a bombing mission near Bremen, Germany on May 6, 1944. After ordering his crew to bail out, Lt. King brought his stricken plane in for a crash landing in order to save a wounded crewman who was unable to jump. He saved the crewman, but lost his leg as a result of the crash. Lt. King was a prisoner of war until he was repatriated by the International Red Cross in late 1944. Lt. King was awarded the USAF Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism in aerial battle, the USAF Air Medal for meritorious achievement in aerial battle, the Purple Heart for injuries received in battle and several other medals and awards for his valor and achievements while serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. While in the hospital, Frank met Ann Craig MacGuffie of Passaic, NJ. They were married on July 6, 1946 in Passaic. Frank and Ann soon moved to Albuquerque, where he studied engineering at the University of New Mexico, receiving his degree in 1950. Three of their four sons were born in Albuquerque between 1947 and 1951. The King family briefly moved to the San Diego area in 1952, where their fourth son was born. They returned to Albuquerque for good that same year. Frank and Ann raised all four sons to adulthood in the house which remains the King residence in the S. E. Heights. Their oldest son, Major Frank L. King, III, was tragically killed in 1985 while training soldiers in desert warfare at Ft. Irwin, CA. Frank King's engineering career included tenures at Sandia Laboratories, Machine Engineering, Inc, American Car and Foundry, the Frank L. King Company, and numerous consulting positions around the nation. Frank was employed by the City of Grants, NM in March of 1978 as the first City Engineer in Grants history. He was later hired as the City Manager and performed both the jobs of Manager and Engineer until his retirement in 1989. He remained in retirement until his passing. Frank L. King, Jr. is survived by Ann, his faithful and devoted wife of 61 years, and their sons, Robert MacGuffie King and wife Judy of Hurst, TX, Dr. James Craig King and wife, Susan of Fredericksburg, TX, Charles Cameron King, of Fredericksburg, TX, and daughter-in-law Sandy King of Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sister, Ethel Womack of Little Rock, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agda King; in-laws, Dr. Robert N. and Jessie MacGuffie; brother, Garrett King; son, Maj. Frank Lynn King III; and grandson, Nichol MacGuffie King. Frank L. King, Jr.'s cremated remains will be buried with military honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE. LUCERO -- TONY O. LUCERO MARCH 5, 1928 - SEPTEMBER 9, 2007 Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2007 Tony O. Lucero was reunited in heaven with his mother and father, Margarita (Varela) and Evaristo; his infant son, Michael; and five of his eight brothers and sisters. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. They include Josephine, his beloved wife of 58 years; his son, Tony, Jr. and wife, Deedra; his daughter, Patricia and fiance, Robert Roybal; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Brian Wiggins, Carlos Trujillo, Tre Lucero, Travis and wife, Jessica Lucero; great-grandchildren, Angelica, Sage, David, and Alexyss, Alaina and Vanessa, Lily, and Ashlynne. He was a father figure to, and was adored by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as though they were his own children. His best friends were his many brothers- and sisters-in-law. Tony was born and raised in Pecos, NM where he fell in love with Josephine from neighboring Rowe. He was 16 and she was 14, and she remembers fondly how he chased her down the halls at school. He retired as terminal manager in Albuquerque for Greyhound Bus Lines after 38 years of service having started as a baggage handler. His family was his whole life and he loved nothing better than being with them. He loved fishing in the Pecos River and playing Norteno and Ranchera music on his guitar, especially with his younger brother Johnny. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. If you wish to memorialize him in some way, perhaps you could teach a child to fish. and remember as he always said to us in departing, "don't take any wooden nickels".

MARQUEZ -- Juanita (Jennie) B. Marquez passed to be with the Lord on September 9, 2007, in San Diego, CA. She was born in Los Chavez, New Mexico on November 6, 1926, to Felipe and Isabelita Baca. Her husband, Jose R. Marquez, preceded her in death in 1974. She is the beloved mother of six children: Lupie Martinez, San Diego, CA; Phillip Marquez (Diana), Albuquerque; Isabel Conn (Raymond), Trinidad, CO; Precilla Otero (Charlie), Albuquerque; Daniel Marquez (Virginia), San Marcos, CA; and Josephine Salguero-Gonzales, Albuquerque. She was the cherished grandmother of twelve, and wonderful great-grandmother of ten children. Her love, spirit, vitality and energy will be lovingly remembered. MILTON -- A. Zonelle "Zoe" Milton, 76, a resident of Amarillo, TX for the last 15 years, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 after a short illness. RAIZEN -- MERRILL LAWRENCE Larry Raizen, 59, beloved husband to Joyce Raizen, father to Josh Smith and Samuel Raizen, passed away August 27, 2007 in Redondo Beach, CA. Born February 20, 1948 in Denver, CO. Larry served in the Vietnam War. He attended Colorado School of Mines. He most recently worked in the medical field. He was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque from the mid '80s thru the '90s. He was CIO at Centinela Freeman Hospital. He loved quality time with his family, golf and the Jemez Mountains. Larry will be greatly missed by the Martinez, Herrera and Chavez families, friends and co-workers. SENA -- Anastacio Sena, 80, of Fort Sumner, NM, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Mr. Sena was born June 28, 1927 at Alamogordo, NM in northern De Baca County to the home of Alfredo and Crusita (Aragon) Sena. Anastacio married Antonia Saiz on November 27, 1946 in Fort Sumner. He worked as a heavy equipment operator including many years with K Barnett Construction Company. Mr. Sena was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. He enjoyed gardening, and helping his sons care for their livestock. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Mario Sena in 1948; his parents; a granddaughter, Cindy Sena in 2001; two sisters, Theresa Gauna and Nora Murphy; and a brother, Alfredo Sena. Anastacio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Antonia Sena of the home in Fort Sumner; six sons, George (Martha) Sena of Fort Sumner; Rev. Father Sotero A. Sena; Jerry Sena both of Clovis, NM; Anastacio (Theresa) Sena Jr. of Fort Sumner; David (Mary) Sena of Albuquerque; and Carlos Sena of Fort Sumner; two daughters, Marcy (Joe) Garcia of Clovis, NM; and Barbara (Gary) Pacheco of Alamogordo, NM. Also surviving are two brothers, Leonedes Sena of Clovis, NM and Gene Sena of Lake Sumner, NM; three sisters, Andrea Caballero of Clovis, Virginia Meeks of Portales and Esperanza Barela of Fort Sumner; along with 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends. Rosary Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2007 with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Sena, Daniel Sena, Carlos Sena, Jeremy Sena, Nathan Pacheco, David Sena, Mario Sena, Michael Marez, Jacob Marez, Michael Villa, and Joshua Sena. Honorary bearers will be all his grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. STAFFORD -- Robert "Bob" Charles Stafford, age 65 of Albuquerque, Closed his eyes here on earth and opened them in Heaven Friday September 14, 2007. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past five years and during that time he inspired many. He was born on October 26, 1941 in Cle Elum, WA. to William and Vivian Stafford. He married Betty Jo Koury on February 15, 1963 in Albuquerque, NM. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, great-great-uncle and honored friend. Mr. Stafford was the current co-owner and operator of Sadie's of New Mexico for the past 22 years. As an active mason and shriner, his memberships were the Temple Lodge No. 6, AF&AM and served as Worshipful Master in 1988. The Scottish Rite Bodies in Santa Fe, York Rite Bodies in Albuquerque and the Ballut Abyad Shrine where he participated in the Patrol. He also was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters having served as Director in 1990 and 2004. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Jo; sons, William "Billy" R. Stafford and his fiancee, Amanda Rhodus and their daughter, Theron Elizabeth Stafford, Brian C. Stafford and his wife, Veronica (Baca) Stafford and their sons, Nicolas C. and Isaac J. Stafford; his in-laws; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many devoted employees and his lifelong business manager of 35 years, Toni Minoli who was like a daughter to him. TAFOYA -- CORNELIO PABLO Mr. Cornelio Pablo Tafoya, 79, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 13, 2007, and is now in Heaven with our Lord. Mr. Tafoya is the beloved father to Cordy Sue Tafoya, Belinda Tafoya-Porras and husband, Peter, Cornelio (Cordy) Tafoya Jr., Brenda Tafoya and partner, Ernesto Medina, and Eva D. Tafoya. Mr. Tafoya is also survived by one sister, Lena Salazar; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Tafoya was preceded in death by a son, Mario A. Tafoya; two sisters, Antonia Tafoya and Estella Abeyta; a brother, Joe Tafoya; and his parents, Jesus and Candelaria Tafoya. Mr. Tafoya was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in World War II. TILLERY -- Raymond Tillery, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Eunice; son, Keith and wife, Donna of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Brian and wife, Lisa of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Rachel, Garrett and Sean; sister, Natalie and husband, Harold; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Mr. Tillery was preceded in death by his father, Nat and mother, Mabel; sister, Jodi and brother, Jerry. He graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma and was an avid supporter of their athletic teams. He was active in the Boy Scouts when his sons were young and also served as President of the AAAA Balloon Club. Other than family and friends, his passion was riding his motorcycle which he continued to do until just weeks before his death. Cremation has taken place. His life will be celebrated with a Service Saturday, September 15, 2007, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. VIEIRA -- Walter Lawrence Vieira, passed away September 13, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Vieira and sister, Mary Vieira. He was born August 11, 1943 in Santa Fe, NM to Tony Vieira and Frances Quintana. He married Linda on February 15, 1969. Walter was a member of Eagles, Elks, Navy Veteran, Santa Maria de la Paz Roman Catholic Church Parishioner. He is survived by his wife, Linda Vieira; and their children, Chris Vieira and Iggi, Leslie and husband, Michael Montano, Walty and wife, Laura Vieira, Angela and husband, Leon Dix; grandchildren: CJ, Charlyn, Andrew, Mathew, Valerie, Thomas, Emily, and Joey. Also, survived by his mother, Frances Vieira; and siblings, Morris, Elyse, Larry and his wife, Sandra and their children, Mark and his wife, Janice and their children. WEBER -- Nathaniel Pitman Weber, "Nate" was born on February 27, 1984, died September 11, 2007, at his residence in Albuquerque, NM of a massive heart attack. Nate was a senior at the University of New Mexico, where he was so proud to study. Nate played football for the "Lobos." Nathaniel's life was not without suffering and difficulties; however, he never complained or asked for a different set of circumstances. We were privileged to see him grow from a promising start, to a man of strength and honor. We will always respect the man he became. Nate was planning to continue his studies at the University of New Mexico Law School. Nate was an artisan who loved hard work. Creating was his passion; he loved seeing a project come to life. Nate was a friend to everyone he met and will be missed by everyone who ever knew him. Nate is survived in death by his fiancee, Jill Grech; mother, Heather Weber; and father, Bill Weber of Albuquerque; his brothers, Ted Weber of Los Angeles, Robert Weber of June Lake, and Justin Weber of Long Beach. WRIGHT -- George Wright, Master Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy, Ret., passed away September 8, 2007 in Bernalillo after a long illness. George retired from the Navy December 1967 having served in Korea and during Vietnam. In 1968 he moved to Santa Fe, where he lived and worked until August 2004. He attended the University of Maryland and the College of Santa Fe. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; daughter, Melissa of Roswell, NM; grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, Ryan, Corey, Camilla and Adam, and his brother, Donald Wright of Norfolk, VA.
