ANDLER-LATINO -- Josephine "Josie" Marie Andler Latino, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away March 9, 2007, following a brave and fearless battle with cancer. Although her spirit was strong, her body grew weak and she passed peacefully with her loving family by her side. She was born November 10, 1965 in Albuquerque and was a 1983 graduate of Rio Grande High School. Josie graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith J. Latino; mother, Mary Lou Marquez-Andler; her brothers, George Andler and his wife Annamarie; Gerome Andler and his wife Cathy; and sister Veronica Andler-Lopez and her husband Johnny. She was a wonderful and loving Auntie to nephews, Dominic, Jovan, Aaron, Isaiah, Matthew, Gavin, and Christian; and nieces, Dominique, Ashley and Brooke. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins, as well as many dear friends. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 13, at 7:00 p.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 14, at 9:00 a.m., also at St. Jude. CASTRO -- Joseph Pete Castro, Sr. was born on August 16, 1940 in Yoder, WY, the son of Henry and Delores Castro. He died Friday, March 9, 2007, in Albuquerque, at the age of 66. Pete was honored to have served his country in the United States Army. He also spent 30 years employed by Sprint. He is survived by his loving wife, Emalda; two sons, Joseph Jr., and Kenneth; two sisters, Eleanor and Mary; and three brothers, Henry, Dolpho, and Elindo. Rosary will be recited on Monday, March 12, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Rosen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. DERESIN -- Iwan (John) Deresin Age 96. Passed away March 8, 2007. Born September 15, 1910 in Russia. Immigrated to the USA in 1950 from Austria with his wife, Oxana. Oxana; and grandson, Christopher Smietanski preceeded him in death. He made many friends over the years from work, his love of Lobo basketball, and senior citizens program. Survivors include sons Nick and Patrick; daughter Nadine and husband Mike Patterson; grandchildren Paul Patterson, Eleni and Kayla Deresin; great-grandchildren Christyne, Stephen, and Branden Smietanski. He will be truly missed by all. Viewing on Monday, March 12, 2007 at Strong Thorne 5-8 p.m. Funeral at St. George Greek Orthodox church on High Street. 11:00 a.m., Tuesday March 13, 2007.

DUSENBERRY -- Robert F. Dusenberry, a resident of Corrales since 1987, passed away on March 9, 2007. He was the son of the late D. Russell and Anna Dusenberry. He was born in Ridgewood, NJ, in 1922. He was a 1948 graduate of Lafayette College, Easton, PA, and he also attended Ursinus College and the Virginia Military Institute while serving in the Army. He was proceeded in death by his parents; by his daughter Lois Dusenberry; by his sister Alice Lovell, her husband Robert Lovell; and by brother-in-law William Franks. His survivors include his wife Nancy; son Kenneth Dusenberry and wife Marilyn; son Donald Dusenberry and wife Alice; son Russell Dusenberry and wife Lisa; Sister Dorothy Franks; his first wife Eleanor Poole; three grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Following service in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in the Philippines during WW II he spent 37 years as a Member of Technical Staff at A T & T Bell Laboratories in New York and New Jersey until his retirement in 1985. He was a regular correspondent and cartoonist for his New Jersey neighborhood newsletter. He was a member of the Artillery Company of New Mexico and he enjoyed bowling with the senior leagues at Ten Pins and More in Rio Rancho. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is pending. MCELYEA -- Pearl L. Parrett-Duncan-McElyea, born December 24, 1929, went home to be with the Lord March 8, 2007. She was retired from civil service as a procurement officer. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M.Duncan II, and then Billy McElyea; also daughter, Randy L. Duncan-Poole. She is survived by many brothers and sisters, her children Rondalyn Jethro, Marc Duncan, Buck Duncan and his wife, Tami, Tammy Starr Duncan, and Gabriella Duncan; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. PATTERSON -- Richard A. "Pat" Patterson. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Richard A."Pat" Patterson, age 76, of Roswell, who passed away March 10, 2007, at his residence. Rev. Dare Stevens of First United Methodist Church will officiate, interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. Pat was born September 30, 1930 in Ponca City, OK, to Eldridge and Helen Patterson. He is preceded in death by both parents. Pat married Doodye Wilkey on February 18, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Stephen Patterson and his wife Cheryl of Roswell; a daughter, Cindy Torrez and her husband Marty of Roswell; a brother, Daniel E. Patterson of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Priscilla Fullerton and her husband Andy, Sara Torrez, Wayne Gluff, and Curtis Gluff. Pat served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. after 35 years of service and moved to Roswell, NM to be with his family. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. SACHS -- Benedicto (Ben) Sachs, passed to Eternity, Thursday, March 8, 2007. He was born in Belen, NM on February 5, 1915 to Rebecca and Benedicto Sachs. Ben was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings; and godson, Florencio Bachicha. Ben is survived by his wife of 65 years, Erminda Sachs of the family home; his daughter, Lucinda Sachs and husband Lewis Real; two grandchildren, Michael Real and Hilary Real; five godchildren; and other family members and friends. Ben will be surely missed by his family and by the many whose hearts he touched. Ben served his country during World War II in the United States Coast Guard, aboard the USS Joseph T. Dickman a U.S. Navy Transport. Ben was the last surviving grandson of Moses Sachs who arrived in Santa Fe, NM from Bavaria, Germany in 1849. Visitations will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where a rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Sachs will lie in state Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. WHITLOW -- Gary Whitlow, 59, a resident of Rio Rancho and former resident of Jones Creek, TX, went to meet his Savior Friday, March 9, 2007. He precedes to heaven his wife of 38 years, Beryl Whitlow; daughter, Shana Lee Obermiller and husband, Scott of Amarillo, TX and son, Reagan K. Whitlow and wife, Deeanne; grandsons, Kale and Koby Whitlow, all of Cabot, AR; mother, Lorraine Whitlow of Brazoria, TX; sister, Marsha Hamilton and husband, David of Brazoria, TX; aunt, Cherrill Whitlow of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Sam Blair and wife, Barbara of Los Lunas; and many nieces and nephews and adored extended family. Gary was a very active member of First United Methodist Church, serving as chairman of the First Cornerstone, Inc., Endowment Funds; an active participant of Alpha Christian Outreach; and working with the Home Repair Team. Mr. Whitlow was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas working with the Dow Chemical Company as a Senior Associate Mechanical Engineering Consultant. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Brazoria County Youth Homes for Disadvantaged Children. Gary loved supporting his children's activities, including both Scouting and soccer. He had a heart for evangelism; fishing in the Jemez; and riding his Harley. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW.
