BORDELON -- Allene Gryniewicz Beekman, 58 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Life Care Center of Evergreen, CO, on February 3, 2006. Born in Albuquerque, NM, a graduate of St. Pius High School, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Margaret Bordelon. She was a professional airline hostess for the Continental Airline. She is survived by her son, J.E. Gryniewichz of Littleton, CO; her sisters, Shirley Forbes and husband, Louis, of Albuquerque, NM, Barbara Corson of Houston, TX, Cynthia O'Meara and husband, John of Louisville, CO, De Horstman of Mesa, AZ, Suzanne Bilby and husband Richard of Scottsdale, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Littleton, CO and interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, CO. Memorial contributions can be sent to Chase Bank of Littleton, 5734 S. Prince St., Littleton, CO 80102 under the name of J. Gryniewicz. The funds will honor Allene with a tree planted in the Memorial Park in Littleton, and a contribution, in her name, to the Children's Library in Littleton, CO.

COONEY -- Audrey Ann Cooney, a long resident of Cedar Crest, NM, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Cooney ("Bob"); her son, Terence and his wife, Bonnie and their six children; and her daughter, Helen and her five children. Audrey was a passionate Christian who served her Savior, her community, her family and her friends until the very last moments of her almost 76 years of life. She was a devoted wife and mother, a teacher, pianist, a prayer warrior and a post abortion counselor. Audrey was very involved with evangelistic undertakings in Italy and Africa. Service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Bud Goodwin, officiating. DAVIDSON -- Kathryn Davidson, age 90, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in Amarillo, TX. She was born on October 27, 1915 in the Thomas Community, near Clayton, NM, to Arthur L. England and Maude C. (Smith) England. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1933 and married Hurshell I. Davidson on December 13, 1933 in Boise City, OK, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1992. She worked for the gas company in Clayton for 38 years before she retired. Kathryn was very active until her last years, she enjoyed walking and competed in the Duke City Marathon at the age of 77 in 1992 in the 5k walk, and finished 3rd in her age group. Kathryn lived in Clayton all her life until she moved to Amarillo to be closer to her daughter 4 1/2 years ago. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Clayton. In addition to her husband and parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by two sisters, Ila Mae Browning and Maurine Adams. Kathryn is survived by one daughter, Kitty Pagett of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Dan Davidson and his wife, Phyliss of Austin, TX and Artie Davidson and his wife, Judy of Albuquerque; a very close family friend, Nancy Schnell of Amarillo, TX; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and three on the way; two sisters-in-law, Mary Coulson of Oklahoma City and Velma Lois Davidson of Loma Linda, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, NM, with Rev. Kevin Phillips, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery. DELGADO -- Maggie Delgado died Thursday, February 23, 2006 in Albuquerque at the age of 90. Mrs. Delgado was preceded in death by her husband, Ezequiel Delgado and brother, Sanitago Muniz. She is survived by her sons, Mike Delgado and wife, Ramie, and Simon Delgado and wife, Martha; daughters, Ida Delgado, Mildred Garcia and husband, Ruben, Loretta Padilla, Nancy Olguin and husband, Filemon, Barbara Romero and husband, Donald, and Deannie Cruz; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. ELY -- Kathryn "Katy" Lou McIntosh Ely, 82, was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1923 and passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006. She is survived by six children, David Ely, Todd Ely and wife, Terry, Melissa Ely Martinez and husband, Louis, all of Albuquerque, Erin Ely and Doug Bielefeldt of Eugene OR, Therese Ely-Schmitter and husband, Dan of Seattle, WA, and Laura Ely of San Diego, CA; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Burns Geddes McIntosh Jr. and wife, Jeanne of Albuquerque. She was born and raised in Albuquerque and lived in the Country Club area and was a supporter of Downtown. Katy attended Miss Willy's Happy School, Washington Jr. High School, Sandia School for girls, Ward Belmont School for Young Ladies in Nashville, TN and graduated from Albuquerque High School. She went on with her education at the University of New Mexico and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts in 1945. At UNM she was very active in the Rodey Theatre activities and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. During her younger years she was a tap and toe dancer with Mrs. Knight's Dancing School. Before her illness, Katy was especially fond of spending her summers in her condo in Cannon Beach, OR, where she had many friends. Being interested in politics, Katy was active with the Republican Party, she was involved with David Cargo's Gubenatorial campaign. She ran for office for the APS Board and State House of Representatives. Katy was very active in the Arts Community and served on the New Mexico Arts Commission for many years having been appointed first by Gov. David Cargo, then re-appointed by Gov. Bruce King. She was active in the Junior League of Albuquerque for many years and loved to play bridge with her friends. Katy enjoyed traveling and never missed a party, she loved socializing with her friends and family. She had many friends and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren, and all of their accomplishments. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cremation will follow and a Memorial Service will be held at later date. GUILLEN -- Gloria Guillen went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2006 at the age of 56. She was born on February 3, 1950 in San Javier, Durango, Mexico. Mrs. Guillen is survived by her mother, Sabina Carrasco; daughter, Adriana Carrete and husband, Oscar; brothers, Guillermo Guillen and wife, Dolores and Consolacion Guillen and wife, Carmen; sister, Rosa Payan and husband, Alberto; grandson, Oscar Jayden Carrete; six nieces; and six nephews. Gloria will be missed by all. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with at Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the Rosary in the Celebration of Life Room also at Garcia Mortuary. MAYO -- Maurice Mayo, 82 years old, passed away on February 21, 2006. Maurice and Modelle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2006. He moved to Albuquerque from Havana, IL in November 1956. He retired from Wheaton Van Lines after serving 17 years as Regional Manager for the southwestern states. He is survived by his son, Mark and wife, Judith; granddaughter, Rhiannon Doyle and husband, George; granddaughter, Kathryn Faulkner and husband, Joseph; great-grandson, Benjamin, all of Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no memorial service.

MAYO -- Modelle Mayo, 82 years old, passed away on February 21, 2006. Modelle and Maurice celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2006. She moved to Albuquerque from Havana, IL in November 1956. She retired from Sunwest Bank in 1991 after 34 years of service. She had served as secretary to the President and CEO. She is survived by her son, Mark and wife, Judith; granddaughter, Rhiannon Doyle and husband, George; granddaughter, Kathryn Faulkner and husband, Joseph; and great-grandson, Benjamin, all of Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and at her request there will be no memorial service.

MONTI -- TONY. It is with great sadness the family of Tony Monti announces his death on the morning of February 23, 2006 after a short illness. His was a life well lived. He possessed a kind and generous heart, a quick temper, and an adventurous spirit. The great adventure of his youth was the time he spent in North Africa and Italy as a radio operator for the OSS. His next great adventure was the years he spent being a husband and father. He spent his final adventure enjoying the things that interested him. . . politics, people, computers, and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Loey; his daughter, Susi and husband, Duane; son, Mike and wife, Gretchen; grandchildren, Suzanne, Melissa, Dave, Dana, Jenny, Liz, and their families; great-grandchildren, Zach, Cloe, Maddy, Garrett, Kira, and Gemma. NICHOLSON -- "Nick" Nicholson, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Thursday, February 23, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Idell Nicholson; two sons, Louis Warner Nicholson III and wife, Rhonda of Ft. Worth, TX and James Wilson Nicholson and wife, Gayla of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Tiffany Richardson and husband, Rich, Kate Nicholson, Ryan Warner Nicholson and wife, Tina, Cynthia Denise Zadick and husband, Tom, Deborah and husband, Alan, Dannie Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Grant Warner, Cole, Jack Kendricks; and many, many friends. Nick was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jayme Suzanne. He was born in Bridgeton, NJ and served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. Nick served as an elder at Montgomery Church of Christ for 40 years. He worked for the State of New Mexico Department of Taxation and Revenue until his retirement. Nick was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. PAEZ -- Margarita Stelzner Paez died peacefully at the age of 92 on February 20, 2006. She is survived by her sons, Luis, Bill, and Alex; her daughters-in-law, Patricia and Isabelita; her grandchildren, Sarah and her husband, Dave, Alex and his partner, Janell, John and his wife, Kelly, Lucy, Mark, Nick, Dylan, and Jamie; her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, and Kristen; and many loving nieces and nephews. Margarita was born in Durango, Mexico, moved to San Antonio and spent most of her life in Los Angeles. She was a legal secretary in the 1930s and 40s and won a prize for her essay on becoming a U.S. citizen in the 1950s. She was a home care nurse in the 1970s and then moved to Albuquerque to be with her son's family where she found "peace, tranquility, and well being." She managed her apartments during the 1990s until into her 80s. She was a strong role model and loving presence for all of her family and will be missed. Her family is grateful for all of the loving support of their friends and the staff of the Cottages in the last years of Margarita's life. Funeral Mass will be held at Risen Saviour Church on April 8, 2006 at 9:30 a.m.

PENNINGTON -- Ronald Charles Pennington, born May 9, 1947 in Charleston, WVa, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM after a long battle with Lymphoma. Beloved son of R.C. "Preach" and Vivian Pennington, Ron grew up all over the world. He is survived by his mother, Vivian and step-father, Rob Hooper; brother, Dan Pennington and wife, Angela and their children, Danny and Stephanie; his sister, Carolyn Anong Williams and her husband, Gary and Ron's partner, Richard Plante of Washington, DC; step-sisters, Roxanne Knight and Sharylin Bancroft-Walden and step-brother, Steve Hooper. Ron attended British Overseas School in Columbo, Ceylon; Kodiakanal School in Kodiakanal, India; Cairo American College in Maadi, Egypt; Sandia and Del Norte High Schools in Albuquerque and graduated from the International School of Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Eastern New Mexico University in 1971. As a Visual Merchandiser, he was known for his work throughout Southeast Asia, the Western United States and Mexico. He won design awards from the Singapore Government and his work was frequently featured in the Southeast Asian design press. Most of the visual merchandisers working in Singapore area graduates of the course of study that Ron created. More recently, he lived and did design work in Washington, DC where he also was a docent-volunteer at the Library of Congress. Rosary will be recited Friday, February 24, 2006, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 25, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW. In lieu of flowers, Ron requested that memorial donations be made to the Catholic Relief Services, specifically for the feeding and relief of starving children in Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Chad and Somalia.
