BARON -- Sylvia Baron passed away in Albuquerque, NM on February 13, 2006. Born in Sioux City, IA to Rose and Max Friedman, she married Arnold Baron in 1940. After World War II, they moved to Rapid City, SD. They settled in Billings, MT, where they raised a family, participated in building the community, and operated their businesses for 35 years. As retirement approached, they moved to Los Angeles, CA and traveled extensively. The birth of their granddaughter and desire to be near their children brought them to Albuquerque in 1988. Sylvia was an accomplished wife, mother, business woman, volunteer, cook, and entertainer. She loved people, and with her wit and charm, brought light and love to everyone she encountered. In turn, she was loved by many, and will be sorely missed. The family wants to give special thanks to her dear friends and companions, Bonnie McKenzie, who stood by her and deeply loved her for the past five years, Katarina Van Holte, Donna Wilder, and Ciria Garcia. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Jaclyn Baron and husband, Juan Carmacho; her daughter, Judith Baron, son-in-law, Jeff Schmitt, granddaughter, Katarina Baron; her brother and sister, Will and Barbara Friedman; her niece, Lorraine Friedman and nephew, Louis Friedman and their families; and her nephew, Jerry Wigodsky and his wife, Judy. COMBS -- Eleanor Wray Combs passed away on Friday, February 10, 2006. She was born on April 21, 1918 in Houston, MS. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and was a devoted wife and mother. She then began her career as a fashion artist for The Emporium in Jackson, MS, in the 1960s. In the 1970s she moved to Fairbanks, AK, where she was Manager of Drawing Control for Alyeska Pipeline Company during the building of the Alaska Pipeline. After its completion in 1977, she made her home in Albuquerque where she opened Art Services of Albuquerque. She was a commercial artist and also a very talented "Fine Artist". She was preceded in death by her husbands, William R. Ingram, Jr. and Clyde L. Combs, and her eldest son, Judson L. Ingram. She is survived by her daughter, Julia I. Hines and husband, Curtis; son, William R. Ingram, III and wife, Glenda; seven grandchildren, Judson L. Ingram, Jr. and wife, Jean Ann, Anne Adair Ingram, Virginia Hines Beaudreau, William Curtis Hines, III and wife, Lissa, Benjamin Ingram, Jacqueline Ingram Daley and husband, John, Carrie Ingram; one great-grandchild, Sophia Eleanor Daley. CORDOVA -- Sean Cordova, age 19, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, died on February 15, 2006, when his life was taken from him senselessly. Sean is survived by his father, Richard Cordova; his mother, Janet Stoumbos; his financee, Stephanie Hoffman; his brothers, Christopher and Nigel Martin; his sister, Casey Sedillo; his grandmother, Audrey Simmons; his grandfather, Vincent Cordova, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. EVANS -- Judith A. Evans passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006. She is survived by her mother, Maria Evans; sisters, Nancy Pressley and husband, Terry, Caroline Prothero and husband, Michael; nephew, Alexander; and many cousins and friends. Judith was preceded in death by her father, Philip R. Evans. She enjoyed singing in her church choir and spending time teaching Sunday school to children. FERNANDEZ -- Lorinda (Laura) G. Mrs. Lorinda (Laura) G. Fernandez, 85, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on February 16, 2006. Mrs. Fernandez is survived by three children, Rita Fernandez, Peter Fernandez and wife, Priscilla, and James Fernandez; three grandsons, Michael Steven Fernandez, Jason Richard Fernandez and wife, Jennifer and John Zachary Fernandez and wife, Jami; and many other loving extended family members and friends. Mrs. Fernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Ignacio Fernandez; her sons, Joseph Anthony Fernandez, Frank David Fernandez, Victor Fernandez, and Daniel D. Fernandez. FITTIPALDI -- Elvira Marie Fittipaldi, 92, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2006. A native of Rosemont, PA, Vera was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 5, 1913. Her husband, Edward, preceded her in death. She is survived by her two sons, Silvio Fittipaldi and his wife, Agnes and her five children; and son, Edward Fittipaldi, his wife, Trish Fittipaldi and their daughters, Carolyn Fittipaldi, Christine Phillips (husband, Scott Phillips), and Lisa Fittipaldi. Haley and Ryan Phillips are her great-grandchildren. Vera was a kind and loving Mother and Grandmother. She had a great sense of humor, grace, charm, and elegance that endeared her to all. She was active in her community and church for many years. Services will be held at St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Villanova, PA on February 18, 2006.

GAULT -- Martha Gault, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2006. Martha was born in Trinidad, CO to Lloyd and Gladys (Brown) Pfleiderer. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Taylor of Arvada, CO; a son, Robert Gault of Albuquerque; a Brother, William Pfleiderer of Tucson, AZ; and granddaughter, Sarah Taylor of Arvada, CO. Martha was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Sigma Chi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Women's International for many years, where she served in several offices. She was a member of a Square Dancing Club and Arthur Murry where she won several dancing awards. Martha was an active USO volunteer during World War II, and active with the Mountain Bell Telephone Pioneers where she helped with the books on tape project for blind children. GOURLEY -- Everett R. Gourley, born January 16, 1917 died February 9, 2006. He resided in Sun City, AZ for the last year and a half. A Veteran of WWII, he was a Mason with Hiram Lodge #13 for 52 years. He retired from Sandia Labs after 30 years of service. He is survived by Mazie Gourley, his wife of 68 years; daughter, Nita Conatser of Washington DC; son, Stephen Gourley and wife, Marcia of Phoenix, AZ; son, Douglas Gourley and wife, Karen of Parker, CO; a half-brother, Ralph Gourley of Ft. Worth, TX; a half-sister, Mary Ruth Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK. He has seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held in Shawnee, OK, on March 25, 2006.

HOGLAND -- Doyle Hogland, 78, passed away February 15, 2006. Born August 10, 1927 in Melrose, NM to Ruth B. and Herschel Hogland, he is survived by his wife, Leona "Lou"; his sons, Richard and wife, Ronda, Mike and wife, Marilyn; four granddaughters, Christine, Dana, Jody, and Kacey; one grandson, Kyle; two sisters, Betty Hogland and Frances Rowland and husband, Harold; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Herschel Jr. and Elton. Doyle served in the Navy in WWII and the Army in Korea and has kept in touch with his Army buddies through the years. Doyle retired in 1997 after 40 years with the Wylie Corporation. Doyle was very devoted to his family and they were to him. As a member of Asbury UNMC he loved his church and "pew buddies." HURST -- ROBERT R. In Fond Remembrance of Robert R. Hurst December 20, 1941- February 14, 2006 Bob passed away at the VA hospital in Albuquerque after a long and difficult battle with pneumonia. He is survived by his children, David and Kristin; two (and soon three) grandchildren; his stepchildren: Barbara Voldahl Auten, Mary Voldahl Riley, Naomi Voldahl Corlis, Charles Voldahl, Lewis Voldahl; and 6 step-grandchildren. He also is survived by his father, Russel Hurst and step-mother, Dottie; the rest of his family: Peg, Dottie, Dick, Glenn, Bob, and Jo; and many loyal friends and other relatives. Bob was exceptionally gifted in intellect and athletics. He joined the U.S. Army Intelligence Service by choice, was a geologist by trade, and a humanitarian by nature. He founded Better Days, Inc. in Albuquerque in 1990. The organization has provided medical, safety, and comfort devices for thousands of low-income seniors. Better Days, Inc. continues its mission today after being relocated in T or C, NM in 1998, where needy seniors in Sierra County benefit from its assistance. MCKENZIE -- Laureen (Lori) Mary McKenzie, 51, of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 12, 2006. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. MILLARD -- Patricia "Patti" Diane Millard of Albuquerque passed away Friday, February 10, 2006 in her home. Patti was a loving mother, wife, and friend. She loved creating crafts and in so doing, filled her home with handmade touches that brought warmth only she could provide. Her love of roses now serves as a permanent memorial around her home. Patti's greatest joys were her loving sons, caring for others and helping lost or wounded animals. Her smile could light a room and her warmth will be sorely missed. In her short time in New Mexico, she worked at Southwest Medical in Rio Rancho. Patti was born and raised in Denver, CO but found her home moving to several states including California, Washington, Hawaii, Louisiana, and finally New Mexico. She is survived by her husband, Jim Millard; sons, Chris and Phillip Ritchie; sister, Sharon Daugherty; and mother and step-father, Henrietta and John Bullwinkle. MUEHLHAUSER -- Fred H. Muehlhauser, 87, of Albuquerque died peacefully February 15, 2006 with family at his side. Fred was born February 12, 1919 to Herman and Mary Muehlhauser in Cleveland, OH. His Christian faith was the guiding influence in his life and he saw its principles lived out every day at home by the two people who raised him, his Uncle Ted and Aunt Anna. As a teen he was a leader of the Heights Evangelical Youth Group, as an adult he was a Deacon and an Elder of First Presbyterian Church of Endicott, NY, where he still has many friends. In retirement he was President of the United Methodist Senior Council in Albuquerque and for 9 years he headed St. Stephen's Senior Fellowship, enriching the lives of many seniors. His Christian faith determined how he lived his life and how he related to all people. He graduated from Cleveland College on the co-op plan. He chose a 36 year career as a Tremco Manufacturing Company salesman, working tirelessly to provide for his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and uncle, providing for many wonderful family times together and creating many magical holiday memories. He was active in the formation of UNM-LIFE (Learning Institute for Elders) - forerunner of the Institute for Life Long Learning in N.M. The way he lived his life continues to be an inspiration to those who knew him. His greatest gift to family and friends was and is his steadfast love and undying friendship. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Connie; his daughter, Linda Muehlhauser of Santa Cruz, CA; his daughter, Karen Miller and her husband, Don of Rio Rancho, NM; his son, Steve Muehlhauser of Boulder, CO; his grandsons, Steve Muehlhauser of San Jose, CA, and Jason Miller of Albuquerque, and his brother's children, Edward, Suzie, and Jim Mulhauser. SINGLETON-STEPHENS -- Cecile Singleton-Stephens, 85, 4440 Morris Ave. Albuquerque, NM, died Wednesday in an Albuquerque hospital. Services will be held at the Gene Autry United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday with Rev. Ed Harwood officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Gene Autry cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Russell Stephens of Albuquerque; two daughters, Carol Ray of Albuquerque, Duronda Schlue and husband, Larry, Belle Plaine, IA; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two-step daughters, Sandi Montgomery of Claremore, OK and Linda Harp and husband, Thomas of Sunray, TX; and nine step-grandchildren also survive her. Cecile was born September 2, 1920 in Ardmore, OK to Cecil and Ozella Dillon Crosby. During World War II she worked in the Douglas Aircraft factory in Oklahoma City. After the war she and her husband Durward Winters made their home in Odessa, TX. In later years she lived in Horseshoe Bay, TX and Rociada, NM. In her 80th year she married her golfing partner Russell Stephens and they continued to enjoy their years at her home in Pendaries Village near Rociada. A memorial fund has been established. Pat Smith leaves behind a huge legacy of volunteer service with Easter Seals Society and Scouting in Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New Mexico. She received the Charles C. Campbell Outstanding Volunteer Tribute in 1986 for her outstanding work with Easter Seals in New Mexico. Pat also supported thousands of young men and women through her service to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America where she earned numerous awards of merit including the Silver Fawn Award. She was also the first woman to serve on a Wood Badge staff for the South Central Region for the Boy Scouts of America. Pat was also the Director of Camp Klehani, a highly successful summer day camp for Cub Scouts and kids ranging from seven to ten years old, which served as a model for summer Cub Scout Day Camps nationwide. In addition to her community service, Pat also served along side her husband, George in the United State Air Force for 24 years. During this time Pat was recognized as a leader in Military family life and named Tactical Air Command Military Wife of the Year in the early 70s. No woman has served her husband, family, friends, community and county with such humility as did Patricia Smith. Her servant's heart will be missed by the thousands who came in contact with her generosity and selfless love. She was an accomplished artist and had many other diverse interests including wood working, gourmet cooking, camping, skiing, reading, and antiquing. Visitation will be held Monday, February 20, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. WAYMIRE -- LeRoy O. Waymire, loving brother, father, and grandfather passed away on February 13, 2006. LeRoy was born in Denver, CO on May 30, 1929. He moved to New Mexico in his early 20s and was a long-time resident of Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his three daughters and their families; Terry and Ray Boatman, and their daughter, LaRheta, Pattie and Rick Sanchez, and their daughter, Nicole, and Jayne and Mark Cravens and their sons, Kyle and Cody. LeRoy was the eldest of eight children born to Frank and Elsie Waymire. He is survived by his three sisters and four brothers: Mary Lubking, Carol McGregor, and Linda, Richard, John, Bill, and David Waymire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsie Waymire and his nephew, Mark McGregor. YOUNG -- William (Bill) E. Young Jr., an Albuquerque resident since 1953, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the age of 64. He was a loving husband for 36 years, a nurturing father, and a loyal friend to all whom had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends and remembered for all the wonderful things he brought to each of their lives. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; and children, Leon, Nicole, Andrea, Margareta, and Charlene; brother, Steve and family: Eugenia, David, Katrina, Peter,and Andrew; and brother, Bob and family: Debbie and Matt; in-laws, Marge, Tom, Bob, Donna, Katherine, and Justin Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Anita Young. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1973. After graduating from UNM, Bill worked for General Electric Company for 32 years prior to his retirement. Some of the organizations he was involved in included the Masons, where he was a member of Hiram Lodge AF & AM and the NRA, where he was a lifetime member. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
