BARELA -- Rebecca Anna Alisa Barela went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2005 at the age of 23. She was born on September 18, 1982 in New Mexico. Rebecca was a graduate of Valley High School. She is survived by her father, Anthony Barela; mother, Sarah Rodriguez; her son, Kaleb Rey Barela; brothers, Anthony Barela and wife Shelley and Ramon Barela and wife Amanda; sister, Christina Barela; nephews and nieces, Nadia, Bubba, Lux and Abbie; special relatives, Auntie Anna, Uncle Will and Tia Linda and Uncle Ray; other aunties and uncles, Magda, Angela, Mandy, Stephen and Beto; grandparents, Willie and Bessie Rodriguez and Yvonne Vega; great grandparents, Sarah Sedillo and Martha Chavez. Rebecca will be deeply missed by all. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at Garcia Mortuary. BAUSKE -- Vivian Bauske, 88, formerly of Clovis, New Mexico, died Friday, December 9, 2005, at The Cottages of Albuquerque, where she had resided for the past three years. She was born Friday, August 17, 1917, in Harrisburg, Missouri. Vivian is survived by one son, Dr. Roger Hren, and wife, Marie, of Albuquerque, and daughter, Erlene E. Seay, and husband, Glenn, of Los Alamos; three granddaughters, Kimberly Smith of South Carolina, Jenny Hudgens, and husband, James, of Anthony, Sahmantha Seay Cannon of Santa Fe; two grandsons, Tim Seay, and wife, Karol, of Taos, Jeff Seay, and wife, Jacque, of Los Alamos; three great grandchildren, Austin Hudgens, Reed Hudgens, and Victoria Hudgens of Anthony, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Weldon R. Bauske. Her family purchased a farm in La Junta, Colorado, and they left Harrisburg when Vivian was two years old. She grew up in La Junta and moved to Clovis, where she went to beauty school and became a beautician. Graveside services will take place Saturday, December 17, 2005, 11:30 a.m., at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, New Mexico. DAVIS -- Isobel Davis, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, passed away with her loving family around her on December 11, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frank L. Davis of Albuquerque; sisters, Helen Lang of Albuquerque and Mary Budd of Rosemount, MN; grandchildren, Nathan and Becca Davis; great-grandchildren, Raina Vigil and Yazmin Rose Davis; daughter-in-law, Pattie Davis; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends. Isobel was preceded in death by her son, Bruce D. Davis in 1986; her parents, Henry Kittell and Edna Stromquist Kittell; and her brothers, Hank and Howard Kittell. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Congregational Church and League of Women Voters and volunteered her time with Project Share. Isobel generously shared her time and resources with many charitable organizations. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 2801 Lomas NE with Pastor Lee Albertson officiating. DOVE -- Carolyn Joan Randall Dove passed away on December 7, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born September 28, 1941 in Liberal, Kansas. Her family moved to Dawson, NM in 1943 and in 1948 to Truth or Consequences. They moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1954 where she graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1959. In high school she was active in music as a pianist and an award winning bassoonist. She attended University of New Mexico graduating with her Baccalaureate Degree in Music Education. She married Floyd Harvey Dove on July 7, 1963 and lived in Lompoc and San Gabriel, California. For graduate study, they moved to Tucson where she taught music at the University of Arizona and Harvey earned his Ph.D. in Water Resources. His working career took them to Saudi Arabia; Rockville Maryland, Tampa, Florida, Richland, Washington; Lee's Summit, Missouri; Albuquerque, NM and Las Vegas, Nevada. Carolyn served her precious Lord Jesus Christ and community as church secretary in many of those cities. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Harvey; her parents, Gregg and Fern Randall of Las Cruces; and her brother and his family, Darrel, Rose, and Evangeline Randall of Albuquerque. EPPERSON -- Joyce Bonita Epperson, 95, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005 at her home after a short illness. She was born February 25, 1911 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma. Joyce graduated from Mill Creek High School and attended Ada, Oklahoma State Teachers College, graduating in 1933. She married Freeman Epperson in 1934 in Tecumsache, Oklahoma where they taught for 2 years. In 1935 their only daughter, Janelle, was born. The family moved to Rogers, NM and taught there till 1947. Joyce was a Home Economics teacher and Freeman a principal and coach. In 1947 they traveled to Holbrook, AZ. Freeman was principal and basketball coach and passed away in 1974. In Holbrook she was teacher of the year in 1963 and a member of the Methodist Community Church. Joyce retired in 1976 and moved to Albuquerque where she was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma in 1961, Gamma Chapter in Albuquerque since 1976 and a long time member of the N.E.A. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janelle of Albuquerque; nephews, Cris Underwood and Richard Padilla; nieces, Emilie Underwood and Divina Padilla; great- nephews, Richard Underwood, Conrad Padilla and wife, Patsy and Ramil Padilla and wife, Sun-Ah; great- nieces, Cristal Everette and Annita O'Connor; great-great- nephews, Joshua Rowden, Alexander Everette, Alec O'Connor and Adrian Padilla; great-great- nieces, Malaya Everette, Naomi Padilla, and Kate Padilla. FLUHMAN -- Katherine Mary (De Freese) Fluhman died on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at the age of 92. She was born on September 20, 1913 in Blackburn Gulch, California. She was preceded in death by her husband and pioneer partner, Otto, who died in 1992. Katherine dedicated her life to do God's will as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1935 and began her career as a pioneer, or full-time publisher of the good news, just two years later, in 1937. She continued in her chosen career as a pioneer for 68 years, helping many individuals come to an accurate knowledge of our Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and His son, Jesus Christ. Her Memorial Service will be conducted by Richard Olguin, an elder in the West Congregation, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 8600 Los Volcanes Rd, NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

HANSBERG -- Virginia R. Hansberg, 54, went to be with the Lord. Virginia was walking to work when she was struck by a vehicle and killed on the morning of December 8, 2005. You may remember her as an employee of the Shell Gas Station and the Coffee Break across from Intel. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and loved ones. She is survived by her two daughters and grandkids. A Rosary for Virginia will be recited Friday the 16th at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo at 7:30 p.m. on Camino Del Pueblo. Burial Mass will be held Saturday the 17th at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 11:00 a.m. on Sara Road in Rio Rancho. Donations are being accepted for the Funeral of Virginia Hansberg. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Anna Di Marzio; siblings Ritz, Lena, and Johnnie; daughters, Elaine Joan Volpato and Sally Louise Henry; and grandson, Jon Edward Tipton of Carlsbad, NM. She was born on July 27, 1919 and was married in Raton, NM in 1940 to Jack E. Henry. Mrs. Henry was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her care and thoughts were always for others. Her love of flowers and outside gardening were her passion. A sunny day and blooming flowers gave her delight. Cooking and baking was her specialty. Christine was known for her wonderful pies. KELLER -- Anthony Wendel Keller, 94, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his son, Anthony and daughter-in-law, Lynn Keller of Danville, CA; his daughter, Marlene and son-in-law, Christian Fritz of Albuquerque; by his sister, Barbara Weinman of the Seattle area; and by numerous family members. He provided devoted care to his beloved wife of 54 years, Mildred Fredrickson, during her lengthy illness prior to her death in 2003. Born on December 23, 1910 in a village near Odessa, Russia, he emigrated to America in 1911 with his parents, John and Magdalena Keller and siblings, settling first in Collyer, KS and then on a farm north of Havre, MT. Tenth of fourteen surviving children, he graduated from Havre High School and a California Technical Institute. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers in WWII, moving to Richmond, CA in 1948, where he lived until 2003. He was a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend, who was known for his dedication to family, community, and church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1936 and twice Grand Knight of Council 2741, a past president and member since 1945 of IBEW Local 360 in Oakland, an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad from 1945 - 1975, and an active parishioner of St. Cornelius Church since 1948. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Sunset View Mortuary at Colusa and Fairmount Avenue in El Cerrito, CA, followed by a Memorial Mass on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Cornelius Church, 225 28th St., Richmond, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Cornelius Church or your favorite charity are requested. KNOLL -- Thomas J. Knoll, 76, passed from this life on Monday, December 12, 2005 following a lengthy illness. Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gertrude, of the family home; sons, Thomas Jr. of Fullerton, CA, Kenneth of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Terry and grandson, Christopher, both of Albuquerque. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Bernie Webb and sister-in-law, Ann P Webb; brothers-in-law, Nabor Pena of Gallup, NM, Louis Pea of Belen, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was born July 15, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Air Traffic Control Center where he retired after 22 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church for over 40 years. Tom had a love and passion for his family, life, travel and Bingo. LUBARSKY -- Michael R. Lubarsky, age 60 of Albuquerque, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away Tuesday December 13, 2005 at a local hospital. Michael was born June 3, 1945 in Springfield, Mass. The eldest son of Edward and Eunice Lubarsky, He moved to the Albuquerque area in 1960. He married Deanna Birdsbill on August 17, 1996 in Albuquerque. Michael was a commercial real estate broker and co-owner with his partner Art Paterson of L&P real estate in Albuquerque. He was a veteran during the Vietnam era serving with the United States Army signal corps. He was a charter member of Tower Road Baptist Church and previously served as there youth Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed his church and its members he was a devoted Christian, who loved his Lord and his family with zeal. His family will deeply miss his sense of humor and all the special times they shared together. Mike taught many the everyday importance of a simple hug, enjoyed the simple things in life and loved his dogs, Cato and Coco both rescued off the street. He is survived by his adoring wife Deanna, his loving family: Robin; Edward; Steven, Urusla and son, Jake; Neil and wife, JoMarie; Nicole Vanacore; grandsons; Jocobo Lubarsky and Alex and Andrew Vanacore; his loving mother Eunice Zoosman-Lubarsky; sister Sandra and her husband Frank Lawrence; brothers Gary and his wife Vanessa; Bob and his wife Carol Lubarsky; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Lubarsky, his Brother Neil and Granddaughter Renee. LUJAN -- Frankie David Lujan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 1, 2005 after a sudden illness. A resident of Denver, CO, formerly from Bernalillo (Llanito), NM, he was a caring man, who loved to sing and play guitar. Frankie served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 thru 1989. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family dearly. He is survived by wife, Angie; children, Bryson, Bryana, and Brayden; his mother, Terry and husband, Frank (Kiki) Lucero; and his father, Manuel Lujan. Survived also by sister, Lisa and husband, Danny Archunde, and children Daniel, and Danielle; sister, Lori Lujan and son, Matthew; and sister, Karen Lujan, and sons, Benjamin, Joey, and Samuel; also step-brothers, John, Michael, and Robbie Lucero. MILLER -- Paul R. Miller, 83, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Four Corners Health Care Center in Durango, Colorado. Mr. Miller was born July 4, 1922 in Wooster, Ohio the son of Earnest F. and Mary Gale Mowrer Miller. He married Lydia Coppola on September 27, 1947 in Wooster, Ohio. Mr. Miller served in the Army during World War II, enlisting on October 31, 1942, attaining the rank of Technician 5th Grade. He was a member of Battery A, 28th Field Artillery Battalion at Normandy in WWII. His craftsmanship has been evident as the builder of many fine homes in Wooster and in Albuquerque's premier Ridgecrest neighborhood. Mr. Miller was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Miller; his mother, Mary Miller; his brother, Harold Miller; and his sister, Ruth Black. He is survived by his wife, Lydia, Paul Miller (son) of Hesperus, Colorado, Penny Miller (daughter-in-law) of Hesperus, Colorado, Emily Miller (granddaughter) of Hesperus, Colorado, Rachel Miller (granddaughter) of Hesperus, Colorado, Randy Miller (nephew) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Norma Miller (sister-in-law) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Patty Calvert (niece) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Linda Vigil (niece) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Diane Bray (niece) of Akron, and Ohio, Bradley Black (nephew) of Pennsylvania. PADILLA -- Jose Teodoro Padilla "Teddy Bear", was born May 6, 1932. On Tuesday, December 13, 2005 he went home to be with the Lord. "Teddy Bear" was a lifetime North Valley resident and he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force form 1951 to 1955. He retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department where he served for 27 years. "Teddy Bear" was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ramona and he is survived by his children, Lawrence and wife Laura, Carmen and Arturo, Bella and husband, Ruben, Chris and wife, Sandra, Nettie and Joe, Maria and Stephanie, Phillip and wife, Genevieve and Jessica; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Simon (deceased), Juanita, Eliza (deceased), Sr. Barbara, Dolores, Francis, Simon (deceased), Lupe, Pauline and Elena; numerous godchildren and many other family members and friends who loved and will greatly miss him. SANCHEZ -- Alice V. Sanchez, 87, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 12, 2005 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Sanchez is the beloved mother to, Mary Elaine Padilla and husband, Jole, Josie Sanchez and husband, Miramon, Martin Thomas Sanchez and wife, Debbie, Jessie Sanchez, Joanna Castillo and husband, Carlos, David Sanchez and wife, Sandra. She is also survived by two sisters, Petrita Romero and Fina Martinez; two brothers, Tranquilino Vigil and Joe Vigil and wife, Vivian; a sister in law, Rosa Vigil; many grand- great- and great- great- grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Luis, sons, Johnny, Michael and Raymond, a daughter, Vicky. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Edmund Savilla. Interment will follow at the Los Padillas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Joseph Barboa, Roberto Proa, Steve R. Sanchez, Ropey A. Trujillo, Frank Castillo and Joseph Castillo. TELLEZ -- Christina Tellez, age 70, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, passed away on December 11, 2005. Christina was born in Mentmore, NM in 1935. Upon graduating from High School in Gallup, she and younger sister, Mary joined the U.S. Navy. She served mostly on the East coast. Upon completion of her military service, she went on to the University of New Mexico, received a degree in Education, and became a teacher. She taught in Gallup, Zuni, and Menaul School in Albuquerque. She also administered the Head Start Programs throughout Northern New Mexico, but spent the greater part of her career with the Sioux in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Christina loved teaching and working with the young students. She retired for a brief time in South Dakota, but due to health problems returned home to Albuquerque. Most recently Christina served as a volunteer at the Los Volcanes Senior Center Library. She is survived by five brothers, Louis Tellez, and wife, Isabel, Felimon Tellez and, wife, Annie, Tom Tellez and, wife, Mabel, Daniel Tellez and wife, Maureen, Tony Tellez and wife, Martha; four sisters, Virginia T. Wayne, Theresa T. Brown, Mary Mason and husband, Ralph, and Elvira Tellez. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Tellez Sr., Julia Pino Tellez; one brother, Manuel Tellez Jr.; and sister, Jennie T. Munoz. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Alameda Mortuary Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Alameda Mortuary Chapel. TORRES -- Dennis Marvin Torres, 49, passed away on December 13, 2005 after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Torres; his children, Sarah Torres, Brandon Torres and Vanessa de Soto; his mom, Mandy Goodyear; his siblings, Gilbert Torres and wife, Desiree, Rene O'Neill, Jackie Candelaria and Carlos, Patrick Goodyear and Theresa, and Greg, Shirley, Jeff and Rita; several nephews and nieces; and many relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW.

TORREZ -- Arturo Torrez, 83, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 13, 2005. Mr. Torrez is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Garcia and husband, Mark; one son, Phillip Torrez and wife, Rose; three grandchildren, Tanya Torrez, Monica Torrez and Ann Marie Garcia; a brother-in-law, Lazaro Lopez; one uncle, Frank Silva; very close friends, The Miranda Family; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Torrez was preceded in death by his wife, Anita; two sisters, Fide Torrez and Martina Lopez; a brother, Isidro Torrez; and an infant daughter, Mary Torrez. Mr. Torrez was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, was in the second wave at Normandy, Company G 406th Infantry-102nd Division. Mr. Torres was a wonderful, caring, loving and giving father and grandfather and a special friend to many. A visitation for Mr. Torrez will be Friday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family, 562 Atrisco SW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Pajarito Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Army. VALVERDE -- Alan K In loving memory of Alan K. Valverde, who went home to the Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2005. Born June 14, 1949 in Deming, NM and raised there, Alan is survived by his mother, Frances of Deming; brother, Dan of Dolores, CO; sister, Susan of Tucson, AZ, sister, Karen of Deming; daughters, Heather of Albuquerque and Alicia of San Francisco, CA; three grandchildren; and his loving companion, Elaine Calvin of Albuquerque. His love of music prompted him to become an accomplished guitarist who performed with a number of groups in the Las Cruces, El Paso, Phoenix and Albuquerque areas for many years. He was laid to rest in Deming on December 3, 2005. For his local family and friends, there will be a Memorial Service on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Countryside Mobile Home Park Clubhouse at 4201 Coors Blvd. SW in Albuquerque, just south of Rio Bravo.

VARGAS -- Alice B. Vargas, age 74, passed away at home, Monday, December 12, 2005. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, she is survived by her children, Joe Chavez, Rose Padilla and husband, Chris, Eileen Chavez, Jeanette Apodaca and husband, Ben, Ralph Moreno and wife, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella Perez, Georgia Sedillo and Merlin Jojola; brothers, Jimmy Chavez, Johnnie Chavez and Joben Chavez; many nephews, nieces, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Memorial Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 550 Atrisco Dr. SW. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
