ABEYTA -- Laura S. Abeyta, 89, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 16, 2005. Mrs. Abeyta is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Abeyta. ARMSTRONG -- Gertrude Christensen Armstrong passed away November 14, 2005 in Grants, NM. She was born June 20, 1913 in Richfield, UT to William Delbert Christensen and Josephine Peterson Christensen. She graduated from Snow College in Utah with a teaching degree. She married Morrin Evan Armstrong on December 21, 1936 in Utah. They moved to Albuquerque in March 1948. She taught kindergarten in Albuquerque and later opened Country Kindergarten in the South Valley. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will forever be loved and missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Merrylin Fulks of Albuquerque; her sons, Evan W. Armstrong of Albuquerque and Ronald A. Armstrong of Milan; two sisters, Dessa Paulson, Kathryn Harris; and one brother, Vegh Christensen, all of Utah; her grandchildren, Ralph Fulks III, Leah Lin Musso, and J. Jekoa Fulks and wife, Histina, Lance Morrin Armstrong and wife, Abigail, Paul Pleadwell, and Scotty Pleadwell; her great-grandchildren, Maggie Raquel Fry, Joshua and Rebekka Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morrin Evan Armstrong; and daughter, Louise Armstrong. A viewing will be held Friday, November 18, 2005 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Graveside Services and burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

BRANNEN -- Louise Allman Brannen passed away on November 9, 2005 at La Vida Llena in Albuquerque, NM. She was a graduate of Bates College and Harvard graduate school. She had taught high school in Cornish, ME and Wakefield, MA, and later taught in the Experimental School of Danbury State College, in CT. Her avocation was music. She studied violin at Blue Hill with Frank Kneisel and with Carlos Pinfield of the Boston Symphony. She played with the Woman's Symphony of Boston, was concert master of the Danbury Symphony and played with the Asheville and Hendersonville Symphonies in NC. She was past regent of Faneuil Hall Chapter of the DAR, was a member of the Eastern Star and was very active with the Red Cross. Louise is survived by Boit, her husband of 61 years; and her daughter, Elaine and her husband, Andy Thornton of Capitan, NM.

BUNDRANT -- Millie M. Bundrant was born December 28, 1928 and passed away November 15, 2005 at her home of complications from a stroke. Mrs. Bundrant was preceded in death by her husband, Claude L. Bundrant; parents, George and Mildred Crosby; and sister, Margie Burke. She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Moore and husband, Dan, Brenda Franklin and husband, Harold; son, Claude "Dusty" Bundrant, Jr.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with two on their way into this life; six sisters; and one brother. Mrs. Bundrant will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her hobbies were bingo, bowling, crafts, camping, and hunting. BURCHETT -- Olden Lee Burchett passed away on November 16, 2005, in Fairview, OK. He was born on April 4, 1934, in Seiling, OK to Roy and Louise Burchett. He attended Deep Creek elementary and Seiling High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Olden worked at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico for thirty-two years. Olden taught Mechanical Engineering for many years at Oklahoma State University, University of Oklahoma, University of New Mexico, and Texas Tech University. He is survived by his wife, Jean of fifty-one years. His children are David Olden Burchett, deceased; Howard Roy Burchett of Bosque Farms, NM; daughter, Laura Jean and husband, Shannon Ritchie; and three grandchildren, Haley, Garrett, and Gavin Ritchie of Lubbock, TX; brothers, O'Neill and wife, Charlotte Burchett of Las Cruces, NM; Bud Burchett of Seiling, OK; sister, Bonnie Cox of Seiling, OK; and brothers-in-law, Dwayne Hedges of Seiling, OK; Rubin and wife, Ann Millerborg of Piedmont, OK. FORD -- JOHN W. FORD died at his home on November 16, 2005 following an extended illness. The Ford family lost a much-loved husband, Dad and Grandpa. He was born in Picher, OK, on October 6, 1925, to John Earl Ford and Beulah Angeline Green. He attended schools in Picher until 1943 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge in 1946 he returned to the Picher area. Before moving to Deming, NM in 1959, John worked in the mining industry in Oklahoma and in oil refineries in West Texas. After settling in Deming he worked for a short time as the manager of a local truck stop before going to work for Albuquerque based road construction firms. He worked on roads throughout the State of New Mexico until his retirement. John leaves behind a family who will miss his love, his hugs, his terrific smile and his great attitude towards life. He is survived by June Ford, his wife of 59 years; four children, Marilyn, Dianna Manly, Dave and Ronnie; two daughters-in-law; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Graveside Services will be held for John at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, November 21, 2005 at Mountain View Cemetery. GERMAN -- Lawrence Davis German, M.D., FAAC, age 55, died Tuesday, November 16, 2005 following a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Thursday, April 28, 1950 in Schenectady, NY to Lawrence Lyle and Phyllis Davis German. Dr. German attended Boston University Medical School, did his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY and completed his Fellowship in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Duke University in Durham, NC, where he continued as faculty and head of the Electrophysiology Department at Duke until 1988. After leaving Duke University, Dr. German practiced Cardiology Electrophysiology in Nashville, TN with Page-Campbell Cardiology from 1988 until 1999. In 2000, Dr. German moved to Albuquerque, NM and joined The New Mexico Heart Institute where he practiced until his death. He is survived by his wife, Danise, and daughter, Kirsten Macall, age 10, of Albuquerque; daughters, Laura Ellen, age 26 and Julia Lynn, age 24, both of Nashville, TN; step-son, Brannon Edward Burroughs, age 23 of Atlanta, GA; father, Lawrence Lyle German; sister, Ellen Berndt and niece, Elizabeth Berndt of Columbus, OH; brother, Andrew German and sister-in-law, Luann German of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Davis German. Dr. German devoted his life to Electrophysiology and healing hearts. The hearts of his family, co-workers, friends and patients that are now broken in his loss, will find solace in knowing that he deeply loved and cared for each one of us and remains with us through his spirit of commitment felt by all. The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 18, 2005 at the family home of the late Dr. Lawrence German from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Albuquerque Country Club. The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to all the people who assisted in the care of Dr. German during his illness with special mention to Dr. Vijay Agarwal, Dr. Barbara McAneny, Vince Gilbert and the wonderful staff of VistaCare and The New Mexico Heart Institute. JARAMILLO -- Yolanda Jaramillo, born May 3, 1966, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on November 14, 2005. She is survived by her mother and father, Frank C. and Odellia Jaramillo; brother, Richard S. Jaramillo from Bernalillo; sister in law, Luz Jaramillo; and beloved nieces, Ana Luz and Marisol Jaramillo from Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her brother, Chris R. Jaramillo (coach Jara) on March 15, 2005. KARAMANIAN -- Florence Karamanian, 79, born in Waukon, IA died November 11, 2005. A beautiful lady and one of Jehovah's Witnesses, for 50 years she served her creator going from house to house doing the Lord's work. She touched the heart of many hundreds of people preaching the "good news of God's Kingdom." She also had a hobby of making "quillos." She made over two hundred of them and gave many to friends. She was generous, kind, friendly and always smiling - a very positive person. Her favorite saying: "Let's turn this lemon into lemonade!" She awaits a resurrection promised by God into a paradise earth. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her two children, Karan Karamanian and Bruce Dahly and his wife, Kathy; also four grandchildren, Steve Pendarvis, Kimberly Pendarvis, Crystal Skaggs, Kristen Dahly; and a great-grandchild, Raven Pendarvis; also her sister, Lila Cowen and her husband, Jim and their children, Ronnie, Scott, Diane, Sheryl, and Mary Lynn; also her brother, Milo Saak and wife, Rose. KNEEDLER GRANDSTAFF -- Rita Kathleen Kneedler Grandstaff, 55, of Oxford School Road, Claremont, NC died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born December 14, 1949 in Olympia, Washington, she was the daughter of Rex O. and Rose Mary Garity Kneedler. She was an auditor for Internal Revenue Service. Survivors include her parents, Rex O. and Rose Mary Garity Kneedler of Bosque Farm, NM; daughter and son-in-law, Leann Litterer and husband Tom of Burnsville, MN; son & daughter-in-law, Robert Meade and wife Angela of Goosecreek, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Robin Finlayson of Boca Raton, Fl, Ramona Mayle and husband Richard of Bosque Farms, NM, companion, Robert Eugene Grandstaff of the home; three grandsons; three granddaughters; two nephews. LIND -- Julietta R. Lind, 69 was born in Honduras September 25, 1936. She passed on November 16, 2005. Julie, her mother, Corina and sister, Sandra immigrated from Honduras to Hollywood, CA in 1950. Julie graduated from Hollywood High School in 1954. She later met a young Marine named William Lind and they married in 1957. Julie and Bill later moved to Albuquerque where she supported her husband while he attended UNM. They then moved into their life long home in Paradise Hills. In 1963, Julie became a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She eventually became a life long member, where she made dear friends. While taking care of her family, Julie worked as a bilingual teaching aid. She also worked in the insurance industry for many years. She spent the remaining years of her life doing what she loved most, taking care of her family and friends. Julie is survived by her husband of 48 years, William Lind; a sister, Sandra Ruffino and husband, Robert of Sacramento, CA; two children: son, Clinton Lind and wife, Tammie of Corrales, NM; a daughter, Kori Heath of Peralta, NM; grandchildren, Casey Heath, Nicole Mills, Kayla, Cameron, and Johanna Lind; two nephews, Robert and Tim Ruffino, and their families, from California; a niece, Cindee Hirano, and family, from Texas. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Corina Stark. Julie will be missed by all who knew and loved her. MARTIN -- Colette, P. Martin, age 52, of Hillsborough, NC died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 in her home. Colette was born on April 13, 1954 in Lowell, MA to Henry and Rita Demers (deceased), of Phoenix, AZ. Colette is survived by her sister, Connie, and brother-in-law, Jim Miller of Phoenix, AZ. Previously married and still a friend to Steve Martin of Hillsborough, Colette mothered two wonderful surviving sons, Christopher Martin (25) and Ryan Martin (16) whom she treasured and loved dearly. Colette's long-term companion, Keitha Barrett 42, also of Hillsborough, brought two other children to Colette's warm household whom she treasured as her own, Alexandra Barrett-Ashley 15, and Cameron Barrett, 10. Colette attended Sandia High School and lived for much of her adult life in Albuquerque, NM until she moved to North Carolina in 1998. Colette will be missed dearly by the friends and family she left behind in Albuquerque and in Hillsborough. Her laughter will always be remembered by those who knew her. Colette's second love besides her family was the family she had at Sports Endeavors where she worked tirelessly for the past six years as Assistant Shipping Manager. Besides cooking and taking care of the family, Colette loved working around horses, working in the yard, and was a "Jill of all Trades." A casual gathering of friends and neighbors to celebrate Colette's remarkable life will take place Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Little River Regional Park (301 Little River Park Way, in Rougemont, NC - Located on Guess Road between St. Mary's Church Road and New Sharon Church Road). Colette had always desired to benefit others and opted to be an organ donor upon her death. Walker Funeral Home in Hillsborough will handle arrangements and interment will occur in Albuquerque, NM, where she will rest with her parents. A memorial fund has been set up at Sports Endeavors, Inc where donations will be accepted in lieu of flowers. All donations to the memorial fund will be given to the Human Rights Campaign, an organization Colette adamantly supported in life. Colette's companion and friend and family wish to sincerely thank the community of Hillsborough for supporting Colette in life and in her passing.

SHUBERT -- Barbara M. Shubert, beloved by husband, family, and friends, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005. Barbara was born in Ashland, KS on March 31, 1929. She was raised in Beaver, OK until moving to Raton, NM with her parents in 1942. She continued her education, graduating from Raton High School and attending the University of New Mexico. She raised her family in Raton and in Las Vegas, NM. Barbara married Ralph A. Shubert on June 25, 1951 and they had seven children. Ralph and Barbara were partners in several businesses in Las Vegas, NM, Raton, NM, and Mora County NM. Barbara is survived by her husband, Ralph; and her children and their spouses, Mark (Joy), Marilyn, Kirk, Alan (Pam), Glen (Kecia), Karl (Telena), and Gary (Sara). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reola Rowland and Earle Maple. Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raton with Father Ronald J. Burke as celebrant. THOMAS -- Betty M. Thomas, 82, passed from this life Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Betty Lou McFadden was born April 3, 1923, in Ringwood, OK to Lula and Roy McFadden. She came to Albuquerque from northern New Mexico in 1940. She worked for the Corps of Engineers during World War II and later worked for APS, retiring in 1988 as secretary at Bellehaven Elementary School. In 1947, she married William P. Thomas, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Weidenmeyer and husband, Bob of Houston, TX and Debra Smith of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Heather Nagy and husband, Mike of Houston, TX and Geremy Gillespie of Chandler, AZ; and two great-grandsons, Luke and Brandon Nagy of Houston, TX; two brothers, Paul McFadden of Albuquerque and Walter McFadden of Florence, CO; and two sisters, Kathryn Knotts of New Plymouth, ID and Frances Walters of Granada Hills, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a grandson. VALADEZ -- Mary Valadez, 55, died November 16, 2005. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alfonso ' Sito ' Garcia; parents, Alfonso P. Garcia and Mary C. Anaya; husband, Arthur Valadez; and daughter, Jennie Valadez. She is survived by her brother, George W. Garcia and wife, Olivia; nephews, George Garcia Jr., and Frank Garcia and wife, Jessica; niece, Jennifer Gallegos and husband, James; several great-nieces and -nephews; aunt and uncle, Orlando "Babe" Lopez and wife, Theresa. A Rosary will be recited at St. Francis Xavier Church on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at St. Francis Xavier Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. WELLS -- Marjorie Joan Wells, 73, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past seven years, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2005. Marjorie was born August 16, 1932, the daughter of William and Elsie Joyce Sully in Townsford, MA. She had been a beautician before retiring and being able to spend quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marjorie and her husband came to Rio Rancho after living in Carrizozo, NM for 45 years. Marjorie was a member of the Carrizozo Women's Club, T.O.P.S. Club of Rio Rancho, was very active in her church, and she loved swimming. Marjorie was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Pino, and one great-granddaughter, Janise Padilla. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, C. Ray Wells of Rio Rancho; sister/daughter, Judy O'Brien and husband, Carol Finkbeiner of Tularosa, NM; son, Gerald Wells and wife, Peggy of Georgia; daughters, Donna Ortiz and husband, Carl of Albuquerque, Diana Wells of Nogal, NM, and Debbie Wells of Ruidoso, NM; two brothers, Will Sully and wife, Frances and Warren Sully; sister, Bonnie Sully; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 from 12:00 Noon until the time of Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Outreach Church, 2900 Southern Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM with Pastor Kent Barnard officiating.
