He was born July 26, 1917, in Kansas City, MO to Noreen Cunningham McMullan (d. 1976) of Atchison, KS and John J. McMullan (d. 1919 of pandemic influenza), a naturalized citizen from Lorne-County Atrim, Northern Ireland. He met his wife of 63 years while attending UNM. Following his military service and discharge and following 18 months of hospitalization from tuberculosis, they settled in Albuquerque where he entered the real estate business with Anderman and Glasebrook. Over the next 60 years of active involvement in the real estate business, he developed and built more than 700 homes, 900 apartment units and numerous office and industrial buildings throughout Albuquerque. He handled the sale of the land which is presently Coronado Center to Bellamah Corporation in 1956. Subsequently he was elected President of the Albuquerque Board of Realtors in 1965. SANCHEZ -- Ray R. Sanchez, 1956 - 2003 Our Dearest Ray, It's been 2 years today since you left us here without you. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't shed tears, wish we could have said goodbye, told you how much we loved you and what an inspiration you were to us. We often think of your smile, your laugh, your love, and your wisdom. The memories are bittersweet and continue to keep us going forward because we know that someday we will all be reunited. This poem says what is in all of our hearts: "If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again." Rest peacefully beloved Ray and continue to guide us in the right direction. We love and miss you, Mom, sisters and brother-in-law, Linda, Rita and Joe, Judy, Godchildren, Adrian, Patrick Ray and Nicole, all your nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
