BLAKELY -- Betty Rosalee Robinson Blakely, born September 22, 1930, passed away July 16, 2005 at her home after a long illness. Age 74 and a resident of Belen for 55 years. She is survived by Elwood Baker of the home; three daughters, Rosalee Sims (Bill) of Clovis; Alice Wyatt (Ralph) of Clovis; Linda La Monyon (Doug) of Los Lunas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by Bill Blakely (husband,) Betty Baker (mother), Judith Blaney (daughter). All will miss her kindness and loving heart. Pallbearers are Ralph Wyatt, Bill Sims, Richard Barron, Steve Thompson, Gilbert Holquin and Rob Starkey. CLARK -- VERNA ANN. Mrs. Verna Ann Clark, widow to the late Russell S. Clark, passed away on July 16, 2005 at Sandia Springs Retirement Community. Verna was born to Daniel W. Gould and Mary Agnes Dalrymple at Succasunna, NJ on June 3, 1923 where she attended local schools. She married Russell Clark at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Succasunna, NJ on January 20, 1946. They moved to Albuquerque , New Mexico shortly after. Verna was employed at Sandia National Laboratories for 37 years. She retired in November 1991. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Violet Morse and Ethel Gould; and her brother, James Gould. Verna is survived by her brother, John Gould of Swartswood, NJ; her sister, Eliabeth Gould Carman of Dover, NJ; her brother, Daniel Gould Jr. of Mine Hill, NJ; a sister, Patricia Hunt of Flanders, NJ. She is also survived by a brother in law, Clarence Clark and wife, Pat of Succasunna, NJ; and her sisters in law, Carolyn and her husband, Jim Decker of Rio Rancho, NM and Ethel Riker of Rockaway, NJ. Verna was a very active member of the Church of the Ascensioin at 2150 Raymac Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM where her and her husband served for six years as Youth Directors. Verna cared for the flowers both in the church and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel for 17 years and she beautifully arranged the flowers she donated to the Glory of God. When the Pilgrim Statue of Mary, the Mother of Jesus began visiting homes, Verna served in the capacity of arranging the placing of this Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima in homes for nearly 20 years. She also served as a member of the Pajarito Catholic Cemetery Commission for more than 25 years until her death. Verna and Russell donated two stained glass windows, THE BREAD OF LIFE and THE CUP OF ETERNAL SALVATION to the Parish. Special to Verna and her late husband, Russell, was the joy of being God-parents to Juan Antonio Labreche, Peggy Martinez Sedillo, Maureen Pero of California, Monica Casias, Eric Sanchez and David Christopher Paiz. These filled the void in her life of never having had children of her own. Father Laurier A. Labreche, a very special Spiritual Father and Friend for over 30 years cared for her after the death of her husband. A visitation for Mrs. Clark will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Father Labreche. A final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Principal Celebrant will be a former Pastor and dear friend, Father Anthony Bolman. Also con-celebrating will be dear friend, Father Robert Auman. Burial will take place at the Pajarito Cemetery following the Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Decker, Juan Antonio Labreche, Raymond Alderete, Allan Paiz, Robert Alderete, Hung van Hoang, David Rose and Ross Baca. Father Labreche on behalf of Verna's relatives and friends wishes to express sincere thanks both to the staff of Sandia Court at Sandia Springs Retiretment Community and to the dedicated hospice workers who served Verna and other Alzheimer patients with such love and joy. CLOW -- James Martin Clow, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 14, 2005. James was born on July 15, 1921 in Houston, TX. He is survived by his daughters, Diane Weber and husband Tom of Pullman, WA, and Kathleen Clow of Sandia Park, NM; sons, James Clow of Las Cruces, NM and Michael Clow of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Michael Clow, Christianna Clow, and Ashley Clow. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Leonore Virginia (Rome) Clow. He attended Marquette High School (Class of 1939) in Milwaukee, WI. A veteran of WWII, James served his country as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of a B-26 Bomber in the Mediterranean Theater. He married Leonore "Lennie", whom he had known since the second grade, on March 21, 1945. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. CORDOVA -- Jaimie R. Cordova, age 42, of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005. He was a devoted son, caring husband and loving father. He graduated from Cibola High School in 1980 and pursued a chemical and computer engineering degree at the University of New Mexico. He was a lifelong printer, having worked in his family's printing business and for Albuquerque Publishing Company. He married Stella Salazar on July 18, 1987, was blessed with three wonderful sons and blessed everyone he knew with his positive, humorous outlook on life. He loved spending time with his family and coaching his sons' soccer teams. He is survived by his wife; sons, Jeremy, Marcos, and Isaiah; parents, Roberto and Jennie Cordova; sister, Valerie; brothers, Randy and Chuck; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course. GALLEGOS -- Angelina Gallegos, 62, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on July 15, 2005 at her home. Her husband and four daughters were at her side when she took her last breath. She lovingly devoted her life caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Angelina was preceded in death by her only son, Arthur Gallegos Jr. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Gallegos; daughters, Julie Zamora, Gloria Gallegos, Sylvia Gallegos, Sandra Sanchez and husband Ron; grandchildren, Louis, Angelique, Angel, Nichole, Arthur, John, Ashley, Alexandria, Lauren and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Julianna, Mateo, James and Andrew; former son-in-law, Andrew Zamora; sister, Corine Patterson; brothers, Teofilo and Mickey Patterson. GONZALES -- Joe Herman Gonzales was born on August 20, 1957. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2005. He unexpectedly died peacefully at home. Joe is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Gonzales; his children, Joseph Gonzales and wife Amanda, Jonathan, Emily, Michelle, and Jenny Gonzales; his precious grandchildren, Jonathan, Desiree and Joseph; his step-mother, Lydia Gonzales; brother, Leonard Gonzales; sister, Vivian Coleman and husband Bob; several nieces, nephews, other beloved family members and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe G. and Emma Gonzales. Joe was born and raised in the South Valley; and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1975. Along with his two sons, Joseph and Jonathan, he was a successful owner and operator of "Discount Towing" in the North Valley. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitations will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. till the time of a Prayer Service which will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. this evening at the New Beginnings Church of God, located at 3601 Montgomery NE. GONZALES -- Margaret Gonzales of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully into our Lord's arms on July 14, 2005. She was born to Vidal and Beatrice Serna in Winslow, Arizona on November 20, 1927. Margaret was preceded in death by her parent; brother, Joe; husband, Mike; and grandson, Dean. She was especially proud of her 22 years with the Los Angeles County Social Services Department. In 1981, Margaret moved to Albuquerque to be closer to her family. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Steven; daughter-in-law, Katy; grandchildren, Leticia and husband, Wes, Greg and wife, Laura, Kristie, Gerald and Marissa; and five great-grandchildren. LOWE -- N. Carroll Lowe, 90, a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005 following a brief illness. He is survived by his daughter, Shizuka Lowe of Albuquerque; sons, Carroll K. Lowe of Albuquerque, Kevin Lowe and wife, Janie of Roswell; grandchildren, Sean Lowe, Kevin M. Lowe, Carroll Kimble Murphy and Corinna Carroll Fouts; numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends from the Sandia Obediance Dog Club. Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Lowe; two brothers; and two sisters. He was born in Irene, TX in 1914 to the late Fletcher and Julia Lowe. Mr. Lowe retired in 1979 from Sandia National Laboratory, where he had been employed in various capacities, finishing as an electrical engineer after 28 years. He was Worshipful Master of Santa Rita Lodge #44 AF&AM in 1944. Mr. Lowe was also a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree. As a 50 year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he was a Journeyman-Lineman and Inside Wireman. Upon retirement he was active in training dogs for obedience and tracking, winning awards in both areas in the US and Canada. His candidness and humor will be missed by all who knew him. LUCERO -- Michael J. Lucero, age 48, a resident of Belen, NM, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2005 after a long illness. MUNDT -- Dianne Marie Mundt, 63, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 17, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Vern; sons, Troy Mundt and wife Christine of Iowa; Craig Mundt and Tina Drennan of Washington; mother, Margaret Pesina of MN; and sister-in-law Linda of MN. Dianne was a valued secretary with Our Lady of Annunciation School for 27 years. Everyone knew her positive humorous lookout on life. Dianne will be greatly missed by family and friends. NUNEZ -- Eloy Jose Nunez, 53, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 17, 2005. Eloy is the beloved husband to Mrs. Doris Nunez. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Severa Nunez; six children, Crystal Terrazas and husband, Jose, Bethany Nunez, Jose Nunez, Severita Nunez, Lorina Nunez and fiance, James Brito and Ida Nunez; five stepchildren; Tacho Zamora, Sarah Trujillo, Cindy Elizondo and husband, Ralph, Adam Zamora and Andrew Trujillo; mother of his children, Corrine Nunez and Ernest Gibson; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Valencia, Mary Agnes Mariscal and husband, Claudio, Shirley Saavedra and husband, Martin; three brothers, Pete Nunez and wife, Pony, Estevan Nunez ad Danny Nunez; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. THORP -- William K. Thorp passed away on July 15, 2005 at home in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on July 4, 1928 in St. Joseph, MO to E. Dwight and Oma J. Barkley Thorp. He was raised in Atchison, KS, later settling in Albuquerque in 1960. He was the manager of Laun-Dry Supply for several years. In 1996, due to health reasons, he moved to Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Lou Reidel Thorp; his parents; and sisters, Charlotte McReynolds and Mary Lou McNemee. He is survived by his loving family, Joyce, of the home; and seven children from his marriage to Mary Lou; William Jr., Kathy Wilson and husband, Edwin, Steven and wife, Penny, Daniel and wife, Melissa, Betty Chavez and husband, Greg, Patty Dohme, and Michael; and nine grandchildren. TURRIETTA -- Sylvester Turrietta died Monday, July 18, 2005, in Albuquerque at the age of 71. He is preceded in death by his father, Celso; mother, Sophie; brothers, Cecil, Jimmy and Bobby; and grandson, Robbie Miera. Mr. Turrietta was a military veteran with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his sisters, Clara Fenolio and husband, Charles, and Betty Koury; brothers, Michael Turrietta and wife, Susie, and Richard Turrietta and wife, Mary; children, Dinah Turrietta, William Turrietta, Michael Turrietta, Leonard Turrietta, Dee Dee Monge, Tranette Turrietta, Christina Turrietta, and Janet Padilla; stepdaughter, Linda Perea; four grandchildren, John Miera, Cherise Puckett, Jeffrey Puckett and Amanda Turrietta; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary for Mr. Turrietta will be recited on Tuesday evening, July 19, 2005 at Salazar & Sons Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services times are pending and will be announced. Pallbearers will be Michael Turrietta, Leonard Turrietta, John Paul Miera, Paul Perea, Joe Turrietta and Dee Dee Monge.
