DARRAH -- Freada Darrah. Born August 12, 1925 in the sand hills of Northern Oklahoma, her family left when she was four years old to escape the dust bowl. Freada grew up in Caldwell, Idaho. At the age of 27, she married dad and moved to Albuquerque. It was just last month that we lost dad. After 52 years of marriage and a month and a half apart, they had a date at the pearly gates. We thought they might need a little break, apparently not! Freada and Elmo are survived by four middle aged orphans; Donna Hall, Steve Darrah, Thomas Darrah and Carolyn Leinneweber, along with her kids in-law; Carman Darrah, Steve Sederwall, Cathy Darrah and Virgil Hall. She is also survived by her baby sister Veldonna and her husband Wayne Darrah. Mom and Dad raised us in the old school. They were strict but loving, and wouldn't stand for any nonsense. After we were grown, they became big softies. We often referred to them as the Stepford grandparents. Candy for breakfast was OK with Grandma. The thermostat could be sat at 90, no problem. Now that we are grown, they bought a television and every prank by their grandkids was just kid's stuff. To all the young people who they ministered to, prayed with, and lovingly understood, you owe us big for breaking them in. Services are set for four o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Bethel Heritage Church, 7800 Holbrook NE, Albuquerque. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
