CHAVEZ -- Richard "Dickie" J. Chavez, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly on October 20, 2004. He was the beloved son of Carolyn Chavez and the caring brother of Patrick Chavez and his wife Sandra; two loving nieces, Luisa and her husband, Eric Scott and Patricia Chavez all of Albuquerque, NM. Dickie is also survived by his many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Chavez. Richard retired from APS as a teacher after 26 years of outstanding service. A visitation will be held at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town Albuquerque on Sunday, October 24 from 6:30 -7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at San Felipe de Neri on Monday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m. With the utmost respect for Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date. Romero Funeral Home 609 N. Main St. Belen.

DOMINGUEZ -- Procopio Dominguez, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Friday, October 22, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dominguez. He retired from civil service. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. HARRISON -- Melvin L. Harrison, age 72, currently of Roswell, NM, passed away on October 20, 2004. Melvin was born July 30, 1932 to Talmadge and Hazel Harrison in Kenna, WV, and moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1962. He retired from the Medical Supply field in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet; daughter, Connie Hoy and husband, Shim of Woodland, CA; son, Steve Harrison and wife, JoAnn of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Gina Harrison and husband, Steve Corbett of Gulf Breeze, FL; daughter, Lisa Dove and husband, Kevin of Colorado Springs, CO; five granddaughters and three grandsons; sisters, Nancy Selby and Shirley Landrith, both of Albuquerque. HOFFMAN -- Beatrice "Bea" Hoffman, 81, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died Thursday, October 21, 2004. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1965. Bea is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Hoffman; son, David Hoffman and wife, Pam; daughter, Barbara Morrison and husband, Robert; three grandchildren, Brittney, Kiley, and Shana. JACKSON -- Virginia Jackson, born Friday, February 27, 1920, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2004, after a brief illness. She was born in Galion, OH, and with her husband, Bill, lived in various places throughout her life. Her most enjoyable places were Chama, NM, and San Carlos, Mexico. In San Carlos, she loved sitting on the patio taking in the gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez and working on a jigsaw puzzle. At the time of her death, she was residing with her daughter, Susie and her husband Neil. Virginia was a devoted wife for 63 years and a loving mother to her children. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and is survived by her four children: Bill and wife, Nancy of Bakersfield, CA; Jim and wife, Debbie of Moorpark, CA; Pat and husband, Flip Baudoin of Corrales, NM; and Susie and Neil Cutler of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Thank you to Presbyterian Hospital for their care while she was ill. MANSDOERFER -- Katye Elizabeth Mansdoerfer, 19, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 20, 2004. She was born on June 4, 1985, in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her parents, Ron and Stephanie Mansdoerfer; sister, Meg Mansdoerfer; grandparents, Ron Mansdoerfer, the late Marilyn Mansdoerfer, and Mary Jo Rumbaugh and the late Billy Rumbaugh; and a large group of family and friends who loved her dearly. Katye was a sophomore at Wayland Baptist University where she majored in elementary education. Katye was a Dean's list student every semester and worked in the yearbook office. She was the treasurer of Alpha Delta Kappa, a women's Christian service sorority, and an instructor of dance at the Barnyard Academy. Everyone who knew "Kate" was greatly blessed by her pure heart, tender kindness and joyful, effervescent spirit. MCHUGH -- Charles M. McHugh, 90, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2004. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrrl. Mr. McHugh is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Marion McHugh; sister, Mary McHugh Riley; nephews, Hugh McHugh and Kerby Riley; nieces, Sue Gunther, Pam McHugh, Helen McHugh, Monica Kelly, and Mona Smith; and his friends. PHILLIPS -- Barbara L. Phillips, 83, a Albuquerque resident for 62 years, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2004. She was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado and moved to Albuquerque with her husband, Harold, in 1941. Barbara loved tending her flowers, but her iris and rose gardens were her favorites. In later years, she volunteered at the Rio Grande Food Project, was active in Bible Study Fellowship, and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Barbara is survived by her children, Richard and wife, Sanette of Amarillo, TX, Linda McConahy and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, and Jim and wife, Pat Armell of Aztec, NM; grandchildren, Jocelyn Phillips of Amarillo, TX, Charles and Kim Phillips of Livermore, CA, Brian and Eve McConahy of Longmont, CO, Jason and Sara McConahy of Ft. Collins, CO, Leslie Armell of Ithaca, NY, and Julia Phillips of Portland, OR; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris Rode of Covina, CA and Helen Bathurst of San Leandro, CA. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 2002 and son, Douglas, in 1992. SANCHEZ -- Roberto Sanchez, 71, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2004. He was born on March 19, 1933 in Peralta, New Mexico. Mr. Sanchez was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Prescilla Sanchez; son, Robert Sanchez, Jr. and wife, Lorraine; daughters, Maria "Patsy" Garcia and husband, Vincent and Francy Ann Martinez and husband, Frank; brothers, Herman Sanchez and wife, Elli and Demetrio Sanchez and wife, Theresa; grandchildren, Renee Garza and husband, Jesse, Michelle Acosta and husband, Art, Evangeline Martinez, David Garcia, Frank Martinez, Josh Garcia and wife, Gloria and Diego Romero-Martinez; and his great-grandchildren, Alyssa Garza, Sabrina Garza, Art Acosta, Jr., and Dominique Acosta. Roberto will be deeply missed by his loving family. TORRES -- Laura Jean Torres, age 49, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque's South Valley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter was suddenly taken from us to go to Heaven on Tuesday morning, October 19, 2004. She was a member of St. Edwin Parish and was employed at John's Place, located in downtown Albuquerque for many years. Laura was born on Wednesday, March 30, 1955 to James H. Buckman and Alby Buckman. She was one of three sisters. Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Alby Buckman; her twin boys, Adrian Torres and Adam Torres; her sister, Emily Buckman; and her long time companion, Gilbert Baldonado. Laura is survived by her two sons, Dennis J. Torres and wife, Tanya of Las Vegas, NV and Albert G. Torres and loving companion, Jolene Fowner of Albuquerque; loving grandchildren, Kassandra Angelic Torres of Las Vegas, NV, Maritza Gabriella Torres of Las Vegas, NV, and Marcus Anthony Torres of Albuquerque; sister Katherine "Punky" Gutierrez and loving husband, Tony of Albuquerque; niece, Emily Ann Gallegos of Albuquerque; nephew, Eric James Buckman of Albuquerque; and step-daughters, Josie Baldonado and Tina Marie Baldonado. Laura will also be missed by many of her dear friends, aunts and uncles, and acquaintances who visited her on a daily basis. Laura always cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her children and family, and her door was always open to family and friends any time of day. She especially loved bingo, novellas, oldie music, and went to concerts featuring oldie performers any chance she could. She was always a person anyone could talk to when they had problems or go to for advice. She was extremely proud of her sons and grandchildren; her cheerful and loving personality will be greatly missed. Wyer, Carolyn Valdez and husband, Gilbert, Maxine Russell and husband, Larry; one brother, Donald Trujillo and wife, Carol; four grandchildren; Annette Ballejos and husband, Bibo, Theresa Jaramillo and husband, Chris, Stephen McCarthy, Lisa Perry and husband, Dave; six great-grandchildren ;and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vigil was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary for Mrs. Vigil will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel by Sister Doris Louise Valdez with visitation after 5:30 p.m. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Gate of Heaven Chapel by Father Anthony Bolman.
